Thanks for this! I was unhappy using my capo on my Taylor GS Mini. I thought the neck was going to snap under the tension. Ha. Glad there was a simple solution to flip the rubber boot for a little more clearance.

The Kyser company stands on "godly principles" ???? My Kyser capo broke and they won't honor their "lifetime warranty". That doesn't sound like "godly principles" to me.

I do occasionally adjust my Shubb capo and I don’t find it to be a problem. A capo that comes out of the box completely unusable like a Kyser is a bigger problem to me…

Or buy one of any of a number of capos actually and sensibly designed to be adjusted.

Thumbs up for me I stretched it out somehow just because I saw this and it made me fuss more with it (it's my spare guitar and spare capo but I'm glad it somehow tightened I kind of opened its mouth wider and jiggled the spring and voila !

I had the opposite issue on my Cordoba Mini 2 - The keyser just did not have enough tension to get rid of the buzzing. No amount of fiddling would make it work.

As a classical guitarist, I was wondering how I could turn my knock-off $3 acoustic capo into a classical capo by doing this. Unfortunately, I got what I paid for, and the boot snapped off after bending the slightest little bit. Half-heartedly hoping the superglue holds😬 Looking into an adjustable Flanger right now. Lol. Lesson learned 😂😂 Edit: superglue will NOT fix a busted capo 😂😂aaarrgh

I believe the second bending wasn’t a good adjustment mechanism as it is not a stepwise adjustment , nor it is reversible ..

Great - I reversed the rubber boot and used a multigrip plier to adjust the handle. Now I can operate it with one hand ;-)

Mitch, thank you for this video! I had no idea that the rubber boot was reversible, so that's the first mod I performed on my Kyser. Then a little tweaking of the arm angle made this thing the perfect tension for my Godin two-voice guitar. I have 3 Kyser capos (as well as a couple other brands) and I love the K's for their quick on and off, but always struggled with the tension on some guitars vs. others. As with many things, a little minor adjustment was all that was needed.

Capo just snapped trying to adjust it...

There may be some admirable things about this company, but the design of their capos is not one of them. They come tighter than would work well on any instrument I've owned, and the "adjustments" in this video require some serious strength.. I can't even get the boot off mine to reverse it. Biggest problem is, there are so many other companies with great capo designs that are a breeze to tension adjust quickly and precisely.

Now that it's stretched way too much, the only way to make it tighter again is to completely disassemble the capo, or you have ruined it ? Because using force to bend open the spring rod is quite easy, but you can't "overclose" it to actually make it tighter again, can you ? At 30$ a pop, it would kind of suck to ruin one just because we tried making a "non-adjustable" capo "adjustable".. yeah
