Beautiful! I really want to try clay art as a hobby but don't know where to start. What is that thing that you put your sculptures in to? And what does it do?
Thank you so much!! If you want to start with pottery I always recommend taking a class bc that’s the besttt way to learn but if you’re not able to do that right now there are some awesome air dry clay kits! Since what I’m using in this video is ceramic clay, it needs to be fired (baked at a high temperature) in a kiln (basically fancy high temp oven) so that it’s durable and becomes ceramic :)
@@RuthMoffattArt that's great to know. Thankyou for replying x
What do you call this twin roll press and where can you get it from?
It’s called a slab roller! You can get them from most ceramic supply stores :)
This is a chocolate 😂😂😂😂😅
I have the hardest time wiring plates off evenly
It’s tricky! I spin the wheel slowly while I wire to try to keep it even
so lovely!
Thank you!! 💞
My husband was like what was that 😂😂😂
Can you plss tell how did you paint the pumpkin basket? Like is it acrylic paint orrr?
It’s underglaze - this is ceramic clay so it gets fired in a kiln and the underglaze fuses to the clay, and then I paint it with shiny ceramic glaze which basically turns into glass in the kiln :)
Love these, the colors are so pretty!
Thank you so much!! I’m so happy with how the blues turned out 😍
There are some Structurally interesting houses in Iowa City Iowa, called the Moffat Houses, I just thought maybe one of your Distant relation, they are Beautiful, Creative, somewhat old world design
Thinking you should start with 'try not to panic' before you sliced it open..... lol. Otherwise, thanks for the guidance.
Omg ❤
I know todraw and to make scurpture knees airport with you love in Rwanda
Can you use any machine made it dry faster
Chocolate hai😂😂
Wow, it's the first time that I see one piece like that... perfect!!
I really love this idea ❤❤❤😊
hi, may I ask how do you bake your clays? I saw the box where you put it for baking, thanks!
It’s a little pottery kiln! It’s called the paragon caldera and fires ceramic clay to cone 6 (2233°f)
@@RuthMoffattArt thank you so much for that info. ☺️♥️
Oh my gosh … they are so cute!!
HEEERMOOOSOOOS !!!!!! Gracias por compartir!!!! 👍👍👍👍👍👍
Do you have anywhere you could recommend to buy the stand you use to sculpt, or any ways to make it at home??
It is easy to make at home! I’ll probably make a video about it some day but there are probably lots of good ones on RUclips is you search “how to make a head armature for sculpture”
@@RuthMoffattArt thank you!!
you are the best
So cute ❤

I'm totally gonna make it
did you glaze them or did they come out shiny like that already? (sorry i’m new to this)
I did glaze them! Then I fired them in my kiln to cone 6
Could I do this with air dry clay. I’m just kinda new and I don’t even have on of the roller things😅
Noo unfortunately air dry clay is not food or drink safe! If you want to try it out I recommend taking a pottery class if there are any near you :)
What type of clay is this the sculpture is beautiful 🤩 🤩🤩
Thank you so much! The clay is Highwater earthen red
which type of clay do you use? does it need to go in the oven?
A red stoneware clay called Highwater earthen red! It does need to be fired to at least 1900°f to be durable
What the shiny thing on theese
I love it the design is beautiful !
Thank you! 😊
Very nice. Can I ask what clay body you're using here?
Thank you! It’s Laguna b3 brown
you should fill one of these with marbles SO if it
