3 Personality Traits to Look for in a GOOD ROOSTER
Today we talk about the 3 traits I look for when deciding which roosters to keep.
A bad rooster is not a good time, and with so many roosters looking for a home there’s no need to deal with one!

Sweet Broody Hen Sharing Her Breakfast with Baby Chicks
Hi! I watched your longer video as well but was unable to comment on it. I bet she is going to be super salty when she no longer gets her sweet treats in with her grain! 😂 Also, with the diaper cream, if you wanted to try something more natural, you could try lanolin, which is the oil that sheep produce to help protect their wool. My family have used lanolin on our chapped lips in winter since I was a kid. I hope she makes a full recovery and the ultrasound isn't needed.
Stop giving your animals human foods SMH and y'all wonder why they get sick SMMFH
Ahhhh hate 😢
I should call her
Why would you show us That.
Damn I know how it is when the azo finally hits. Such relief 🥺
Holy shit i was not expecting to see horse coochie at 12 in the morning
which one of the carton did it hatch out of.
Lady, you speak very, very fast. But I liked your video. Congratulations for your breeds.
Genuine question, how do Mares get UTIs?
I loved this video!! Ordering a couple of these items to complete my kit.
Wet molasses also works wonders. You can get a 5 gallon bucket from a tribute dealer
I did not think I'd see a horsussy ;-;
As somebody who suffers from recurrent bladder issues, I know that AZO tastes horrific if it accidentally gets on your tongue. I’m glad that the sweet girl is getting treatment though🫶
Uti for animals 😮😮😮😮😮 wtfff
Why does she look at you after she ate a few bites like,” you did something to this, didn’t you?”😒🐎😂😂😂😂😂
A horse pissing was not what I expected to be on my fyp
🤢🤢🤢
My Arab loved frosted mini wheat
that is not normal! her diet must not be the best.
We asked about the cause and our vet said it’s something that some horses are just predisposed to. There is nothing we could have done or changed to prevent it.
Poor horse. UTIs are no fun.
Is there more than one male in the flock that might get them aggressive towards male & females ?.
the quality tanked HARD trying to record the dry food pour whew
Good information
We dont need to be posting squirting vulvas of a horse. What the actual fuck 😭😭😭
When they are chicks trim their beaks
She’s so cute - hope she fully recovers quickly and without a lot more bills lol
Why don't you just add molasses that can always get our horses to eat even if they're fussy
I'm personally the most interested in the most social breeds. My personal favorites have to be my Gold Lace Wyandotte. Ginger and Amber. Got them trained to perch on my shoulders.
Looove my Splash and Blue Ameraucanas. They are the most friendly, a few go broody with 90% hatch rate. Gorgeous blue eggs. A few ride my shoulders like parrots . In 10+ years in chickens , my 2nd all time fave was Buttercups. Gave away the English Orpingtons bc of the booty trimming, no ty.
My favorite breed is the Black Langshans. They are good layers, good meat birds and super friendly and docile birds. Plus they're about 2 feet tall!
Totally agree. Wyandottes are the best. Have bred gold laced, silver laced and whites, over the years, that I lived in Australia (now living in the USA, Ohio) Unfortunately no longer can… city living sucks! Miss my chooks. (Chooks is Aussie for chickens)
What about plain ol farm chickens, like leghorns and broilers? Aren't they the easiest?
I know its a horse and all but 40 pills a day is way more than i expected holy
i’ve had a UTI before, not fun. nearly died cause i’m an idiot 😂. poor horsey 😢
I've got eight gold laced Wyandottes that are 6-1/2 months old now and not a single egg. Is this normal for them? Good food, plenty of protein, large stress-free enclosure and NO eggs. My Rhode Island Reds were laying tons of eggs by 18-20 weeks.
Can I purchase a dozen of the Blue Laced Red Wyandotte Hatching Eggs? I am trying to get a heavy healthy meaty great egg laying chicken.😊
Can you recommend a breed for small flocks. I like to keep my flock of 10 or so and because i do not have a rooster sometimes they get crabby at each other and start pecking leaves off someone. What can help prevent this? Their run is large and enclosed. They get to free range several times a week and I always keep clean fresh water for them with 18% protein feed. Thanks for any suggestions you may have.
I appreciate that you detail your reasons why these breeds are your favorite or not. I am not sure I would want a breed that goes broody really easily. But I also see the great utility in it. I am a new viewer/subscriber and I wonder if you've ever gone over how you manage broody hens. We've only ever had small flocks and when one hen goes broody then the egg production overall suffers greatly. Is this the case in larger flocks? I'd love to learn more about your chicken flock management practices since you've been doing this so long and have sustainability as a focus.
Can roosters be handled? The hybrids tend to be slender?
I did NOT wanna see horse hoohah
I love orpingtons. When I was a kid I had a yellow rooster that I used to carry around. They are so kind that they are stupid. If you can get Swedish Blommehöns/Blomme chickens I think you would like them. Beutiful and good with cold.
Hear me out
Sugar is really bad for a UTI
Least Favorites - #1 Black cuckoo Marans; #2 hybrid bluebell egger created by Hoovers; #3 Golden death layers. Favorites - #3 - English Orpington; #2 Amaricana; #1 blue laced/red Wyandotte.
Great video. Now your making me want to try the Wyandottes. My favorite breed I've tried so far is the Lavender Orpington.
Honestly... Antibiotics are being so overused we are running out of effective ones, they should be controlled drugs
just happened by. we haven't had chickens in a year for various reasons but my all time fave mix was BLRWs, SLWs, and a few EE's for egg fun. And since we always had a BLRW roo, we hatched out some very interesting crosses w the EEs, very unique properties with eggs tending toward greenish. our roos were always gentle towards our then little kids. So, I am +1 for your ranking on these birds being EXCELLENT. only downside I can think of, is the roos were not exactly good flock defenders 🤣when preds came around (we did some limited free ranging in summers). alternately, you could say the roos had a strong self preservation instinct. we liked our roos a lot. ETA also cold climate, we did not heat or insulate, they fluffed and did great in winter, no comb issues etc. Someone mentioned another I really liked, Buff orpingtons. Very hardy, lovely temperament as well. Just not a breed I got into as much. I loved the EE for eggs, and the Wyandottes for all around greatness.
The things we do for our babies ❤
