Somebody mentioned in another video that these horses are trained with cattle prods. I was appalled at the idea, but looking at how restive and nervous these horses are - I wondered if it should be looked into. Horse welfare must be paramount, always.
1,500 utter morons who are oblivious to the fact Belgians and other Draft horses actually really enjoy tugging and are treated like royalty by their owners, the fact that verbal and gentle for them tug commands is all the motivation they need shows that. These are not old malnourished ponies being whipped to an early grave in an 1830s coal mine.
