The World's LARGEST Buffalo - Jamestown, North Dakota
Jamestown is a city in Stutsman County, North Dakota, United States. It is the county seat of Stutsman County. The population was 15,849 at the 2020 census, making it the ninth most populous city in North Dakota. Jamestown was founded in 1883 and is home to the University of Jamestown.
In 1871, a Northern Pacific Railroad work crew set up camp where the railroad would cross the James River, adding another section to the new northern transcontinental line. In 1872, the United States Army established Fort Seward, a small post garrisoned by three companies (about 120 men) of the Twentieth Infantry Regiment, on a bluff overlooking the confluence of the James River and Pipestem Creek. Correct your history on your remark as from Johnstown PA where the Stony Creek meets Little Conemaugh River to form the Conemaugh as Conemaugh River as where PA 286 Bridge the Conemaugh River is same River but name changes to Kiskiminetas River with the Loyalhanna Creek flowing into Conemaugh River.
Thankyou for taking us out there! 😊 good video!
Thank you! It probably wasn't smart to go alone in the AZ heat, but I made it (fortunately) 😎☀️🌵
Now let's see, concrete pilings, utilities & pipe runs... Hmm, I'm not seeing much in the way of smuggling tunnels or opium dens to be honest- just backhoe trenching at this location with the topic embraced by the business because why not? It's a good draw, like a good haunting story. P.S. I don't buy for one minute that Jacque Cousteau would destroy photographic evidence of any genocide he captured in one of his explicit missions. That's just crap.
Indoor plumbing didn't become widely used until the 1930s. PVC wasn't introduced until the 1950s. These tunnels were built 100 years prior to PVC. Of course these buildings were revamped and additional support (concrete pilings) were added. That doesn't change the fact that the tunnels were used for nefarious purposes including opium dens and speak easy's. As far as the stories regarding Tahoe... most definitely folklore. 😎☀️🌵
I want to try that pizza
It's worth the trip! Also, the garlic sticks with beer cheese are dynamite! 😎☀️🌵
I have been in all my life and you can tell it's all bs .. lol 😂...... 😂
Centralia would be a FANTASTIC place for an off-the-books Government installation… Chances are, there probably is one…
It definitely has a peculiar feel 😉☀️🌵
I put a dollar on the wall many many years ago. All these bills are new since the restoration burned down a long time ago. Me and a friend drove up there last year. He had his 64 Corvette and I had my 96 Mazda Miata. What a great drive. Don’t forget to get the brisket sandwich. WOW. SOOOOO GOOD
Yes! Their food has dramatically improved over the past couple years. The dollar bills on the walls has become one of my favorite parts of TF. I love reading them to see where the people were from and when they were there. Great post! Thank you!! 😎☀️🌵
Just before Tracy Twyman was unalived she had been looking into possible trafficking rings operating out of a campground in Williams AZ, and received unalive threats because of it. I wouldn’t be surprised if many of those tunnels are still being utilized. Very creepy. Look into Tracy Twyman if you don’t know who she is.
I will definitely be looking into Tracy Twyman's story! 😎☀️🌵
The govt said to the Chinese who worked on the railroad that after they finished they could stay in the USA and bring over their family's who had the same last name .They had everyone they knew change their last names to the same name and 1000s came saying they were all related somehow. Which is why in the phone books there are 1000 chang's or 1000 Wongs etc etc
Very interesting! Thank you for your comment! 😎☀️🌵
in Pendleton Oregon they have them to but they turned them in to a tourist attraction called the the Pendleton underground it pretty cool
@milofrazier3604 very cool! 😎☀️🌵
Just made it to Williams today, you saw my last comment about the canyon..... gonna see if I can figure it out.
I bet the weather in Williams is amazing today! Have fun! 😎☀️🌵
@smalltowntourist it is gorgeous out here today, we got to see the entrance in a business out here with a really 💩 situation 💩 ...... if you understand what I'm saying.... happens to also be another place down the street that was that empty that I could have gone in but I didn't need to at that point. Thanks for the video, it was really cool coming out here and seeing that it is true and they do exist. Even had the opportunity to talk to another guest that establishment and they had also been down inside the one you went in... my offer still stands about the canyon, let me develop some more information and get a little bit of clearance to do some things and maybe we can do a video together about it, would be super cool.
Tunnels under route 66 down town Kingman They run from the building on the north side of 66 under the train station and train tracks and come back up somewhere in the homes south of the tracks
@@robertzumstein4431 I'll get there soon enough! 😉☀️🌵

@@CloudsOnTheSun I definitely will! Thanks for sharing 😉☀️🌵
Same old sappy nonsense story following the mainstream. Tunnels everywhere under every city but these ones were dug by Chinese for opium dens.
I can't say I fully understand your comment. However, thanks for stopping by and checking out my channel 😎☀️🌵
there are tunnels in downtown flagstaff as well
The downtown area of Kingman has a bunch of Chinese houses still. The cabinets and countertops are super low. There are tunnels all over here. This used to be a huge WW2 base and the government built even more tunnels.
