Tim Phoenix - Someone To Talk To (DEMO)
what mic are you using at the beginning of your video
Found and can confirm today, security spanner bits will work for that annoying screw. Specifically a 2.6mm spanner is the perfect size.
Awesome! thanks man
Thank you Tim. I'm just checking on a pair of atm10a that I got for $30 the pair and I'm using them on room mics for drum recording, it sounds amazing thanks for sharing this piece of content.
i enter my code which i found in the book and on the code generator but still it says incorrect code and displays an error. please help
Thanks mr that worked
What bit did you use to take it apart?
a drill bit and screwdriver
Can you link to what screw driver bit you used
just a regular metal drill bit
Hey I’m curious if you know the interior diameter of the body.
43mm (4.3cm) hole. From the bottom to the mesh it's about 120mm (12cm). Inside the mesh it's 52mm (5.2cm)
@@TimPhoenixTV Thanks! I was trying to figure out if I could pop off the front grill and stick in a Rode Wireless Pro mic. Kind of a silly exercise. But I was trying to save some money if I can find a broken one. Looks like it will fit. I just need to find someone who is giving a broken one away.
@@EdNeuhaus You have about an inch (2-2.5cm) from the capsule to the mesh if you wanna keep the original mic inside.. If you wanna remove the mesh on top you'll have to epoxy it back. Good luck!
"Promosm" 🙄
My podmic was sounding very weird and bought it used so couldnt get a lot of help. and found that the spring was completly missing. so fixed that and now it sounds great! Thanks for the video!
awesome that you fixed it!
Bro, can you tell me the dimensions of the spring?
@HopperBeamNG it’s tiny, get a few different ones and try. Should be about an inch or so long, just thread it on to the screw so that it sticks good, and cut/bend to make it contact the plate down in the hole.
Thank you very much!@@TimPhoenixTV
Look into the se v7 mk, got it recently. Very nice mic, imo a great sm7b competitor.
My stereo won't let me put code in..it just beeps and it reads Error.. Pls help
hi please what is the brand of table stand you use in this video? Appears to have shock mount included

My code is 6823 how to use it?

thanks for the video - I've just got the same mic although mine doesn't have the on/off switch. Got the same humming problem, so need to check my cable as well - have you tried the hi/low impedance switch on the back - the low setting (on some models noted as 'N' ) that should allow you more gain, as well as allowing to use a longer cable, while being also the correct resistance for an XLR plug?
Thanks! Ok, hope you fix it. I tried the imp. Switch. The difference is minimal on mine. I have it on the highest output even if my cable is short.
for me this mic is way to bright with no low end... and about his modification well still hear plosives + muffled sound
Nice to hear what you think! I agree. It really lacks bottom and that "warm" tone. It's not for hight pitch guys for sure. For the price it's descent sounding. I use noise gate, compression and eq to get it better (to my ears) but it's really not as easy as with more expensive mics. I'll continue modifying till I'm happy with it!
Can my spring be bad. ????
Yes, or not make contact. Then you have no grounding.
@@TimPhoenixTV well i strength the spring to make longer. But shows resistance. I pul everything a part. And move. The wires. But still make. Strange sounds when I touch the body of the mic. So i went. To buy another one. And try. And still the same. Make stranger sounds. Whet touch the body of the mic. And. If you touch the. Mic arm. Or the desck. It make noise. At this point not sure. Whats the problem. 😞🙏🙏🙏
@1Wayfix sounds like you might have a bad cable, try swapping it out.
Thank you so much! Now I see how shitty the "foam pop filter" is... It is a shame on an otherwise amazing mic. I have two and I guess I will have to replace it with better foam.
I'm going to try a few different things to make it better, just trial and error with different materials. Hopefully make it more similar to the sm7b. (without the low-end that mic has)

