Start by insulating the van properly first. I would use 2 forms of heat the first one would be a good diesel heater. The second one would be a mini wood stove, and you could use wood and fire logs in order to achieve a longer burning time.

Mr Buddy is is great. But a Diesel Heater is the best. I live in a Camper and I heated with Buddy heater the first couple years. Teal i bought a Diesel Heater. No condensation . with it.

Get a CO2 monitor too!

A clay pot and plate and a candle put the candle on the clay plate and put the planter pot upside down over the top of the candle The candle will heat the pot and radiate heat from the pot

1st step would be to totally insulate the van so you can keep the heat inside the van... Electric blankets...

Last year I heated with the buddy heater, but it produced way too much moisture. This year I'm using a diesel heater and it's a lot better. Picked up a Vevor heater and I run it 24/7

Those puzzle mats are a good idea for a floor. You can just drop sheet vinyl from the home improvement store on top of it easily. Makes a nice warm floor.

Be careful folks, in tents/cars/vans/tiny or BIG houses. Carbon Monoxide is NO joke, if its too cold, find safe shelters, make an emergency plan. Get a Carbon Monoxide alarm. In the '80s I had friends in a Big nice home, bought one on clearance, had it in the fireplace room far from the leaky heater. Everyone had been tired, sore, a few days after they set it up it went off in the night, saved their lives. Elderly couple eating burgers in their car with heater on in the '70s, just fell asleep. Now so many families living in vans & tiny houses, it's terrible, so stay safe. AND if you have an empty room, or garage to lend, even if its just for a bit during these cold spells, please share.

While your at square one, insulate your floors and walls first with the reflextice and then with the foam panels, but on the floor put down the 3/4" plywood and that will be your base for building

I think you both are so stuck on being inside the van for everything, but right at the end of your video you got it❤Your kitchen needs to be outdoors,maybe have an awning for weather etc,your living room should be outdoors mostly too once you have your camping chairs out there and an outdoor rug it will look so nice ,the van is for sleeping and driving.And when you just need privacy lol(Mommy &Daddy time)😂

I have a magic chef 2 burner propane stove top i hook to a 20 gl. propane tank, in my high top and i simply use one burner for heat and it sips propane and keeps me comfy, had it for 15 years never one problem with it, plan to try a diesel heater maybe next year

Regarding prep there are portable prep stations that include small storage, containers, cutting boards, and whatnot. I have one called a Prep Deck that was designed for on the go prep. Could do a planned meal prep for the a couple of days out the week at a camp site, grills at public parks, etc.

After you place 2 seats with seat belts for your children space will be very limited. A set of 2 narrow bunk beds in the back to sleep a family of 4. Storage under the bottom 2 bunks. leaving a very narrow isle down the middle. Mabe bring a tent, on rainy days to live out of the van not in it. Storage container on a rear tow hitch maybe storage on the front of the van also or roof top storage. 4 people will have lots of Stuff very excited to see your future travel videos.
