You're in denial if you think Gogeta was made canon just to be Vegito's second fiddle, even for the movie they stated he's equally matched with Vegito and frankly Gogeta has displayed much, much better scaling

Fusion dance has never been stated to be equal to a potara fusion. Vegito has more power albeit slight, he has double the time limit ( don't be that guy to bring up the Vegito defuse, that was only due to poor energy handling that would also defuse gogeta), Vegito's ultimate attack final Kamehameha can be deduced to be stronger than big bang Kamehameha since final flash is more powerful than big bang attack. The newer Broly movie also seems to have skewed a lot of people's opinion as well but what some people seem to forget is that Gogeta blue's appearance happened much later the Vegito blue and not only that but it was after the TOP which propelled both Vegeta and Goku massively in power meaning a Vegito appearance post TOP would also be many times more powerful than during the Zamasu fight. Finally, the only scaling that happens with fusions is based on the two individuals fusing base power so where do you get that Gogeta has better scaling, they both have the same scaling except Gogeta has to take a power hit that Vegito doesn't so Vegito scaling is higher if you wanna walk that road at all.

Vegito defused because the Potara couldn't handle his strength in Blue form. And yes, in theory the fusion dance has these power and time constraints as well, but Gogeta was able to do much more than Vegito despite using the same power level (or higher, considering he appeared arcs later) The Big Bang Kamehameha is always depicted as being stronger than the Final Kamehameha in every piece of official DB media in existence. Gogeta has a higher scaling because the highest you can get Vegito is SSB level in base using the manga, which is the minimum for Gogeta's base. In the anime Vegito is just straight up worse, struggling with Merged Zamasu who moments prior was being overpowered by the Father-Son Galick Gun, Goku's full power Kamehameha and Blue Kaioken, and later was bodied by SS Rage Future Trunks using the energy of a handful of people on Earth 🤦‍♂️ yeah, Vegito Blue was putting in work to try and defeat this dude. To say Gogeta isn't Vegito's equal when he outright has better showings would be disingenous

Bruh, he defused because he used final Kamehameha which draws more energy and is more powerful than any attack gogeta uses. Canonically Vegito using the potara has always been more powerful. Your head canon doesn't matter, Toriyama himself said it, and in case you forgot he created dragon ball as a whole so I don't know what orifice you're pulling all this from. You also neglected to pay attention to the fact that I stated that both Vegeta and Goku were leagues stronger in the Broly movie than they were in the Zamasu arc, I don't know why everyone ignores that. If both of the base parts of the fusion are stronger and have a higher limit to their energy the fusion will enjoy the same benefit. So no that's not "conceding" anything but nice try. The blue being Vegito's max and Gogeta's start is also incorrect, just cause Gogeta shows up already in blue doesn't mean his limit is higher, clearly you haven't watched much DragonBall if you think that the strongest characters just start off in their peak form blue is the max we've seen from either of them yet so how and when they choose to use it is irrelevant. Gogeta is inherently weaker whether or not it's by much as stated by the creator and that's a tough pill to swallow I see.
