Little confused, Daren died to combat damage before Noah went off with thassa, unless you're talking about a different point of the game

Lol guess we are both a bit wrong, it should be 4 as malcolm and ragavan both went at Noah, so first strike ragavan makes 2 treasures and the Mike gets 2 more treasures when normal damage happens

We were not sure if Mike got it back after Noah died, rule wise weren't sure if dauthi casting the creature counted as a control effect which would have seedborn go back to Mike. Although I don't believe this to be the case though

I used to have it but I've had people say that they like it without so they can play their own music behind it instead

Well disciple trigger for any artifact and is cheaper so I like it better, as ob doesn't really have many creatures to sac so the extra mana isn't really worth it. I think Noah thought there would be less interaction and ended up just giving him the game though

True we missed that, but griffon was going to dockside loop anyways on his turn so he then can wait till hiddens upkeep and crack a bunch of treasure

True but griffon still would have won on his turn, and even if he didn't he makes infite treasures off his dockside and wins on hiddens upkeep

Sounds like fun, but I don't have really experience with cube, I own an old pauper cube but that hasn't been touched in almost 10 yrs. I know mental misplay brings a cube around to most conventions he attends so he might know more

I think Noah played it correctly, he unfortunately didn't draw into anything good, and he needed to remove Mike's creatures or we would have lost, granted I think he should have gotten tidespout over seedborn

@@DeadOnBoardMTG I agree that Noah should have played the tidespout over seedborn. I do think Noah was too timid in attacking and drawing cards with Tymna and missed draw triggers. Noah should have been over 5 cards deeper off all the draws that were missed or passed on.

I think the biggest mistake of the game, personally, was not using tidespout to bounce the dauthi before the wipe resolved

Yeah - you still had mana for them both, just more chance for them to rip an otawara off a rhystic draw. Ya never know!

No if there were no legal targets, but there was both thassas and the elemental so there was a legal target

@@DeadOnBoardMTG fairly similar, more stax as most lgs's and tourneys are non-proxy events. So people make due with what they have. (We get games like your latest vid a lot too)

No, Kraum took 3 from first strike. Then after Kraum and Slicer both deal damage to each other as regular damage . Kraum will take another 3 and Slicer will take lethal damage and regenerate. If Kraum also had first strike then Kraum would not die because he would deal lethal before regular damage.

robot has double strike and haste veichle has first strike and haste

I think its more just a free roll, since it's an untapped red source, but yeah it also works well for phimage

I want to point out a very small line in wishclaw that was relevant. The card says during your turn not in sorcery speed so you could use it in response to the brain freeze. Yeah the card is weird.

Since we're out here pointing out optimizations, I find the optimal line instead of tutoring for Mana Crypt you grab Jeweled Lotus for a turn 2 Kraum into a turn 3 Tymna. Also holding back on casting Kraum for a chain of Vapor has to be wrong (especially because you didn't pay for Rhystic anyway). I feel like worst case scenario you're blocking with Kraum and get a few draws. Then next turn you have Tymna + Chain of Vapor. Great game though, it was fun to watch. I enjoy watching Blue Farm since it's the best deck in the game. There are so many optional lines, and every card just feels broken.

@@zweis so I thought about the jeweled lotus but I thought that having the permanent mana and getting a tymna with a slicer made more sense than having two mana and Kraum. It was a tough choice though I definitely wasn’t sure what to do, it was a lot of fun

Yes, lol most of the decks I play are fully proxied, that way I can travel with them and not worry about lending them out at events

I think forcing a rhystic is 100% a correct play, most wins are off the back of those types of cards

@@DeadOnBoardMTG No it isn't. You've spent 2 resources to deal with 1 resource that doesn't even stop someones win attempt. It is 100% an incorrect play. You are now down 2 cards while your opponents are down 0-0 and 1 cards. You are MASSIVELY losing out The correct play is letting it resolve and always paying the 1.

Except that never happens and that rhystic draws them a fresh hand which totally screws over not spending the counter spell on it

@@DeadOnBoardMTG Counterspells (and removal) in a multiplayer format have a particularly hefty cost - when you 1 for 1 with another player, you're going down a card vs the other two players. Or in other words, your opponents are now 2 cards up on you. This cost means you generally don't want to use your interaction unless it is to prevent an imminent win, protect your own win, or combat some effect that will put you very far behind (like a stax piece that hurts you more than the other players). Countering the Rhystic is INCORRECT!! By all means keep doing it but this game was the most clunky game of CEDH I have ever watched. I may indeed pose this question/video to Play to WIn and get them to comment on it TBH, this was not even CEDH half the decks/cards are not CEDH viable

Except rhystic is a stax peice that puts you far behind, yes if everyone is responsible then it all work but rarely is that ever the case, on the other hand I've seen plenty of games where they won off the back of rhystic

So hidden bounced it with chain of vapor and then countered the Noah when he tried to copy it

The cursed totem was bounced by the Chain of Vapor, just never physically returned to hand.

Ah sorry the game basically ended there so Noah never picked it up

Griffon and Mike are still new to the format and trying out new decks
