Nagra T-AUDIO Sound Machine of the Month
This month the Swiss National Sound Archives presents the famous Nagra T-Audio, a transportable two-track analogue recorder. The device was introduced by the Swiss company Nagra Kudelski SA in 1981 and was produced in several models until 1994. By combining different tape speeds and EQ settings, the Nagra TA can be programmed for different tape types, speeds, and equalization parameters. It uses a Twin-capstan tape transport system that handles tapes (with reels up to 26 cm in diameter) with a delicacy never before seen in a studio recorder.
Initially intended for the record mastering industry, the Nagra TA was later modified for use in radio and film studios.

Mail-A-Voice model BK-503
Просмотров 2964 месяца назад
This month's sound machine is the Mail-A-Voice BK-503. The device made it possible to magnetically record short audio content onto special flexible discs that could then be easily folded and mailed like a normal letter, but with sound. Produced by 'The Brush Development Company' (Cleveland, Ohio), it approached sound recording on a magnetic medium in a completely new way. Its sound carrier is a...

The LaserDisc was the first optical disc home video and video recording standard, created in 1978 and discontinued in the 2000s. It consists of a disc of plastic materials similar to CD or DVD, from which it differs in analog operation, the ability to be recorded on both sides, and its larger size, comparable to that of a 33-rpm vinyl record. The LaserDisc contains the video data in analog form...

Супер аппарат! это вершина для 6 мм ленты ! мечта а не аппарат
Nice customized unit with the headblock from a T-Instrumentation populated with full track, half track stereo DIN and quarter track heads. The T-Audio was available with predistortion circuits as an option (not installed on the machine in the video, but the record chain is useless now that there are no erase and record heads on the headblock). Excellent machine to extract the best out of a tape. I have 5 units all perfectly restored and working.
Very interesting! Some years ago I’ve restored this old Assmann tube recorder which can work also with mailable discs. ruclips.net/video/U6TbxT2uTS0/видео.htmlsi=gKHRM9JJIx6aOzoU
Loved to work with this machine!
Can it play back DASH tapes on Sonys version and vica-versa?
русским не показывайте, обгадят, как обычно
Всегда считал что только студийная техника это просто для настоящей музыки,качество без компромиссов .
SUPER!!!!
Анализатор бомба!👍
Could You Find any Crappier music To use for the Audio?😢🌪😱📛📉🐘
Unreal…
Wow!
Un vrai bijou ce Nagra 😮
Wow what a machine ,I wonder how much this tape deck cost when first produced
Considerably more than a top-of-the-line new Mercedes-Benz
This video is a mess. As a person interested in these devices you have ABSOLUTELY no chance to admire the machine or see it properly working. It´s just a bunch of fast cuts and edits accompanied by terrible "music". You don´t even get a chance to read the captions properly. What a shitty way to demonstrate a rell to rell recorder. You did a very bad job.
❤❤❤pretty magnetic tape.How much is it?🤩
A lot!
Wow ce masinarie perfecta. Nagra un nume de legenda din industrie. 🙏
Just got one at a garage sale for $250
Was für eine Maschine!!!

Explain what sound they are trying to capture here.
Magnifique magnéto pro 24 pistes 😊
What great machinery ✨
Wait! Wait? Real time coding and decoding in 1982!?
Yes. Digital recordings have been made since mid-70s, storing the data using analogue tapes like this one, even before CDs were a thing. If you seek for Telarc vinlys, for example, you'll see records as early as 1976 marketed as digital.
Mmmm😊
We had the Webster that looked exactly like this, embedded in an audio cabinet and with a radio receiver. Somehow, the radio and phono/wire amp were hooked up together, so that it actually broadcast what you were listening to. We had a lady across the street from us who could tune in to our Webster and hear which music we were listening to.
What was the highest sample rate for this digital reproducer ? 16bit / 48 kHz ?
incredible frequency response for a recording made mid to late 1920s.
Great machine! Had to mute the music though...
My Pioneer CLD-99 is dead silent while playing laserdiscs. My Panasonic LX-900 which is a good player is a bit noisey in comparison. Now nothing is as noisey as the original XBOX 360 which sounds like a vaccum cleaner with how loud it blows out hot air. Also, there's no hot air being blown out that I know of in laserdisc players which means it probably doesn't generate enough heat to be an issue at least with these newer mid and late 90s players. The noise from my Panasonic LX-900 is the noise because of the disc spinning fast. Apparently Pioneer did a better job at dampening the noise at least with the CLD-99. I forget what my CLD-53 and CLD-3080 sound like since I haven't used them in awhile. There's pros and cons to each laserdisc player. Pioneer Players while some consider the best were notorious at CLV Smearing and the Panasonic LX-900 revision 1995 I have does little to no smearing or it's not as noticeable as it is on Pioneer players. However, the image is about 5 percent cut off on the right side of the screen on my Panasonic LX-900 revision 1995. This is a known defect with this player but overall it's a great player and considered one of the top of the line players. The Pioneer Elite CLD-99 and Panasonic LX-900 both are rated at high end players. Both may give off slightly different video quality too meaning the colors might be slightly different on each player. Actually, I know the reds are different on each player because I've compared it on lddb's website in the screenshots section.
👌🏼
Very very expensive and rare piece of gear.
“This song sounds french”
whats the song of this?
Better than my hifi
24 Kanäle auf 2" Band? Die sind dann kaum breiter, als beim 1/4" Spulenband mit 4 Spuren.
Ja und deshalb auch Dolby A an Bord.
Great machine made in Switzerland.
Same standard as Webster Chicago?
Nettes Teil für die Küche!
Price
