I drove one of these from Texas for a sick friend.Stuck in a hospital out there back in the late 80s, heavy equipment hauler. The vibration stopped at a red light could feel it though my hair. Once on the road smooth cruising 75 low RPM what a beast. Not good fuel mileage, but the machinery it hauled was millions of 1980s dollars probably Billions in todays dollars .Space Center equipment.

Could you make a ride along video with it. Usually your videos have really good sound quality. Ive been to find a video of one of these engines running and revving with jakes but all of them are really bad quality.

More cylinders, more power! Running 80000# with 16 is more efficient, than 12 or 8! Each additional cylinder means that the engine doesn't need to work as hard. An Interstate mountain climber!!

At least his exhaust is going out a stack or 2 behind the cab. When I was in the Regular Army I drove a 10-ton tractor that had the dual exhaust’s coming out just in front of the quarter fenders. Talk about LOUD!!! And the trucks were geared so low that you couldn’t get going fast enough to get the noise behind you. This I think is how I got my 10% VA disability for my hearing loss.

I may miss the sound, but I don’t miss the gutless hill power or sleeping in those cracker box sleepers

My uncle had a 352 cabover about the same year but Cummins powered. Spent many happy days and nights bouncing around the country with him when I was young. Great memories.
