There are thousands of great small towns all across the United States. My dream is to visit and film as many of them as possible.
My objective is to learn from the locals why they live in their small town and what makes it great.

The World's LARGEST Buffalo - Jamestown, North Dakota
Jamestown is a city in Stutsman County, North Dakota, United States. It is the county seat of Stutsman County. The population was 15,849 at the 2020 census, making it the ninth most populous city in North Dakota. Jamestown was founded in 1883 and is home to the University of Jamestown.
In 1871, a Northern Pacific Railroad work crew set up camp where the railroad would cross the James River, adding another section to the new northern transcontinental line. In 1872, the United States Army established Fort Seward, a small post garrisoned by three companies (about 120 men) of the Twentieth Infantry Regiment, on a bluff overlooking the confluence of the James River and Pipestem Creek. Have you been to the tunnels in Mexicali Mexico on the U.S. border . The Chinese built them and they give tours of the tunnels
@@BryanKirch I'm sensing sarcasm. 😎🌵☀️
@ no Im serious I’ve been there look it up
@ it’s called la chinesca
At this point I just gotta ask.. Is it woke or not?
The town of Saltsburg? Far from it.
@@smalltowntourist Thanks for the reply. May seem like a silly question but dang near every town I look into has been cooped or the seeds have been planted.
@@bigtimmothy7795 I've found that a lot of the rural PA small towns are mostly conservative church-going deer hunters. I can't speak for what they teach in their schools, but a lot of that is driven by the politics of Pittsburgh and Philly. Most small town residents resist the woke ideology.
@ Yeah that’s true but, Sadly it’s spread like wildfire past few years. I’m from Pittsburgh/work here and am now of the age to settle down and trying to find a small safe affordable town within a 2hour commute that is not another dead end rust town. Not to get too into it but many of the old rust belt towns here have been intentionally flooded with immigrants illegal or otherwise. Ligonier has been the apple of my eye for many years and now thanks to your video Saltsburg is a close second. So thank you.
@@bigtimmothy7795 if I can ever get back to western PA, Ligoneer is a town I'd love to do a video at. Especially in the fall during the Ligoneer Days festival.
Awesome video! Thank you!
I'm so excited you enjoyed it. Thanks for your kind comment! 😎🌵☀️
While I appreciate the history, the rumor being repeated that the government killed the Chinese RR workers has been debunked by many credible sources. I am not a fan of spreading rumors because your viewers may often take this as fact which feeds the flames of government distrust. Government certainly gives us many reasons not to trust but this story has never been corroborated. As for tunnels, numerous cities across the Country have tunnels, including Chicago, Cincinnati and many others. They were used for central heating piping, delivery of goods and sometimes just to allow movement underground during harsh weather conditions.
Thank you for your comment. Where I'll push back is, I don't believe government distrust is necessarily a bad thing. Our government practically whiped out native Americans, sent tens of thousands of young men to die in Vietnam (and other wars), taxes our wages beyond reason and need, and funds evil "scientific studies" all while voting themselves raises, practicing insider trading, and living well beyond their needs. Sorry, dumping dead Asian railroad workers into lakes in the 1850's and beyond is the least of their sins.
Pinche Loco still talking $hit.
Where are the water stations
Water stations? I'm not sure what you're asking.
Where are the water stations
Where are the water stations
Ive heard that lake Tahoe rumor growing up and im from Sacramento
Whether the folklore is true or not, how the railroad and government treated the Chinese was criminal. Thank you for the click and comment! 😎☀️🌵
We went to Williams during the Thanksgiving holiday 1:52
Did you enjoy your time in Williams?
I have visited this place and the whole area is very nice . The problem with this and other areas like it is the prices are way out of this world . If you don't have a pocket full of cash then your just looking and that's as far as it will go
That's true. The real estate is extremely high. Most of Arizona is becoming this way unfortunately. Thanks for watching and leaving your comment 😎☀️🌵

I thought tortilla flats was in compton 😂

They are all over Missouri. There's a tunnel system under Springfield that I found in old newspaper archives. There's a local brewery that still has access to them. There are old tunnels under every University in the US. Probably other places as well
I'm finding that's quite accurate. There are underground tunnels under several AZ small towns in Arizona I hope to one day explore. 😎☀️🌵
Hate to break it to you, but these arent "tunnels"... They're the buried remnants of a past civilization that we are totally in the dark about... EVERY CITY has evidence of this.. Ever notice that all the old buildings have what appears to be doorways and windows that are mostly covered by the ground, and have been sealed shut as a result?? You dont find this odd at all? There was some major event that brought unimaginable floods of mud and sediments over these cities, burying the lower levels of the buildings... Look into it... its everywhere.
I'm not sure about other cities, but there's enough evidence that the tunnels under Williams, AZ, were built by the Chinese railroad workers.
@ so they werent busy enough building railroads and figured "lets dig an entire system of tunnels undetected" ... The more you actually think about the history youre told, the more youll eventually realize its nonsense. The "tunnels" were usually already there in most cases.
Burro meant wild donkey, sp no such thing as s wild burro.

