My predator 3500 has a valve at the bottom of the carburetor bowl. You open it with a flat blade screwdriver. When you open it the fuel drains out of the carburetor bowl through a clear plastic hose that empties out through the bottom of the chassis. Elegant really. So when I’m getting ready to store my predator 3500, I just leave the switch in the off position which shuts off the gas, and I drain the carburetor bowl by turning the screw at the bottom of the carburetor bowl. A couple of turns, and the gas runs out of the carburetor bowl. I don’t know about the predator, but Johnson outboard used to warn you not to run the engine until the gas is all gone because it causes detonation, which is hard on the engine.

The hose between the demand regulator and the generator should be kept as short as possible as the demand regulator works off of vacuum pulses from the carburetor. The long grey hose should be between your gas meter and the demand regulator.

any idea why when i turn the propane on at the tank, its leaking from inside the unit somewhere? no leaks anywhere leading up to unit including inlet port. but definitely leaking from within

My generator would die off after starting using this set up. I contacted Nash Fuel, and was told that the regulator needs to be within 3 feet from the gas inlet on the generator. That is, using the same setup, one may need to connect the hose to the natural gas line first, and then run the regulator into the generator. Also, Nash Fuel has removed the adjuster on the regulator because generators need to use the max setting. One regulator can only pull one generator. Hope this helps.

Some items on the part list seem incorrect. The generator has a 3/8 flare for propane. To turn that into a 3/8 quick connect, shouldn't you require a 3/8 MALE (instead of female) to 1/4 male adapter fitting?

Ours had a battery., just no clips and screws…was not connected.

Has anyone ever been able to determine the approximate BTU's/Hr or CF/Hr usage on natural gas under various electrical loads (idle, half-load, full load)? I have a A250 natural gas meter (est. maximum 250,000 BTUs) that currently serves a 110,000 BTU natural gas Boiler (for heat and domestic hot water), a natural gas stove/oven (9,500-74,5000 BTUs but when in use, generally usage is closer to 27,500 BTUs while cooking) , and a natural gas clothes dryer (20,000 BTUs, if it's needed for laundry). At general utilization, it looks like I'll have about (at most) about 92,500 BTUs available to supply the generator. If anyone has information of the estimated NG usage by the iGen4500 under various loads using NG, it'd be appreciated.

This mod doesnt work on mine. If you run the carb empty and then let it sit for a few hours and check the carb for gas there is a decent amount of fuel that comes out. The fuel shut off leaks even when closed

The noise level is really only noticeable when running the AC and other appliances like the microwave, hair dryer, or coffee pot. It’s not huge like other ones and it has wheels so even at 90lbs, I can move it!

Thanks for the video. I have a 1-1/4 gas line from the meter. I got a 1 1/4 to 3/4 inch reducer and have 1 3/4 inch ng hose. Do I need to reduce it to 3/8 and then get the 3/8 to 1/4 adapter for the generator or can I just get a 3/4 to 1/4 adapter? Thanks again

Can you do this setup if you already have a gas valve / tap set up in your garage or does it have to be write off the M another word is there a high and low pressure you're tapping off of or is where you're tapping off the same pressure as it is in a house where the furnace connect to when I was building my house I installed to natural gas Taps that are currently capped off in the garage one to run a natural gas barbecue grill and a natural gas generator

So I see that you went the GEL battery vs standard Lead Acid it comes with. Amy concerns with the lack of ventilation in the battery compartment?

That's an excellent generator, we have one. Ran for 30 hours during Dec 23-24 when we had power out from high winds and it was 14 degrees in NC. Ran about half load and kept the whole house going except the 240v items. Propane fireplace to stay warm.

nice to fid this, wires n switch ordered. Curious to see your connection to natural gas, I ordered a US Carb kit and wondered how you ran hise/fitting.

I have a leaky shut off valve, so looking for a video to get into that. Carb bowel keeps slowly refilling with the valve in the off position.
