It's pretty complicated, but basically 1470 DaN which is approx 1470 kg static load. But there also cyclical tests and sled deceleration tests.

The problem is that if we go higher then when your tailgate is open you wont be able to slide anything in and out of the tub so its quite impractical.@brianthomas5992

We have a rain seal available for those who don't have any sort of cover over the tub/bed. In Australia most people have a canopy or tonneau cover, but this seems less common in the USA and many people run with open beds.
