Well composed, thank you for this fugue! Inspired by BWV 1061, III. Fuga, I think.
honestly a superb _and_ fun fugue!! its so good😁😁
It’s clear that you are intimately familiar with the German organ school. Several years ago I tried to make variations on a passacaglia theme, and you were a lot more successful than me!
Fun little piece.
baroque music enthusiasts trying not to be condescending assholes challenge (impossible)
This is very beautiful. I'm a fan of the Baroque passacaglia myself, and I love your variety of coloration from the registration, as well as your light, but accurate touch on the keys. Amazing work.
Fantastic work!
I really like this. I note that a few people did not, though the vast majority did. It's a beautiful use of registration, and organ colors. There are a few dissonances here and there that are perhaps beyond what a Baroque composer would have used but on the whole very much in keeping with late 17th/early 18 baroque organ style. For me that's a very good thing. Nothing wrong with paying homage to past styles and doing it well IMO. Bravo, from a fellow organist/composer.
Can i have the sheet music? I really need to play this!
Phenomenal work! I disagree with the criticisms of your use of ‘false relations’, I personally think they are brilliant and are used well to give a dramatic piece like this a bit of oomph! My favourite part of this work was the build up of energy from around 4:00 all the way to the end along with great registration choices. In my opinion, I think slightly grander and more drawn out adagio ending wouldve worked perfectly here. Also, im sure I’ll see you around London one day Callum, the baroque music scene isn’t too big that it won’t happen haha
Bravo
Beautiful!!!
I'd recommend changing time signature to 3/8
you've got the style down to a T, but the form is still lackluster at best. You'd do well at studying composing shorter pieces. specifically those with simple, clear forms such as song forms like 32 bar AABA

I m sorry, but this is no art! For what purpose? All the variations are inspired to Buxtheude/Bach … without their geniality…. The meaning?? This is a game, no music. I hope this is scolar study …. Because it is a nonsense
This whole comment is nonsense! Learn english.

@@kubrikke I certainly know both better than you.
@@Lord-Of-theDarkness 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣 alas! poor Yorick!
only a fool can consider this Passacaglia a work of art! A bad copy of a masterpiece. this is the arrogance of mediocre musicians who believe they are making art because they know two rules of harmony.
I’m surprised everyone suggests Bach-like; to me the influence is clearly Buxtehudian. There’s a bit more openness to the texture here than you find in Bach, the motivic ideas more concise and sectional than in the Bach Passacaglia and more reminiscent of the Buxtehude in D minor. The figuration is more Buxtehudian - Bach was overall more melodic in his handling of contrapuntal textures, even when it’s very motivic. I thought it was remarkable regardless of the inspiration, though. Very clearly structured and the parts felt very natural, although I do agree about the use of false relations between the sharp sixth and seventh degrees against the natural sixth and seventh, this felt a bit jarring with the general style. Keep it up!
Beautiful work!
this is so bach-ian, even the handwriting!!
Is this in print anywhere?
Reincarnation of Bach? Beautiful! Can we expect a fugue?
wunderschön!! Bravo!!
wow!
Brilliant
Thank you for sharing your excellent music.

Mozart!!!!
@@alpinoalpini3849 i know. I was just screaming MOZART cause it sounds like mozart not beethoven for me, but thats just an opinion
This is incredible!!!
A fuge composer must habe the ability to find The right subject if the Subject Is bad the entire work Is not worth A try your Is subject Is of the type of very short fuge sibjects And It Is a right subject
The initial section is a typical French overture-like but the second section is a Bach fugue-like one. I just imagine it putted into French baroque orchestra with two oboes in C, two traverso flutes in D, two bassoons in C, and 5-part string sections.
lovely harpsichord playing and a deft imitative composition!
Thank Goodness for more that want real music..
You have talent the only thing i suggest is to make original compositions even if it's harder something that will only represent you
Define ‘original composition’
This is no less original than any music!
The WHO is planning the Goldberg-Virus to come next.
Wow! How much time do they give you to make such an awesome piece?
Insane! 😁 no, just Great!!

Really excellent piece of music!
Splendido
Lovely fugue!
i feel like i lost my drive to overcome a playing injury and get back to music... but your compositions are inspiring me to get back to it! (Are any of your pieces on musescore)?
Excellent pastiche work, and equally excellent performance! Also, of all the many pastiche channels I watch on RUclips, you are the first I have ever seen that composes with pen and paper, and thats so unique and cool :) You absolutely captured the lyricism and drama of Bach's solo keyboard works in this. So impressive. I see that you're a professional musician too which makes sense.
I see those British plugs ;) Always lovely to find another fellow British lover of French Baroque music, we are not that many in number it seems! Great work Callum!
Marvelous!
Very nice! I seldom enjoy fugues in major, but this one is an exception. ^^
oh hey, it's the person that makes cool fugues!
What a cool mix of Scarlatti, Haydn, Martinů and your own flair :D lovely piece
Amazing
SCARLATTI !
Any chance of the sheet music? This is brilliant
definitely appreciate the Rameau references in variations 6 and 7
