How to Reupholster Vehicle Sun Visors [1999 Ford Ranger]
This video walks through the process of reupholstering sun visors (for a 1999 Ford Ranger).
This video highlights all the steps involved to reupholster sun visors: disassembly of the old sun visor, patterning and cutting new material, applying new material, and sewing the perimeter stitch using an industrial walking foot sewing machine (Juki 1541S).
- The materials were purchased from Your Auto Trim Store
- The Juki 1541S was purchased from Cutting Sewing Room Equipment (Cutsew) in Atlanta. (I highly recommend them if you're in the market for an industrial sewing machine -- give them a call and they can help you find what you need)

    I just replaced those cheap factory ( I believe) terminals on my Ranger. They were always corroding and wouldn't provide enough power in freezing weather. Bought a set and dialectic grease for $21. I just bent the terminals themselves back and forth until they broke and installed them under the new clamp with 2 wire bolts. Started yesterday at -5. True test in a few days when -20

    Was concerned about the acid/corrasion on ends. Might want to hit that first so can get clean contacts. Great video BTW as does simplify the manner of fixing things.

    Thanks for the tip dude. Just Installed these on my 99 ranger xlt. Imo they make the truck look newer and tougher. while giving me a better overall vision when backing up, driving around and potential blindspots.

      I don't think my door panels are rattling anymore, as they're fitting very tight with the sound deadening material. Unfortunately, this truck has a lot of other rattles, creaks, and squeaks that it's sometimes hard to tell where they're all coming from!

    Can you just crimp the lugs with a pliers?

    • @grevesgarage
      @grevesgarage 2 месяца назад

      These lugs require a fair amount of force to crimp and get a good connection. I'm sure there may be some folks out there that have the grip strength for that, but I'm definitely not one of them haha.

    • @marke.1021
      @marke.1021 15 дней назад

      If had to sure, but also that would flatten the crimp. Crimp tool has a hexagon crimp to it, so sort of squeezes it evenly. Should be able to rent one or find a person to do it cheaply.

      You can but on high and quite close to heat shrink. Heat gun is close to $13 at Harbor Freight, is easier.

    From someone who builds wiring harnesses for a living, you shouldve cleaned the end of those cables with a wire brush. Also, dont heatshrink so far up on the ring terminal, it gets in the way of the mounting nut/screw. That can cause it to make a poor connection.