It’s amazing how they are busy enough to use all that product in a year! So wonderful
This time a year, @tortillaflat gets slammed with people. Their patio is open with live music daily. The drive there and back, coupled with the live music and fantastic food makes the journey so worth it 😎☀️🌵
My ex wife and drive through there years ago. Good times and a very scenic drive.
One of the best drives in AZ 😉☀️🌵
Yeah, I’m full up on Arizona but thanks for the video …. ‘Conservative’. - she had to get that in there. 😂
I would assume their conservative world view is part of the culture in Pine as I found that to be true in many rural Arizona communities. Political views are the last thing I care about and personally find undeniably divisive. I'm interested in the culture, history, and attractions; everything that makes the residents proud to call their small town home. Unfortunately, sometimes their political ideologies are what defines them. It's true in small towns and large cities alike. Thank you for your comment! 😎☀️🌵
Waitress serving your sarsaparilla seemed rude.
I think she wasn't real keen about being on camera. She didn't say it, but that's the body language I was reading. Who knows? Maybe she was having a bad day 😉☀️🌵
I live near Niagara Falls in Canada and I'm fairly sure that you will find these types of tunnels all over the North American continent, if you look for them. I know there are tunnels underneath the towns, in many areas around here. Fort Erie has tunnels, as do Niagara Falls (the city), Niagara on the Lake and Port Colborne as well. People do not realize that many of the battles in the war of 1812 were fought in this area. Toronto also has many areas of underground tunnels as well. Many large cities in the States also have tunnels underneath them, so they're all over the place.🙂👍🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼
This experience definitely opened my eyes. Thank you for the kind comment. BTW, I've been to both the falls and Toronto. Both are wonderful places to visit. 😎☀️🌵
Everyone should know that Pine historically has water shortage problems every summer. Wells go dry ….
Interesting. That's common, from my understanding, in many high altitude small towns in Arizona. Thank you for posting ☀️🌵
My Great Grand parents had a home up there. Unfortunately my parents encouraged her to sell it after my great grandfather died. She regrets it to this day. If you have ever heard of Hitt’s rocky knob, that’s him.
Pine is out of this world. People and the place. Even the elk.
💯 That's one small town in AZ I'd love to visit more. Thanks for your comment! ☀️🌵

This is my home town, I went to Nadaburg elementary, was a frequent customer at that country store. I was about seven years old when we moved and every time I think about Wittmann I immediately picture the country store, the tiny post office, and my elementary.
I enjoyed my time in Nadaberg although it was short. I met some interesting people. Thanks for your comment! ☀️🌵
Try that BBQ/Pizza place on Main in Payson. Can’t remember the name but it is wood fired and awesome. Wife and I stopped there after last camping trip. Trying their BBQ next time in town.
I believe it's called rim country BBQ or something like that. I haven't been there but I have heard great things! I'll get up there and make a video one day soon and I'll try their pizza. Thanks for your post! ☀️🌵

Those trumpet sounds people say they are hearing? Are actually Tunnel Boring Machines!!! I used to live on the west outskirts of ElPaso were one of the biggest military complex is! Every night I would hear these sounds only at night. So I figured someone was trying to hide these noises. So I did some investigating and found that Tunnel Boring Machines make the same exact sound!!!
Interesting 🤔
Probably still are in a lot of places…
Correct your history on your remark as from Johnstown PA where the Stony Creek meets Little Conemaugh River to form the Conemaugh as Conemaugh River as where PA 286 Bridge the Conemaugh River is same River but name changes to Kiskiminetas River with the Loyalhanna Creek flowing into Conemaugh River.
Thankyou for taking us out there! 😊 good video!
Thank you! It probably wasn't smart to go alone in the AZ heat, but I made it (fortunately) 😎☀️🌵
Now let's see, concrete pilings, utilities & pipe runs... Hmm, I'm not seeing much in the way of smuggling tunnels or opium dens to be honest- just backhoe trenching at this location with the topic embraced by the business because why not? It's a good draw, like a good haunting story. P.S. I don't buy for one minute that Jacque Cousteau would destroy photographic evidence of any genocide he captured in one of his explicit missions. That's just crap.
Indoor plumbing didn't become widely used until the 1930s. PVC wasn't introduced until the 1950s. These tunnels were built 100 years prior to PVC. Of course these buildings were revamped and additional support (concrete pilings) were added. That doesn't change the fact that the tunnels were used for nefarious purposes including opium dens and speak easy's. As far as the stories regarding Tahoe... most definitely folklore. 😎☀️🌵
I want to try that pizza
It's worth the trip! Also, the garlic sticks with beer cheese are dynamite! 😎☀️🌵
