Stop shutting down due to the generator sensing exhaust fumes.
Did you use their distributor as well
@@EzraLohr I did but at the time there were some issues with the Aces Mopar distributors. I actually ended up doing a Hemi swap before a new batch was ran. Check out Justin's (Crewcab Dart) videos. He does a very thorough install, test and tune. I competed with him over the weekend at Moparty and his car did excellent.. Very competitive. ruclips.net/video/fHii0Q7_3VI/видео.htmlfeature=shared
Good information I have ran 2200s for a few years I'm in remote Alaskan Bush have to use a generator box The co minor has got me more than once over the last few years just bought the EU 3000 it's good to know how to disable that damn thing I'm from the old school anybody dumb enough to run a generator inside their house deserves carbon monoxide. I'll be running my new one in a box to protect it from -55 below my 2200 has almost 7,000 hours on it still works great from keeping it warm in the winter and changing the oil once a week changing the fuel filter shit like that. Anyways thanks for the information 👍
I'm getting that killshot
Nice car
That tranny and oil pan looks too close to the ground but they fit it in. 👍
Is this for sale?
@@redrum1879 no.. Hoopty is family 😁
That is 100% legit!! Very clean install. 👌
How are you liking the killshot after all this time?
I actually pulled the small block over the winter and did a Hemi swap... Great folks to work with tho
Nice!
YES 😉
Hemi Dart - bucket list item #8. Well done
I had a 69 dart I miss it it took a good jump and was done
Did you regulate your fuel pressure before the throttle body then plug the outlet on the throttle body similar to how a carb would be set up? Ive been looking for info, but not much out there
Yes, I regulated it.. If you download instructions for the kit you're interested in, all if the info will be there. Also, loom at the Aces FB group.. Bunch of helpful people there as well
Shes gonna be a beast
Hey Dan, do you think it can be done on a eu7000is also, cant find the sniffer unit.
I haven't been into a 7000.. I believe they're a little advanced but should be the same basic principle.. Something has to sbiff/taste the air. Best advice I can offer is download the service manual and look through it. Try to find the correct terminology and track it down. I'm sure they have it stashed pretty good.
Thank you Sir, value info.
Does anyone know why i need do give my royal flush a little bit of throttle to start up, and why it bogs down when i get on full throttle ? Also its shooting when i let go of the gas
Just confirming; the fact that the "sniffer" can't "sniff" does not cause the CO minder to shut the generator off after awhile?
Nope.. Doesn't shut down at all. Used in our repair truck with zero issues. The crew used to have to restart the genny constantly... They run all day now on 1 start
@@danarcher6356 Thank you
Another question for ya Dan... What did you hook up the Mini to for positive? The instructions say to the FiTech EFI wire harness but since you have a Killshot, what did you use?
Killshot has a Fuel Pump lead.. Run it to + terminal. The mini also has a - terminal.. Run a wire to ground
Thank you sir. I was installing the fuel system first so it's ready go. I didn't figure the Killshot would have something for the Mini. Thanks again
What the heck were you watching on the TV in the background?? ;)
Black Label Society.. End of Days 😉 ruclips.net/video/KUGkTQfAiVg/видео.htmlfeature=shared
Does this work with the 7000 too?
Not sure.. Dig in and find out.
Dude. You're the first person I've seen running the Aces Killshot with a FiTech Force Fuel Mini. This is exactly what I am about to get started on. Can you clarify something for me? The Aces manual says you should run a fuel return line from the TB back to the tank with a regulator in between, but the Mini says to run a return line from the Mini to the tank with no other regulation in line... basically the TB gets the supply pressure and that's it. Only 1 of its 4 port used. What did you do? OH!!! one more. Your Mini shows like 46 psi but I heard they come stock at like 50 something. Did you replace the regulator in the Mini with a 3 BAR or are you running the regulator it came with and the Killshot is happy with it? Please... I'm dying to know!
The Killshot can be ran with return or returnless. For 3 bar pressure, use BOSCH 0280160557 in the Fitech unit.. Install it before putting the pressure gauge in.. It's easier. You'll be happy with this setup. Aces support is amazing.