@@20Prosperity12 This sounds incredibly intriguing 🤔
@@smalltowntourist yeah come check it out. The High School downtown was also built atop of a Chinese graveyard and the Ghost Hunters were here as the high school is supposedly haunted.
Loved the “ouch” right at the beginning! Welcome to Arizona! I love Tortilla Flat. The drive up there is among my favorites. We don’t live far from there & often head up there for lunch.
One of these days I hope to remake this video. It was my first one and I didn't really know what I was doing lol. Thank you for checking out my channel and taking the time to post your comment 😎 ☀️ 🌵
6:00 so the United States govt just murdered a bunch of innocent people, and we don’t think they won’t do it again, that’s messed up, maybe the bodies are still down there and could be retrieved
@@tristanjones429 the stories or myths state that the bodies are still there and perfectly preserved. They are supposedly incredibly deep and nearly impossible to reach. That's the folklore. Whether it's true? We'll have to wait and see. 😉☀️🌵

Every railroad town in the west has tunnels
Many did because the laws prevented the Chinese from being seen in town. 😎☀️🌵
Yo you should have kept going all the best
I very much regret not bringing a brighter light with me. I don't make that mistake anymore. 😎☀️🌵
That's a big reason for China to hate America
We've definitely made mistakes. 😎☀️🌵
Very cool. I live 30 miles from Willaims.
Thanks for checking out my channel and taking the time to post your comment 😎☀️🌵
@@smalltowntourist Rumor is there may be a sealed off prison under Williams similar to Park City Utah. Rumor is also that there are still bodies buried down there. Like both cities, the miners were wild drunks and gamblers and very rowdy bunches.
We visit Pine, Strawberry and Payson quite often. Just to clarify it’s the Old COUNTY Inn 😂 and it’s very good. The surrounding area has beautiful hikes and springs with crystal clear water. Love these small towns in AZ.
Out of the three, which is your favorite?
Zoomed out from my house😳
Lol, my bad. 😎☀️🌵
These are everywhere, especially under WSh dee cee.
I don't know much about DC or their tunnels. We're they built by railroad workers?
If a sandwich and salad cost $26 last year, I imagine it's $35 dollars this year. Pretty soon you'll be able to wipe your a$$ with US currency because actual toilet paper will BE TOO EXPENSIVE! smh
Their prices are steep for sure! 😎☀️🌵
Poorly researched. Bogus.
I've done research since and most points to my initial findings. 😎☀️🌵
Even though you didn’t mention any store names but I have a pretty good idea which bar had a that door to the tunnel
@@ylrevebzeb8767 if you know, you know 😉
I just found your channel. I just love what you're doing!
Thank you! More videos coming this fall 😎☀️🌵
I have not heard this story, but I can't put beyond the govt to do the dastardly deed. They never want to give up on our money. That's what's so sick! It's not even their money!!!
True. They will never be satisfied with how much they take, sadly. 😎☀️🌵
How about the librarian
Noted. It never crossed my mind to ask a librarian. I've added that to my list of people to seek out moving forward 😎☀️🌵
Out towards bearizona at the actual railroad tracks, there are two tunnel entrances that seem to boarded up...just holes on the side of hill the tracks are on...they go back towards the town just into the actual hill
Interesting. That seems to be a good distance from town. I wonder if they are part of the same tunnel system? Thanks for the comment! 😎☀️🌵
⚠️⚠️⚠️ Do your research people… that’s a dangerous place for decent human beings. Some of those people WILL steal anything not tied down. Some like to play with matches and burn RV’s. ⚠️🔥🌮🍔🧌
If you get caught stealing from another slab, they will burn your entire camp to the ground. It's the one and only rule. I felt safe during the day time but the night is a different story. Don't go alone. 😎☀️🌵
In another AZ town there were gambling tables found with chips and such still on them in similar tunnels, ostensibly from prohibition days. Bad aspect of this is in all these towns, the Chinese really had hard lives, their lives were considered less because they were foreigners and many did not learn English. Prostitution, drug addiction, senseless murders, all were part of the Chinese' experience here building our railroads; proportionally though, it seems like many had successful biz: food, farms, laundry, gambling..... The old newspapers refer to Chinese as "the Celestials" many times.....hard to imagine in some of these small towns, there were significant Chinese populations, 3,4,5 % of the town from what I have read.
