​@activecontrolsllc ok I have 2 Wen inverter 4k peak 3500 rated generators. Each have a 30 amp plug I can plug in my TT and have and it works my camper. I also have the parallel kit to connect both and end up with a 50 amp plug. I intend to install a 50 amp plug on my house going to either a panel interlock or a 50 amp interlock switch panel. Now. I am wondering if I should get a 50 amp plug starter. And I have seen the app and can this be used with one of my gens with the 30 amp plug and an adapter for my camper as well as the whole house? Possibly a single gen on the house as needed? Both not needed most of the time

@@joegifford1668 Yes. That is correct. I have another video showing that running on my house as well. Having the wired version on the home AC combined with the 50 amp unit I can easily run my whole house on my 7500 peak generator. The best solution is with the wired unit on the AC which allows you to use a smaller generator instead of like a 13KW or 15KW.

Yes. It will work very nicely on the predator. I have another customer that was able to start 4 ton on a 9kw generator on propane in eco-mode! I was actually blown away by the results!

Did the AC have a wired dedicated soft start attached? Of did the active start run the AC by itself?

@@activecontrolsllc I dont onow if your bluetooth protcol is open, allowing devices to parse the data it provides to the phone app. Home Assistant is a community driven home automation service which allows its users to check on device status and even create automations based on events. Imagine if both you hot water and ac are on and you have automatic transfer switch turn on generator and your device shows it load and you create an automation based on generator is on and hot water and AC to turn off hot water heater during power outages.

@@TravisPickle Our protocol isn't open right now but have things in the works for some future integration with some automation planned maybe utilizing digital controlled breakers.

i think the 30 amp would be better because you would have to convert the 50amp plug for the portable generator

Is the low voltage fault from the Bluetti or the Rolli Cool? Normally after a unit starts its the running amps that the power source has to be able to handle and this case the Bluetti. Our devices only reduce the startup surge not the running amps. If it trips low voltage right away than reducing the surge will help in that scenario. I am currently testing my inverter model for this type of application.

@@activecontrolsllc I'm pretty sure it's on the Bluetti end. The compressor tries to start and the 200max faults right away. The 200 resets the inverter ( the DC loads stay on so it's not a hard crash) when it comes up again the AC will try again after a few mins sometimes it works other times this cycle repeats and eventually starts. Since it seems strained I haven't used it with the 200. My fear is it will get to temp turn off and won't restart or go into this false start cycle.

@@nrogers901 Hi Nathan... The things that may effect your results are altitude if you are at any elevation remember your generator output is decreased by 3.5% every 1000 ft. The other item that may change the results is the run capacitor on your unit if it has an issue. Lastly it could our starter as well. Can you tell me your exact symptoms. What faults are you getting in the app?

Hi Charlie...absolutely they can. I worked at Dometic Marine to introduce variable speed technology in the marine AC space and I know the RV division was also working on it as well. Most RV OEM's do not want to pay extra right now for the technology although the consumer does. Once solar powered inverters become more popular they will quickly have to adapt!

Hello...Yes you can although I am surprised you need it with that size generator. The 30 amp comes with dogbone and 20 amp with bonding plug standard. I would select the 3000 watt setting for best results.

What size is your rooftop unit? I have done some testing with my Bluetti but it really depends on the size of the unit. I have also mentioned the best solution is the wired version for inverter applications.

Yes it will work with a refrigerator as well if running on a generator but not on a solar generator or small inverter setup.

Hi...If you tried both the 2000 watt generator and 2000 inverter settings with no luck please give me a call so we can troubleshoot further. Are you getting any faults? Based on that size generator you do not need the 30 amp version.

Yes it can but I have a product coming out specifically for well pumps. This unit will be very expensive just for that application.

Hi..I have done some testing with the Bluetti with success but it really depends on the inverter and if it can handle that momentary surge and how many other things you have running when the AC starts. Hard to say with a 15K BTU. You are welcome to try it and if it doesn't work we can process a return. In these cases I tell customers the wired version is the best option for inverters.

@@activecontrolsllc thanks for the response! Yeah seems like the solar generators aren't quite there yet to power AC efficiently but maybe a few years down the road it will be good! Either way I definitely want to get one of these when traveling and using campsites. I've had a lot of friends recommending it!

The change I made for his unit had to do with the low voltage detect time and there is no GFCI circuit integrated in our unit.

@@aericadiponzio3965 Hi it really depends on your AC size. The champion 2000 is a good generator but it will not start a 15K btu and a 13.5K will be close but a wired version that we also offer will make it seamless for the 2000 watt generator regardless of the AC size.

What do you mean by "door start"?

I think what Tony is asking is why don't the manufacturers install soft starts themselves on the units or have the capabilities built in. I guess one could argue the variable units do.

Hi Bobby, If you have a Heat Pump the unit will work the same way to start your compressor. A heatpump just has a reversing valve for the refrigerant flow but the actual compressor will start in the same fashion any typically draws a little more in heat mode due to the pressure but we will still softstart it the same way.

Hi Bill, I completely agree with you as this was one of our first videos and I wanted the viewers to know and hear the generators running and it didn't turn out quite like what I was wanting....lesson learned! I've had other customers ask me this question about the pumps and as long as your pump has a PSC motor you can use a softstart on it. That is basically a Run Capacitor installed on it. We have just launched the ACS4W40 and the 16 will follow in March.

Hi Stacy, Thankyou and these are great questions. I was actually going to do another video this week to help users pick what's best for the application. In this case the ACS30P is only for 115 VAC application which means it would not work well for your house. The wired version directly on the AC would be the best option for the home with current offerings and you will be able to run that unit off of your generator without any issues. I am planning the same thing for my house and that will be another video coming soon. I have the 50 amp version of the plug and play that will be available in Feb timeframe that will handle the rest of the house and could be wired with transfer switch as you have described and give complete emergency backup capability without the need for an extremely large generator.
