I am also a two-time survivor and the journey is indeed accompanied by this community, family, friends, and medical personnel. Being from Ohio, I thought I had no family here but I was so wrong. It turns out I have a BIG family here in this community. We went to The James Cancer Center in Columbus, Ohio for a second opinion this summer as my walking has taken a hit with nerve damage from cancer. I just wanted to be sure we were on the right path of treatment. I was thrilled to hear after two days of tests that I was getting the best care possible in rural Oregon with Dr. Bronstein's guidance. Dr. B was supportive of our seeking the second opinion and gracious when I told him what the James had to say about my treatment here in La Grande. I am still taking oral meds. I am grateful for every day when I awake and grasp joy where I find it. Candis, my neighbor, has been my hero through her journey and I am thrilled to have her among us today. Thank you for this witness to killing Chuck!

This place is a very sad place for any kind of medical attention. I left there with new injuries. Small but beside the point. Head nurse got upset with me, slammed the door so hard the tiles from ceiling came crashing down on my head and arm. I asked for incident report and was ignored 3 times. I was bleeding for over 5 hours from my nose.there was no way to stop it from coming . down. There is no reason to call and complain because this is a everyone knows everyone town hospital. Unfortunately I'm not from here but I got stuck after coming here to help with my dad who passed from dementia. I had heart attack and was flown to Boise, ID Was sent back here to recover and covid hit. I'm more unhealthy now than before my heart attack. This was not the first incident with this hospital. I refuse to go but I stay in assisted living and sometimes asked to go by someone who cares a little. I have Jo no one here and notv1 person in 3 years has offerwd a caring ear lped with