@@azdbuk I like it when people who know their history drop by my channel. Thanks for taking the time to post your amazing and historically accurate comment 😎☀️🌵

I’d love you to explore or learn more about the underground tunnels in Livingston MT…..I’ve always wondered
I am trying to plan a trip to Montana next year (no promises) in hopes to tour some of their small towns. Livingston is definitely one of the towns I hope to visit. When I'm there, I'll definitely do everything I can to see their tunnels! 😉☀️🌵
I've lived in Metro Phoenix for 45 years, my sister lives in Flagstaff and... I've driven through Williams a bunch of times but, I've never stopped in town. I gotta do that! Been all over the state and love day trips up north, especially in Summer. Prescott is so close, we drive up just for Dinner or a day or walking Downtown or hitting the lakes. When go up just to fly RC planes for the day. Sedona is always a great day trip to cool off and enjoy the beauty. Jerome is another favorite. Funky little mountain town. Love taking friends from outta town up to Flagstaff, shoot up to the Canyon and then stay the night in Flagstaff. Then, the next day, take the back way down to Sedona via the 87, down the rim and into Oak Creek Canyon. Then, over to Jerome, down through Chino Valley into Prescott and...if time allows, take the back way through Yarnell and Wickenburg. Long day but... So much beauty on the ride and sites to see. Now, gonna have to check out Williams. Have wanted to take the Train to the Canyon. Hear it's a beautiful ride. I do love my state. So much beauty. Great day trips or weekend trips.
The Grand Canyon Railway is worth every penny. A hack I discovered is to buy the least expensive ticket and move to the diner car after it opens (30 minutes or so after departure). There, they have booths to sit in so you and your family or friends can sit together and talk face to face while enjoying and Sarsaparilla float 😉 ☀️🌵
What were people digging 8 feet by 8 feet tunnels with in the 1800's?? Chinese immigrants with blasting powder and shovels? How many Chinese immigrants does it take to build intricate tunnel systems in that amount of time? Fascinating how nobody has information or pictures how they did it...and this seems to be the same story in most cities that supposedly have these endless tunnel systems below. Quite sure the "Boring" company was not founded yet...
The Chinese RR workers were incredibly efficient! There are stories that say the Chinese out-paced the American workers 10 ft. to 1. In addition, their work was superior. I imagine they built those tunnels applying the same work ethic. 😎☀️🌵
Secret?
The vast majority of Americans don't know about them. 😎☀️🌵
OKI have not read through the rest of the comments but scenes that I was born here in the early 70s and that my family owned part of downtown Flagstaff at 1 time I can tell you you have good ideas not completely correct. The most important thing is that they were not free-roaming under the cities they were not allowed Do wander the streets or be in any of the establishments so yes they all lived downstairs however they were not free-roaming they were slaves. Most of the tunnels in Flagstaff still have the The shackles on the walls. You can no longer get down inside these Supposed ice tunnels for the ice house. The FBI has sealed them up for their own use. They're used to be glass blocks letting light down into the tunnels both in Flagstaff and in Williams this is all since been removed only for political reasons. It is part of the true history of the West but we're not supposed to know our history. Keep digging
Thank you for checking out my channel and taking the time to post your comment 😎 ☀️ 🌵
Most of the old west towns that had Chinese in town...(many next to the rail lines), had these tunnels. The Chinese would do laundry , maid, brothel and manual labor services. However they where not welcome on the streets, so they where told to build tunnels so they could move about to service the downtown areas. We have them here in Prescott as well.
Prescott is on my shortlist of AZ towns to visit. Hopefully sooner than later! 😎☀️🌵
Thank you for stopping in our town! Population of Jamestown is actually north of 15,000! And you're welcome to come back now that the Frontier Village is open! Downtown Jamestown is also a beautiful site and there's many other recreational opportunities including two manmade lakes!
I wish I would have had more time to visit! I can tell that your small town is definitely something special. I hope to one day get back up that way and spend more time visiting with the locals. Thanks for checking out my channel and taking your time time to comment 😎☀️🌵
The fighting stuff was true for sure. I have a million stories from my grandfather and his brother, the barber. Once you lost there was no huge family vendetta. Just shook hands and respect. Great stories.
Yes, I think Jesse might have embellished some of his stories for sure. But, if that bridge could talk... Thank you for checking out my channel and taking the time to post your comment 😎☀️🌵
Pine Country Cafe, you should've eaten there. Great pie!
I'll be sure to make it one of my stops during my next visit 😉☀️🌵
All that and you barely go in???
I didn't have a strong enough light. All I had was my cell phone light. If I did go in further, all you'd see is a black screen. I plan to return and go deeper in with much better lighting. 😎☀️🌵
Did I see that right....$26 for a chicken salad?
@@lisahesse6783 it was a chicken club sandwich with a side salad and a soda 😎☀️🌵
My husband and I used to drive up to Willam’s once a year. Knew about the “Red Garter,” place and reputation, but this is the first time I ever heard about the tunnels. Thank you for sharing this fun fact, well kinda sad that the Asian people were forced (??) do do the work and build the RR.
Thanks for checking out my channel! The Chinese weren't "forced" but they definitely were treated very poorly compared to other workers. We owe them a lot of gratitude for what they accomplished. 😎☀️🌵
Your a doosey. , thanks. So much