Is that the 5" screen or the 7"screen? Looks and sounds great.
Yes, it's the 5"
👍
Have you adjusted the IAC when warm? It sounds like it’s really open. That’s the hissing sound from the TB. Clean looking ride you have there.
That was the first start. Once it goes into closed loop, the iac is down there... 5-6. I haven't touched it. I'm gonna try changing my start timing a bit and see if that has any effect as well.
@@danarcher6356 Gotcha. Our first start the IAC was wild. We did have to adjust it to get it to come down though.
@@DrivingForwardBuildshow do you adjust the iac….i played with the idle linkage screws but the best i can get is 32/35 when warm…..on my holley terminator x systems i can get them down to 3/9……..just by adjusting the idle screw in the LS throttle body
@@trentdawg2832 after you get the linkage set you adjust the screw on the throttle body side. But make sure to wait till it’s warmed up and in closed loop. You should be able to get it down to 5-20ish.
@@DrivingForwardBuilds thank you…i got her down to 5…..no i need to lock out that disturbtor and install that along with the coil
To be honest with you all you have to do is just unplug it you don’t need any tape and the machine runs just fine real easy
I tried that originally.. Machine will shut down after a period of zero signal or data input. I believe it also disables other features such as low oil shutdown.
@@danarcher6356 I’ve been running this one unplugged for almost 200 hours no problems
@@joeywjones Still no issues running with the module unplugged? About to buy one of these, and I'd like to disable that thing.
Didn’t work it still shut off after 2hrs
You may have another issue at hand.. We run these all day with no issues. Prior to the tape mod, it wouldn't run 5 minutes.
Try unplugging the sensor..
I did that yesterday but it still shut off after 2hrs Although I used blue tape instead of black
Thank you so much for this video, you saved me what I am sure would have been a boat load of money, I simply just disconnected the sensor altogether and it started right up.
Guaranteed to give you carbon monoxide poisoning.
I’ll give it a shot! I have mine in a sound box and if the breeze is the wrong way it shuts me down!
This truck will fix ya up 👍
Great Video Dan, will this work on a 7000i. I want to put on in a trailer that has generator box but I'm afraid it will shut down inside the box even with it having vents on the side of the trailer
Only one way to find out.. 😉
God bless you 👍 Thanks
Absolutely brilliant solution ... simple, clean, and effective ... thank you!! Part 2 is a good demo, too! As to the 10-year 'checkup' problem: who cares what happens 10 years out? If the sensor replacement alert flashes, just take the tape off, then let the dealer replace the sensor and reset the 10-year clock; once you return home ... simply re-apply the tape ... rinse and repeat.
Thanks.. I belive in 10 years, you can just buy a new sensor unit and tape it off, just like this one. No need to visit a dealer.
More like ten years buy a new generator 😂
Thank You sir you are awesome!
Bro your a legend amongst mere mortals… thank you 🙏🏼 I keep mine in the back of the truck for work all every day and yesterday it cut out 23 times!! Half way through my day and not a single cut out! Finally I can get some work done ✅
Right on.. Our repair crew was having the same issues. I searched and read everything I could on these units and it seemed that nobody had totally figured it out how to bypass the CO2 shutdown. Some guys were unplugging or bypassing things that affected more than just the 02, such as low oil safety shut down etc. The low oil shut down has saved our machine a few times. So I invested a little time into it and it was an easy solution. Glad it helped!
Neat Idea, no doubt that it works, and works well. However, doesn’t the generator’s computer start the CO sensor “life span” clock when the generator is running? What I mean is, will the generator eventually stop operating or indicate that the CO sensors “life span” is over and to “ please take to an authorized dealer” after say 10 years or whenever the sensor “needs” to be replaced?
It's going to flash when it's near its 10 year cycle.. Covering the sniffer, isn't like disconnecting the unit. All other functions operate as they should.. Low oil alert, timer etc
It's carbon monoxide (CO), not carbon dioxide (O2)
Thanks for the video. Have you tested this in an enclosed area?
Yes, I have a "part 2" and it shows it running in a enclosed cabinet that goes on our service truck.
