This is an older video, but wanted to post it for reference! On this one, I open up a brand new, sealed, never opened KISS Creatures Of The Night with a barcode sticker! Is it the black Casablanca label or is it the more sought after 83/84 Filmworks label? Watch the video to find out! Follow us @SiplesRecords

It also brings beautiful memories of my youth. KISS brought so much fun back in the mid seventies they were everywhere in the record shops , toy stores, billboards, magazine stands, 7-Eleven stores and TV. It was great.
@@johnoliver189 yes! Thanks for watching!
Very cool kiss 8 track!! I found a rca record club version of kiss their first one like you showed but a 78 copy with a yellow border . 8 tracks used to be 10 cents at flea markets in the 80s 90s but every one has been kinda hanging on to them. Its not easy tracking them down thease days. Cheers!
Great video!! Ahhh i open all my sealed stuff!! Play them records!!!
@@stevekosak8624 thank you! Oh yeah!
Cool Video! The only inserts I'm missing is the Dynasty poster and the peter solo poster. Glad it came with the merch form!! Cheers!
@@stevekosak8624 thanks so much!
You’ll have to do a record collection tour one day. If this is what you took home just in two months, I’m curious to see what you have at home. Also, a video tour of the store would be awesome!
@@mmurphy3608 great idea!
Those Weezer albums are sweet. I love Pinkerton. Might have to grab that one.
Do you peel the hype sticker from the shrink wrap and stick it on a protector sleeve or do you reuse the shrink wrap? If you reuse, how do you open the shrink? I’m always afraid if I use a knife or box cutter to open the shrink wrap that I’ll cut the jacket.
@@mmurphy3608 I normally use a knife on the opening of the jacket. If I'm removing the shrink I always just cut the hype sticker out of the shrink. I'm always afraid that if I go to peel it off, I'll ruin the sticker.
I’m going through all your old videos. These sealed copy videos are awesome. Keep ‘em coming! Lots of fun. You have me looking at all my old vinyl to see which ones I still have all the inserts and forms for. I have a few record club versions but none that would have had any inserts (like HTH and DTK).
@@mmurphy3608 that's great! I really appreciate you watching! Any chance I get to snag an original sealed copy for a decent price I will get it and open it! Do your club issues have a printed CRC on the jacket or a CRC sticker?
@ they are the stamp. And I had less than I thought I did. I thought my Peter Criss and a couple others were from record clubs but I guess not. Unless they had some that didn’t have the stamp or sticker?
@ The solo albums had square CRC stickers only. No stamps. RCA club edition solo albums had RCA stickers on the shrink making them extremely hard to find these days.
@@siplesrecordsah. That might be then. My PC was probably from RCA. I remember getting it last and not wanting to spend much on it. lol
@ smart lol
What’s the deal with the barcode? What does it mean?
@@mmurphy3608 around 83/84 PolyGram reissued the entire KISS catalog with the exception of The Elder. Some of those pressings can be found with a barcode sticker as barcodes were becoming the standard in retail by the early 80's. In 1985 PolyGram started reissuing the KISS catalog again (minus The Elder) with printed barcodes on the jackets. I am going to do videos on both of those press runs soon!
Are the CRC versions considered inferior to other versions?
@@mmurphy3608 there is definitely some debate about that. I have A/B tested a few different albums between CRC, RCA and retail copies with mixed results. Most of the time the club stuff was just as good, but I've had a few that were noticeably bad.
Awesome video. Great idea! I wish I lived close to your shop.
@@mmurphy3608 thanks so much! If you're ever in town you know where to go!

@@alswitzer4147 ugh yeah, that's a bummer!

@@chrisfrancz AWESOME!
I was a huge KISS fan in the 70s. I was 15 years old when "Hotter Than Hell" was released and was the first KISS album that I bought. I kept on being a KISS fan until "KISS unmasked" came out in 1980. I wish I had gotten the 4 solo albums, but I didn't. This video really brought back memories. I still own all my KISS albums it looks like I need to dig them out to see if I still have the inserts.
@@1959blantz happy to dig up some memories for you! Thanks for watching!
Great video! My buddy has the assembled Love Gun. It makes a pretty loud snap. Super fun. He also has the Gene poster from his solo album. It is rectangle only though - no puzzle pieces. I wonder if that was a separate printing? That would be odd though, with the amount that came back. Anyone know the story?
@@machupikachu1085 thanks so much! I know that the Canadian solo albums came with non-puzzle piece posters.
@@siplesrecords Thanks for the reply. That makes sense. He's from Canada LOL
@ HA!
this video makes me want to see the current merch on their website
@@Vince_Tasciotti you should check it out! There are a few good things on there.
For me Alive 2 is the best of their inserts and packaging. With the solos a close second
@@botboy6977 yes, the Alive II stuff is awesome!
Record store up my way will come up and take a list of albums people want from the front of the line back, so no mad rush into the store, or frantic searches for stuff, just get there early and you're pretty much guaranteed to get what you wanted, you go in and grab your pile, pay and head home.
@@PaulFitzgerald-w8h yeah, I've heard of things similar and I might do the same. Thanks Paul!
That’s what one of my local stores does too. It rewards the people who have been in line waiting longer. Of course they get in earlier too. But I missed out on a Coheed Starland Ballroom vinyl last year at a store that doesn’t do this because a guy behind me, who was let in at the same time, grabbed the last one before me. I was lucky enough to get it at the other store though from a friend who was there. But yeah, great idea. Fun video! I have that Rush Time Machine vinyl. It’s a beast. The Animalize album is nice. The colored vinyl looks great. I haven’t opened mine yet but the cover looks great. Just got HITS and it’s nice as well. Love that Dynasty with the bag! Awesome.
Runaway is such a great album
@@Music4thsoul yes it is! Thanks for watching!
Just found you, here in Australia, huge kiss fan, love this 70s insert knowledge. I too thought my solo albums were incomplete with finding only peters insert. Alive II and that disappointing gatefold being sticky, I've had to stick an outer sleeve inbetween just incase.. missing my Kiss Army sticker in my Originals set which is disappointing. You forgot KISS Originals II though with the masks, now that's an awesome set... glad i found you buddy, would love you to do a video and rate the discography.. look forward to more videos...
@@Music4thsoul hello to Australia from Indiana! I unfortunately don't have a nice copy of The Originals II. I was going just off of the US stuff because that is what I mostly collect. I would love to get a complete Originals II though so when I do, I'll make a video about it! So glad you found me too! I was just thinking about doing some ranking video so I'm going to work on that. Thanks for watching!
Animalize has a felt finish. I got mine from the UK site the other day. They package their items so much better than the US store!
Yeah! That's a great way to described it. Like textured felt. The US store is absolutely horrendous! Thankfully, my Animalize shipment was all good. I'm hopeful that they're changing things now since all of the Hot In The Shade and Hotter Than Hell merchandise items have shipped separately from the records.
Dynasty is a classic they needed a hit and were on a disco label so we f courser I was made which is there biggest song ever. The rest of the album is rock and real gems, dirty living,sure,2000 man, charisma ,great album cover
@@vegasraiderspetef9883 I totally agree. The people that say it's a disco album haven't listened to it. Magic Touch is one of the greatest KISS songs of all time. Lots of great rock stuff on here. Thanks for watching!
Peter left the band shortly after shandi music video. Anton fig played on dynasty as well. Eric Carr joined kiss for the unasked era. Peter was on the cover so they could sell albums.
@@nealhanna5609 yup! Anton played on all of Dynasty except for Dirty Livin' and all of Unmasked.