Ayeeeee I see you have the Motu... and thanks for the video Tim.. from one Tim to another, lol.
Thanks man! I'm really happy with the Motu as well.
I know they have an official one but how much would it cost to get this done?
That’s cool they finally made their own white version! To answer your question: I think it depends. If you do it yourself then it’s just the cost of a bottle of spray paint. Let a professional do it would probably set you back 20-50 usd. I would probably buy the white version from rode - but prices have gone up lately. Cheapest way is to get a used black one and buying a bottle and doing it yourself.
I think the Ginger Root singer uses one of that on the stage
Verse 2 and the chorus were really good. The ending and such was good about the mash up stuff. The beginning needs help. Cant just switch between the two like that it’s disorienting
It worked thanks
It worked thanks
I love how Rode now officially has a all white podmic set up
They must have seen my video (I did share it with them) 😀
Please , bro... Help me.. wich better for ur22c? PodMic or Procaster , i want buy Procaster , but i scary choose mistake....
Both mics are great and very similar. Or get a shure sm58 - also a great dynamic mic.
The podmic is a little harsh and the procaster is alot more expensive the sm58 is the same price as the podmic but more flat and smooth response
så jäkla skön låt! blir svårt att toppa detta ;-)
24:e December på Spotify!
You can also use buttons 1-4 to increment the digit at positions 1-4 respectively
that actually seems to be an sm7! the grille has square holes instead of circular. edit: nevermind! watched through, turns out otherwise. still very cool tho
It's the sm7b made in Mexico.. but has the USA square holes. It's very confusing indeed!
yet very very cool! i wish my sm7b was like that, i just repaired mine which was fairly easy. is it possible to swap grilles normally?@@TimPhoenixTV
@@driftboard of course you can swap grille, they do have the same holes for the 3 screws holding it in. So if you find the older one just do it :) I would go eBay for used busted or defective mics.
sound perfect! thanks! :D@@TimPhoenixTV
I have the new md21-u version for years and I love it. It has the widest frequency range and it is really resistant interupting for noises. Love the mic for years will never ever sell it.. Hope it will work for more years. Thanks for reviewing this verry underrated mic!❤ PS I use it as mic for the highhat of an one man band and as my streaming mic.
Cool! It's a super mic for sure. I'm going to use it on guitar and voice primarily. Those sennheisers rock on drums and overhead miking.
I have that mic. Mine came with a cable installed that has the original 4 pin amphenol jack attached on the mic itself but with a standard XLR male at the other end of the cable. I don't mess with it as it's probably too hard to find a replacement. I also have another Shure Unidyne ball mic with a single pole connector and luckily also came with the cable (also an old Green Bullet with a hardwired 1/4" short cable). I use modern vocal mics on gigs but would love to use these sometime for a kick or when I master (ha) playing the harp better anyway. I think that demo sounded pretty good.
Hey man! Awesome, And thanks dude. Yeah they do sound great. Mine had the 3 pin jack -just like an XLR jack but different size kind of, but probably the same threading on the connector as yours. Hold on to that one :) I'd love to see your ball mic (what the hell is that?) I'm hoping to find the right cable or just resolder in a way that it's like the original but the modern connector.
@@TimPhoenixTV looking for a way to post a picture here. Until i do post one the model number is Model 5855A Unisphere A. It's a single pole conductor mic, came with a cable, one pole screw on end to 1/4 inch silver in color. I think this mic can still be gotten in working order and pretty cheaply.
@@Carlsings You can e-mail me, the mail is in my info or under any video I post. That' sounds like an interesting microphone. I'll search-engine it!
THIS ONE HERE IS FRKN GOLD, Tim my MAN!!!! i thought i was going crazy, changed all the kabels tried everytrhing spend alomost the whole day searching for this problem, and believe me.... you are the ONLY one that has my exakt problem.
Happy for ya! hope you open it at fix the ground issue. Just get that sucker open and start fixing. Cheers dude!
Very interesting mic. Just purchased used one today. Waiting for delivery.
So how is it going? let me know, shoot a video :)
🤩 "Promosm"
how to get that code
either you get if from your Renault car dealership, unless you got the code with the car (it's a radio card with the code)
@@TimPhoenixTV i found everything it works thank you.
Ebay £1
Omg thank you couldnt find it anywhere else !
Glad I could help!

Thanks for this video.
Hi, nice video. Does this lens focus go to infinity?
Out of all these soaps what do u recommend for first time user
Durden (#1) is a good start for sure.
@@TimPhoenixTV ranking:Durden 1=>Bond3=> Maverick 1?
So the podmic doesnt have any foam as pop filter inside?
It does! at 11:08 in my other video (ruclips.net/video/u23CEQYxrxU/видео.html) you can see it.
What if you use Cologne? Will they still be good?
your wiener will fall off
I'm not Goth but I really want to try the soap 🧼 💀
Annoying video!
I'm curious have you noticed any results from the pheromones?
They clean you up and keep your mood up, that’s gonna lead to results. It’s not a magic p***y trap.
wow so it is not simple to open the PodMic, hoped it were easier so could put a better popfilter in
It is possible! just open the mic like I did, and insert more filter. alternatively keep the mic further away from your mouth or use external pop-filter (foam windscreen etc)
@@TimPhoenixTV Thank you. May I ask how much gain do you use with the IOI24? I use a fatheat for Podmic with my IO24.
@@DieTabbi I use a fethead too, then just set the volume to whatever is comfortable. On my preamp it’s at +30db. Probably the middle or just over half volume on the usb sound card.
ruclips.net/video/GWpaDhxEgT8/видео.htmlsi=fPH4oK84lwKjAjXs
I think y'all sleeping on durdan 2
Thanks for the vid! Not sure anyone else has bothered doing a teardown of this mic, which is surprising considering how popular it is and how long it's been out. Might I ask the diameter of the actual diaphragm? rather curious about that.
Hey Kevin, thanks. I haven't actually measured it, maybe I will one day. But I doubt it's smaller than 1", probably 1.25" or so.
@@TimPhoenixTV Thanks! I'm a pure hobbyist as far as acoustics go so I could be well off but I've been trying to find a way to improve the mic's low-end response. Could manage speaking with the microphone right up against my mouth I suppose, but that picks up too much mouth noise, argh.
Where can I found the code?! Didn’t get any code from person I bought car from ?!
should be on a sticker in the car service book, or contact authorised Renault dealer.
