Sellenick - Marche Indienne [1879] (w/ Score)

A mediocre piece by a composer who doesn't even warrant a footnote in music history, transcribed for band. What it has to do with India is anyone's guess. We played this in my high school band in junior year. The clarinet solo (which, as far as I can tell, is transposed up an octave from the piano version shown here) gave a heart attack to the clarinet principal in our band. Performance is by t...
Atterberg - Symphony 3 "Pictures of the West Coast" [1916] (w/ Score)

CONDUCTOR: Sixten Ehrling ORCHESTRA: Malmo Symphony Orchestra I decided to create a new score video, since my previous one had only a single page per slide (this one has 2). Con fuoco. 7:33 III: Sommarnatt. Adagio. 18:40 Atterber...

Richard Strauss - Horn Concerto No. 1 in Eb Major, Op. 11 [1882] (Full Score)
Thank you for uploading the score. This is also another orchestral works by Atterberg that I love. The score is not an orchestral version but a piano version, but it is very instructive in terms of orchestration and compositional techniques. Atterberg's works are sometimes mistakenly evaluated as somewhat "Megalomaniacal," but I don't think so. His works are all delicate, graceful, and dynamic. It is easy to criticize, but creating is a task hundreds of times more difficult. A comment from an unknown composer from Okinawa JAPAN.
Unbelievable beautiful!
Certainly, the score has been upgraded to two sheets and the resolution has improved since the last edition. And as you said, the performance and sound are excellent. I respect your efforts in this way. This information is very useful for us musicians. Thank you very much. A comment from an unknown composer from Okinawa JAPAN.
Thanks, appreciate it. Good luck in your endeavors.
Was this inspired by Beethoven's Symphony No. 9? It's a large-scale symphony with soloists and choruses, but unfortunately, I can't understand the Swedish lyrics. The compositional techniques are esoteric, and the music is long, so it will probably take a long time for general music lovers and foreigners to understand it, due to the language barrier and cultural and historical awareness.
Is it the composer's handwritten score? But is this wonderful piece unpublished? If so, I would be surprised. This piece seems to use the motif of Swedish folk songs, but it has a unique lightness to it. For an Asian me, I think Swedish folk songs themselves are wonderful. This piece is beautifully finished into a symphony with Atterberg's skillful orchestration, and it will one of the greatest masterpieces of the Swedish symphony, fully demonstrating the splendor of Atterberg's unique string and brass ensemble.
I am an unknown composer. I have listened to Atterberg's symphonies and many other works on other RUclips sites. However, I could not find your site, which is the only site where the scores are uploaded until now. I was really lucky to find your site. I really appreciate you uploading the scores. I realize that it takes a long time for classical music to become accessible to the general public.
I am an unknown composer. Symphony No. 4 with its sudden intense rhythm and melody. Thank you for uploading. Atterberg's music has often been criticized as being "Much a fuss over nothing," but I think that is completely wrong. The fact that he was able to write so many pieces while working other jobs in his life is nothing but proof that he was a genius who put in a lot of hard works.
I'm an unknown composer.No.2 is dynamic and wonderful symphony. Thank you for uploading the score. This site uploading will be great study of orchestration. Swedish dynamism is truly wonderful. I think Atterberg is the pride of Sweden and not only that, he is the pride of classical music in the world.
I am an unknown composer from Okinawa. Wow~! This is the score for my favorite Symphony No. 5! Thank you for uploading the score. I really wanted to see the score for Symphony No. 5. I have been paying attention to this composer for over 10 years. However, as a composer, ATTERBERG is still not highly regarded around the world. I hope that ATTERBERG's reputation will be properly raised in the future.

Are there other examples of symphonies where singing is introduced in the last movement or later movements? Beethoven's 9th comes to mind, but I don't know if this is typical.
Mahler's second and third come to mind. Both are worth a listen, if you haven't heard them already.
Rare, not typical.
Vaughan Williams 1st symphony has singing in all movements. A remarkable work.
This symphony is so legendary that it led to destruction of Nottingham
Fantastic performance.
I have this on NAXOS label but not to this magnitude, this is a sheer brilliance
21:20 Siegfried
Genial obra!
Can't help it but 1830s are unconsciously connected with Symphonie Fantastique. Lachner wrote nice symphony but Berlioz was way ahead of his time
The legend says that the orchestra indeed managed to catch their train after the performance…
The gorgeous opening theme-cinematic!👌
Brilliant. Captures the heroic and mysterious aspects of the Atterberg...
This is a truly great symphony.
Gosh, that ending is stunningly beautiful. Majestic, hopeful, proud. Hands down, one of the most overlooked composers of the twentieth century.
Hiw to butcher a masterpiece with the wrong tempi. I usually love Jarvi, but this will come in handy in my conductor class to demonstrate the importance of tempi...
One of the greatest finales of all time
Boris Afanasiev Principal Horn of Moscow Radio Symphony Orchestra
Phenomenal music!
Magnífica
Thanks for making this beautiful clarinet concerto available. I love it. Best regards.
Noble Gnu, are still sending gift to us. Or is all finito...... 😢
I'm still around, but I've kind of run out of ideas for scores that are both publicly available and haven't been done by other youtubers. If I think of some, I'll post them eventually.
Brilliant your choices of composer but the volumen is low that we missed a lot músic. Grazie.
Strange....but for some reason it happens sometimes on RUclips......BRAVO anyway.....from MEXICO!
By the way: where could I find the physical score? I know you mentioned classical music archive, but typing that into google brings up a lot of dead ends for me.
Thank you so much for uploading this!

This symphony is legendary
I can't believe how good this us. I heard 2symphonies and had to check out more.
Thanks for posting this beautiful work with the score. Who is the clarinetist? Best regards.
Sounds like Per Billman. Cheers from Mexico!
What a fascinating work. When a composition like this, (which admittedly has its longueurs) , is performed with such outstanding artists it suddenly becomes something quite special. . Thanks for the upload of a symphony I’ve never encountered before.

🎹 Absolutely gorgeous music. Sadly, rarely performed.
Yes, another great work that could be sometimes substituted for a “standard” symphony receiving its ten thousandth performance.
@@paullewis2413 Scriabin's modernist style was devoid of the musical genius that went before him and he is certainly overrated. He falls around 300 on a list of composers far more accomplished (and many less well known) than he.
Where he falls in the list of composers you mentioned is of absolutely no relevance to me and I’m sure many others. Sure this symphony doesn’t measure up to the finest, however it’s overall extremely enjoyable and that’s what listening to music is fundamentally all about. Don’t understand where the overrated comes from as I’ve only ever heard one work of his performed live.
Wonderful playing. I’ve never heard of Boris Afanasiev, but wow.
Why are the cymbals played so strangely at the beginning of the final movement
Thank you, Noble GNU.
This has been added to my growing favorite symphonies collection which has exploded because of RUclips.
Mediocre, sure. It's still at least as good as the majority of what is consumed daily.
Very nice ❤❤
I have to say the work lived up to its title.
Who is the conductor of this recording?
Thanks for posting this recording ! Any chance to get the copy of this score for the research needs?
can you share the score? can not find it, and want to study it
