Throwing Knife Awesome Restoration
#restoration
Welcome to IRON GRIP!
The next object for restoration was a throwing knife.
The restoration process is tedious, I mean the monotonous sanding with sandpaper. The grinding took approximately 18 hours of working time. The construction of scrap materials for fixing the knife greatly simplified the restoration.
For an even matte shine, I used a polish for car rims.
The weave of the knife handle was made from the lace of my shoe. The lace was not new, its advantage is the absence of further stretching of the fibers.
But the most interesting was the moment of learning the knife throwing technique. Before starting training, I watched a couple of training videos. After two hours of traini...

#restoration Welcome to Iron Grip. Another object of my restoration was a military signal lamp, which was presented to me by my very good friend. During the restoration, I tried not to use a power tool, with the exception of polishing the plexiglass. In the process, I used a rust converter, paint remover, solvent, primer, paint, headlight polish, disc polish ... I look forward to your comments ...

#restoration A blow lamp (firs invention in Sweden, Carl Ricard Nyberg, 1881 year) is a device , which is heating the initial substance (alcohol, kerosene, gasoline) and converting it from the evaporator into a gaseous condition. The injector jet pulling the air oxygen like spray bottle. I've been fortunate to find the lamp made in the USSR in 1950s-1960s. It looks like hasn't been used for sev...

#restoration Welcome to IRON GRIP Restoration! Oil lamp of 1940s was my second discovery, which I found in my grandfather's attic. I don’t exactly know, who is the real manufacturer of this lamp, the only thing I found about lamp was it Lamp Factory (the exact name is unknown) production of 1940s. The lamp had a lot of visual disadvantages: paint was peeled, a fair amount of rust, dirt, soot, a...

#restoration Welcome to Iron Grip. Once, cleaning up grandfather's attic in the village, I stumbled on an old cast-iron iron of the 1930s. The iron acquired not the best look, after have being located there for about 50 years. That it what that inspired me to create a RUclips channel for the restoration of an old and rare objects. Unfortunately, living in the city in apartment not to provide an...
Even the sandpaper is made in Poland!
I think it looks beautiful! Great work.
👍
Love it the grand finale was why didn’t you light it? That was stupid. Everybody was waiting for that. 😢
lindissimo
👌👍👏👏👏
Black paint for a lamp isn't logical...
Thanks for a BEAUTIFUL REGISTRATION. A revival of a light 💡 history. I just came across your RUclips channel, and I have subscribed. Merci.
especially at 7:55, it is obvious that he is giving this piece the love and protection it deserves after all these years. also, when your power goes out for several days, you would be blessed to have a kerosene lamp like this in the evenings. thank you for this wonderful video!
👏👏👏
What is rust converter?
You got to test it at the end man
Clever painting technique....looks lovely.
Did you make the clamp for your side grinder??? Super cool
Is it citric acid you use ?
Oh wow that doily trick was epic !
Very nice , 👌
Is rust converter white vinegar?
What did you use to soak the rusty parts in?
You’re using your pipe wrench backwards ?
Felicitaciones por el buen trabajo 🇵🇪
I have a passion for restoring antique things that I find in places where people set up tables and sell things. I also like to watch people on RUclips restore things. I can always learn something. My real name is Michael McCluskey. I also like the outcome of what you did with the antique blow torch.
Nice video. I wish to see it work
Meh.... an obvious rattle can paint job. No primer and only one coat of paint?!?! Walk up to it and scratch it with your fingernail..... BTW, I work for a paint company.
This is a refractory paint, the instructions for use say - "do not prime"!
The end is my favorite part, nice job!
awesome restoration dear...
Enjoy to see this video , really nice work !
Greetings buddy, cool job. I like it 👍
Its great!
Very nice, good work
Where can I get a mount for the angle grinder. That one looks like rubber, maybe low vibration?
Probably nowhere. This is a plastic clip for the high voltage cable, but I use it to hold my electric tool in place.
@@irongriprestoration7344 Thank you for the answer.
Nice torch, nice job, i would like to have seen it in operation.
nice job
If you fire it up stand by for some paint charring ..it is probably going to be " now a shelf queen " for the rest of its existence .. nice aesthetic job
Nice pick on Gold on Black.Suprise that the Wick holder and Burner is not brass
beautiful. Well done....i restored one too.......subscribed
Beautiful lamp great job
Nice work.
Disappointing that you 1) didn't restore bumps and defects 2) didn't sand the body 3) didn't sand and polish the mirror part and 4) didn't use base coat before painting 🙁
Now that's cool! 💯💯
Sweet 👍🏻 👍🏻
Thanks for your comment.
Unfortunately, the color scheme is bad. Ignition test should be done.
Thanks for your comment. Your opinion is important to me.
