I’m like well this game warrants the hate it gets lol but It also deserves all the love it gets and more . The music is catchy and gets stuck in your head, I liked powering up and feeling how link was getting stronger. Save states were the only way I was able to pass this cause I just could NOT sometimes lmao. This game is nice to replay every so often. Great video!

Looking forward to seeing what this game is like, since I'm not really one to gather a group for multiplayer outings I've never actually played this one before. I also had forgotten that early 00's were so rich in Zelda-projects between this, Oracle-games and Wind Waker and Minish Cap. Very, very different times...

7:51 The map concept art comes from the 1991 comic book Bone. It's a map of the valley from the book series. It was probably lifted from one of the scholastic colorized editions coming out during the 2000s.

@@legendaryadventurespod Since this book came out, no one has ever pointed that out. Granted, I never looked too hard at the book myself until the Four Swords season was coming up. But being a fan of Bone, I noticed all the names on the map and realized where I saw all them. It's kind of like a secret in plain sight.

I had the GameCube version where each person used their GBA as the controller connected via one of the docks for the GameCube (if I remember correctly). I played it with my brother's and we loved it. The overworld was all shown on the large screen, but if you went into a building that would transfer to your personal GBA. It really created a great balance of team work on the big screen and personal exploration on the little screen.

Two things that prove to me that The Legend of Zelda is open-world: 1. Of the 128 overworld screens, only two require an item of any kind to reach. While extremely difficult, Link can get to Spectacle Rock before getting the sword. 2. Levels 1, 2, 3, and 8 can be found, entered, and completed in any order. The only locks for half of the levels are items found in the overworld and the difficulty curve.

Turtle Rock always felt like a fan-made dungeon to me. In addition to the bizarre difficulty spike, the dungeon requires you to use spin attacks in a strange way that isn't very intuitive. Obviously, Link in-universe wouldn't have to charge a spin attack just to walk backwards or hold his shield to his side. Not to say that this is hard to figure out, but it genuinely doesn't seem like something that would only be utilized in a rom hack, right?
