      Thanks for the comment. I'm actually working on a video about showing how much the spacers helped. I'm going to use a crane scale and measure in pounds how much more force is needed to tip the tractor. I'm still trying to figure out a way to measure it in degrees of slope. Unfortunately for me, I'm going to have to remove all 4 spacers, test, and put them all back on to test again. Should make for an interesting video.

    • @ya472
      @ya472 Месяц назад

      @@BaznastyDave It is NOT about how much force to lift the tractor from LEVEL ground, but at what ANGLE is the tipping point. The difference of ANGLE when fully tilted to tip-over, is the crucial data. Tip over during actual use is often dependent on terrain , obstacles and angle.

    • @ya472
      @ya472 Месяц назад

      @@BaznastyDave What I believe most people relate to, when mowing on a level surface and a rear tire hits a 6" boulder, tipping is less likely with the wider stance. This situation is more difficult to prove, unless one installs anti-tip over wheels? I suppose one would have to increase boulder size, until the BX actually rolls over center and would tip?

    Ballasting tires should only be done on machines with a mechanical drive train, Hydostatic drives, it will kill your machine, it's not made to move that much weight or stop that much weight this is why it is usually done on large loaders, graders etc... and if you are going to do, use beet juice, wont rust rims and wont freeze

    • @Justthemow

      Nothing you said is true. I have a John Deere 4 series, with a hydro transmission. It tells you right in the John Deere manual to add liquid ballast to the tires or you will not be able to lift full capacity on your bucket. Washer fluid is non corrosive and will actually protect the rim from rusting.

    Is a couple of things to take caution using washer fluid. There are properties within that are caustic. Also can eat on rubber, so your valve stem will be the first to fail. Some of your cheaper variations are heavy on the water and will freeze in the winter. As a suggestion, I would not leave in tires year round.

    • @BaznastyDave

  • @robert5
    @robert5 Месяц назад

    DON'T DO THIS: I have a Kubota tractor and I can advise you .... Don't put liquid in your rear tires for ballast. Here is why, the rear tires will now ride rock hard because the rear tire with air is your only spring or rear suspension and with mostly fluid in the tire there is no spring or flex left because fluid does not compress like air. I have a mid mower deck and my rear tires came filled with beat juice. It is HORRIFIC on by back, it hammers my back like a sledge hammer directly to my spine above a crawl while mowing. I found this video while looking for a good way to get this garbage OUT of my tires. I will make a rear ballast holder and mount it up when needed to the rear 3 point.

    • @BaznastyDave

    • @robert5
      @robert5 Месяц назад

      @@BaznastyDave They are at 15 psi. Just so much less volume of air to act as a spring. I guess it probably only matters if you mow frequently with the tractor. My lawn is bumpy so if my back is in good shape it is just irritating. Couple months ago I popped 2 disc in my back. Matters a LOT more now. I have to mow at 3 mph now or I cant take the pounding. I am making a bead breaker and gonna dump that beat juice.

      Thats not how it works even if you fill the tires up completely with water and it’s at 12-14 psi the tires will ride the same as if it was 12-14 psi of air it’s the pressure in the tire that makes it hard or soft not the water or air. Just look at a water ballon it’s soft and pliable but if you fill it up to much it becomes hard and pops let the air down to 12 psi that’s all it needs and you will have a better ride

      Yeah it was in low. The Kioti is the heaviest tractor in this frame size. Great for loader work but it is harder to get it moving. 2,308lb tractor, 605lb loader, 30lb tooth bar, 342lbs of rim guard tire ballast (when both rears are full), and a 175lb scrape blade comes in at 3,460lbs or so. I chose the Kioti since it was the heaviest compact and had by far the largest hydraulic pump at 11.3 GPM. If it had a 3 speed trans like the CK2610 it would be a beast. High gear is about useless unless it's on flat ground. Hopefully when I tune the engine back to 35hp it will solve that problem.

    I see you said idle was at 1500, you should run around 2000 its easier on the pumps. Fyi, i got one too.👍

      Yeah at 1,500rpms and no auto throttle it's a little weak. I have the auto throttle engaged in the vid, anytime I give it gas it revs up past 1,500rpms.

    I think if you crown your driveway the washout will be a thing of the past. I used a grader scraper tool with one side adjusted about 3/8 lower on one side. Make pass down drive and gravel is pulled to the center on the way back it does the same. My drive is 480 feet long and no issues at all.

      100% agree, having a crown will divert all water to either side. I just need to buy some more gravel and rework it.

    Linked pedal?

    • @BaznastyDave
      @BaznastyDave 3 месяца назад

      It's like an auto throttle. Set rpms to whatever you want and when you press forward or reverse on the hydrostatic trans the engine revs up. The further you press the pedal the further the engine revs up. When you release the pedal the engine goes back down to whatever you have the rpms set at. You can turn it on or off.

    Cool to see this model getting more attention - often it's skipped over for the CS or CK (2610+), but it's a "Goldilocks" tractor for some people/situations. Those that need more than a CS but dont have the room/work to justify a larger frame CK.

    Did you have to hook up a relay I’m new to the wiring of these things and I’m using a pulse bar plug but it won’t shut off

    • @BaznastyDave
      @BaznastyDave 4 месяца назад

      The pulse bar is effectively a large 40amp relay. The pulse bar plug will have 3 wires. A ground, a constant hot, and a switched hot. The red wiper motor wire will go from the motor, through your on/off wiper switch, and into the switched hot on the pulse bar. The black motor wire will go to any ground/negative. The white motor wire will go to the switched hot on the pulse bar. Anytime the key to the SXS is off, there is no power to any wires. Anytime the key is on, the motors white wire will have power and the red wire will only have power when you flip the on/off switch.
