1998 Honda Civic | Replacing the rear quarter panel.
Hey guys. We were going to paint my wifes car until we found a massive amount of body filler on the rear quater panel. It seems this vehicle had some serious damage at one point. The door still needs to be adjusted but other than that I am extremely happy with how this repair turned out. Make sure you subscribe for the new upcoming content.

1972 Volkswagen Beetle | Metal work nearing completion. 1983 Porsche 944 | interior strip.
Просмотров 3564 месяца назад
This is a quick update video on the 1972 bug progress and a small bit of work on the white porsche 944. Life has been crazy so its taken a while to get some time in the garage. I had two days off from works so I spent them in the garage to finish up these big welding repairs. Only a few more spots to weld up and then it will be time to move on to stripping the car and spraying epoxy primer. Mak...

Hey all. In this quick video, I go over the new parts car. This car would have been a great project for someone if the tree hadn't crushed the back. I can use a bunch of parts along with the engine which seems to be in decent shape. Im not sure what year it is but im thinking 1983 or 1984.

    I wanna see you fix the top along the windscreen. That’s looks messy. I heard you say you use copper. I need to get some. Too easy to blow holes through thinner old metal. . The air vent section looked tricky as well. Aren’t the tabs removed as the replacement front has them installed?

    • @VWBrennidon
      @VWBrennidon 2 месяца назад

      @The0Matador0 the bus is put on hold for the moment. Want to get the bug in paint and at least get the doors and windows and such back on so I can leave it outside if need be. Currently I'm in primer and working on the body so shouldn't be too long before the bus comes back. As for the piece on the bus that will be replaced completely. Wolfsburgwest sells that piece and it's a really nice reproduction.

      It's a pretty straight forward process. Just take it slow. Get a spot weld cutter(pretty cheap on amazon) it will help a ton. Make sure you take some measurements of the windshield opening. Once the nose is off make sure to take the time to clean and paint in there.

I also thought about keeping it and putting it on the backburner but the extra cash would be really nice to finish up the bug esp since im almost done with metal repairs and ill be buying all the paint supplies. Hopefully the corvair works out. Not sure wht the plans for that will be. Might just make a video trying to get it to run then let it move on to someone else. Great video man. Question for you...... I started ordering metal for my 69 Bay. Cip1 offers 2 kind of inner rockers. One is smooth as in one long piece of steel that needs to be fully welded in. The other is all notched and is called a drop in piece. Any thoughts on which one would be better ?

    • @VWBrennidon
      @VWBrennidon 10 месяцев назад

      Hmm let me take a look and see which part you are actually talking about. Because when I did my 71 bay there were 3 pieces to it. The inner rocker which welds to the tophats(cross beams for the floor) and then the middle section of the rocker which has a bunch of circle holes and then the outer rocker which is the skin of the bus(the part I replaced with license plates lol) if you look back through my videos and find Ep. 18 I did the repair on that one

    • @pstreetgarage7304

      @@VWBrennidon I did watch that episode. It looks like this drop in (inner rocker) is notched so you could just slip it up around those top hats. Can't even find the middle rockers. My issue is that my floors are good and everything under is bad. In my mind I'm thinking I can do these repairs from underneath without disturbing the floor. But it's probably just wishful thinking. Might be easier to cut a section of floor out and do the repair and welding from the top.

    • @VWBrennidon
      @VWBrennidon 10 месяцев назад

      @@VWBrennidonyeah. That’s what I was thinking. I don’t have a 220 outlet at my house so I found this one that uses a 110 connection. I’ll probably do a video on it so I can embarrass myself learning how to weld. CT Garage I think taught himself how to weld and does great now. Plus my dad was a welder for many years on ships.

      @SanDiegoVDubLife mine is also only 110 and I run it with gas which makes for a better weld. The bottle wad expensive but worth it. Yeah I've followed CT and he has for sure come a long way. Hoping I can get better also.

    Great video. Chasing the pinholes is never ending. What you think will take an afternoon takes 3 times as long. You are making good progress also I think a propane torch and putty knife will take off the undercoating.

      Ah thats a good idea I'll have to try that! And yes the pinholes are a nightmare. Over that 4 days I felt like I got nothing done. I guess because I was expecting to knock out more than what I did.

      If this were a oval or something more desirable I probably would have dished out the money to do channels but these weren't in that bad of shape and I already had the spare metal laying around so the repair to them didn't cost me anything but time really.
