    Pretty neat you taking this apart to get it working again. Thanks for posting. Also, if you do this a lot, you should get yourself a set of thread chasers to clean the threads with instead of the cutters because those threads on the 1/2 13 bolt are way too loose so I hope you put some thread locker on it.

    Hey bro , I really like your video! My grandpa gave me an old No.7 mower about a year ago and I’ve been restoring it. I’m about to the stage of painting it and I was wondering if you used primer or just straight paint. I got a good deal on a gallon of Majic paint and I’m not sure if I needed primer or not. Thanks for your time!

    • @coyotecolors
      @coyotecolors Год назад

      That’s a good question it’s always a good idea to prime any type of metal you are painting however, there are some paints out there that can be directly applied to metal. because they have the primer mixed in with it. I would also highly suggest trying to sandblast it, making sure the paint can get to freshly cleaned metal

      @@coyotecolors hey thanks for the reply! I’ve been cleaning everything with a wire brush on a angle grinder and drill. I’ve asked a few people that have painted tractors, equipment, etc and they said to prime everything. Just one more question, I was thinking about getting a needle scaler to sandblast some parts. I would try getting a independent sandblaster sprayer that hooks up to an air compressor. Make sure you have one that has a very big compression rate and get very good media for spraying all the metal some thing that’s pretty course.

    Hi and thank you for the video. I just purchased my first tractor. I've never operated one before. I have a drainage ditch that is about 300 feet long, 4 feet wide, and 4-5 feet deep. In a different area, I have a 45 degree bank that is about 6 feet tall. I want to keep the grass, weeds, and saplings cut down. I have a brush hog but it can't get at the areas. I'm thinking about getting a sickle mower to do these jobs. A new sickle mower can cost over $6,000. That is about 3 grand more than I can afford. I see some old sickle mowers online for around $1,500-$2,000. Since I know nothing about them, should I stay away from the used mowers? Do you have any recommendations?

    • @coyotecolors
      @coyotecolors 2 года назад

      Hi good question the newer sickle mower all they really have that are different from the older ones are hydraulic lifts. If you don’t mind spending the extra money the newer ones are somewhat easier to use but you can get a nice cheap sickle mower that’s old for around a couple hundred dollars they’re not expensive at all. Starting out if you decide to use a sickle mower and use it a lot for deep ditches like you say you may want to invest in a newer one
