Creative Colour Mixing Workbook Introduction
Просмотров 16 тыс.8 лет назад
This is a basic introduction to Ann’s new ‘Creative Colour Mixing Workbook’ for coloured pencil drawing. A simple, easy-to-follow, guide to choosing vibrant colour mixes to create intensity and depth in your work.
It was a very beautiful, very realistic drawing. Congratulations👏👏👏
Ummm, too expensive for me!
I was wondering if that was an embossing tool that was used first.
The upper bar that locks is actually a feature, that allows you to easily insert the pencil. When you start rotating the lever, the bar unlocks and the sharpener does its job. By far, it is the best sharpening system I have ever used.
Just a beginner would love to start but hsvingtrouble
This answers a problem with keeping the veins highlighted, using the white colour pencil. And using Faber-Castell, which is great, as I use them constantly. Thank you and happy to subscribe to your beautiful channel! 😉
Shame there are no closed captions for this video for those with hearing problems. Missed a lot
I will certainly look into doing this, a;though my tech skills are not brilliant. Thanks for pointing this out.

Amazing, so lifelike!! Thank you for the video, I've learnt something new today
Mine always breaks. Under under the wood
The perfect beginners exercise. Thank you !
I'm re-watching this to get some practice in before your leaf course in March. I'm also doing some exercises from your book. I'm really looking forward to the course. You are such a talented teacher.
You are so talented!
I really appreciate your videos. More, please.
So did you feel it reacted the same as the 140lb hp paper or does the price point to you justify the change? I usually coat my 140lb hp paper with clear liquitex since the pigments ride on top anyhow and just was wondering your opinion. I use a Caran’de ache water brush that has the fibrous pointy marker end and fill it with my oms. I use 125 neutral thin since we don’t have zest it but the waterbrush does not let it leak at all. I also find that I do not over use them and to clean the tip I just push the button and wipe the tip on a paper towel and cap. They have never leaked in my art bag either. Well I am not sure about spending the amount. Here it is $61. I can also tint my watercolor paper either with ink or watercolor. Thank you for your review.
Thanks for the refrigerator tip. It's a new one for me. I have an old electric sharpener. Is it ok to use on all pencils?
Great video! I was hoping you'd do a paper comparison as it's way too expensive for me to buy. It seems to look and behave like the Legion Stonehenge sheets (very different from the pads) which are glorious for colored pencil work. $4.30 for 22 x 30 sheet at 2021 prices from Blicks.
I don't know if the passage of time has made a difference to the Botanica Smooth but I just did a stress test on it and it was ok. It tore after a while but no where near as quickly. Another note on paper also, the Stonehenge White pads are no good for Botanical work. It's too rough. Is Artistico any good? My local Art shop here in Ireland has tonnes of it. I can't get Classico anywhere.
Hello Ann! Thank you for very interesting videos! It will really help to make my skill better!
Excellent information.🙂
Thank you Ann very informative.
Bravo!
Paper recommendations would help a lot as i see no point in testing paper and finding it is no good after a person has spent money on it, therefore recommendations are very useful.
Hi, I'm in Northumberland. What are your broad thoughts on Derwent Lightfast pencils? Thank you for a lovely, well-structered video.
Mam, your techniques are really helpful. There are a lot to learn from you. I would suggest you to upload your videos once a week, so that we could learn so many skills from you.
Anne you had me until the baby oil. Please don’t unless you’re just scanning the work. Really non Archivally stable. OMS is more stable as a blender. Oil is never going to be stable as it doesn’t dry and isn’t manufactured for longevity. Loved the range of tests. Totally agree about the botanical ultra smooth, surface just pulls off. I have and enjoy your botanical coloured pencil book. Crikey this paper is pricey. 70 quid for the big pad on the derwent website at the moment. I do normally notice their products become cheaper elsewhere over time so I’ll be keeping my eye out for the price dropping.
Baby oil is a big NO from me too!
Thanks for the comment re baby oil. I was taken aback when I first heard this talked about, and haven’t tried it. I will stick with OMS.
Thanks for this! Is this paper like Pastelmat? I've used a dampened magic sponge to erase errors successfully on Pastelmat. I'm going to test it on Derwent soon.
It is nothing like it. Pastelmat has a velvety surface with a fine grit to it. Amazing for pastels and colored pencils. Not great for erasing.
Excellent
I learn so much from watching this video! Thank you for sharing your technique!!
Fascinating!
Thanks! Kind of like a gravestone rubbing. So says my inner child. Actually I would usually do something like it, in a pinch, with soft graphite, but this is much cleaner.
Really interesting how you have done this Ivy Leaf. I learned a lot. ~Always struggled with veins in myh leaves, now I know how.
Nice music!
Thanks for sharing ,see yaa.
Patti toh mast banai hai lekin aapki pencil ghisi ni 😂🤔🤔🤔😂
Great 👍👍👍👍👍
Фантастика ❤❤❤
Useful, thanks for making this video
Thank you Ann , I love that you have done this demonstration in real time, not speeded up! I have your book but it’s so helpful to see you working.
Thank you so much you are such a help and inspiration x
Great 👍
Looking forward to receiving mine..your explanation and demonstration makes it's value apparent. Thank you!
I am in awe of your extraordinary abilities with coloured pencils... Something to aspire to. Thank you for these wonderful tutorials
That’s a very interesting way to do a straight edge on a swatch... I’ve seen people use stencils but found them a bit limiting. How you’ve done it is a brilliant idea and something I’ll definitely try myself. And a very perfect blend 👍
Amazing!!!!!
So amazing . I will check your on line tuition program. Thank you .
Thank you so much
What's a good alternative for scalpels?
