STEVE MARRIOTT Five Long Years 1985
The greatest SINGER in the history of RnR. Steve Marriott. RIP
Great guitarist ,fantastic singer composer
I needn't mention any names but there are a few ourstanding UK musicians I know who say he'd be their go to singer every day of the week
Steve was not just a Blues Scholar... he was a Doctor in Bluesology and had enough black heart in him to know exactly where the blues hurt the most. Incomparable!!!
I saw Steve with his special band mates, Jerry Shirley, and Greg Riddley as a three piece Humble Pie in Southern California at a little club called The Timbers sometime within a few years of this performance! Brilliant!!! As a side note, you could see backstage and Jerry's drum cases still had Fastway stenciled on them! 😊
Pure class, the best version of this awesome song. How lucky are we to have grown up with these legends.
The best blues vocalist/ musician ever to come out of the UK, simply taking care of business.
My God! He was incredible wasn't he?
Steve Marriott was a godsend may he rest in peace he's not like all the other garbage bands that are out there now they all suck
Absolutely brilliant!
his voice not what it was in the 70s still powerful and unique but his playing better than ever
ABSOLUTELY AMAZING XXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXX
Simply outstanding. You're sorely missed Steve. Thank you and God bless you.
Not just a great voice 👍
Damn he was incredible!
Pure....."GREATNESS" !!!
You just cannot take your eyes and ears off him, the best ever.
Unbelievably, i have only really started listening to Steve this year. I've been flawed. I was born in 70 but never got into the Faces or Humble Pie. Did have the latter in aplay list tho. Discovering this has been mine blowing and sharing it with friends is just great. What a genius with music ruining though his veins and whole existence. When you see his interviews he's such a down to earth and tiny guy! She sounds that comes out of him is just nuts! I truly believe there needs to be a biopic about him, as he is seriously one the greatest talents the UK had and seems very unknown by most. The way he plays and sings blues is out of this world. Black coffee live with Bob Harris at the end, on here - with the Blackberries just blew my mind. Such a tragedy what happened to him. Genius
YES
Steve Marriott was a much better guitar player than Peter Frampton
I was just about to say the same thing Marriott is a great guitar player and as a lead guitarist❤
Nope. They combined to be greater than ten guitar players
Never knew he was a guitarist...and bloody good at it
best singer in rock
Another star lost to drugs. Such a shame.
Marriott is of course great as a vocalist, but I think his greatness as a guitarist should also be talked about more.
Great singer and blues guitarist so sadly missed died so young😢
Saw him in a small venue where we could get up close he was amazing and dressed exactly the same 😊
One of the BEST Blues rock singers ever
It has been said he has never been heard or recorded to ever have sung off key.
Steve Marriott - Champion and Legend RIP
Great blues rock, just amazing stuff!!
It’s a shame he had a scummy manager. He was as good as they come.
Now thats some real soul....RIP.
Absolutely brilliant.
A lot of guitarist covered this, but Steve was the master!
This was a revelation. Superb!!
Share!!! Learn what's right
Anybody notice where Robert Plant got his singing style? Quite obviously from Steve Marriott! Steve was singing like this before anybody heard of Robert Plant.
Saw him in 83 at the electric cowboy festival in Columbia Tennessee. Inxs canceled. Steve Marriott filled in. They rolled him out on a stool in a full leg cast. It was one of the most memorable performances I've ever seen. What a voice!
Highest praise
He was “The Artful Dodger”
Unfortunately, he left us way to soon 🙏🏻
Marriott in his earlier years was always a good guitarist, by this time he had become a great guitarist.
Miss you man
Gigantic talent he was.
Spoke to him on this tour he hadn't had that guitar very long.
I’m watching this for the first time and even though I loved humble pie, I cannot even imagine why Steve had other guitar players in his bands. he always had the absolute depth of the blues and what he wanted to project. I’m sad. I never got to see him live.
He used to play The Bridgehouse pub in Canning Town with his band Packet Of Three…..he wasn’t precious about being famous…….he just loved to play.
The HUMBLE PIE rockin the filmore album is the best ever. Marriott and Frampton together.
Absolutely the TOP !!!
Total class.
This man lived the blues, playing the blues came natural to him. What a great performance
