I know i am a late but i love the doctors dillema in this event. choosing between what you (and the old civilization) consider a hope from the past about a future that will end in paradise or face the present reality that your aspirations have gone astray. It gave me angst just thinking about it but in the end the choise rest in your values, my personal opinion i would let go of the originium project and focus on helping Theresa and the current civilization i can't sacrifise the current civilization for the hope of previous one it would be like sacrifising living people to honour the dead it doesnt sit well with me. And i know that the originium project is one of the only way to stand up to the "observers" but i would not make the same choise as pre amnesia doc.

I feel like you do a poor job explaining why you like Come Catastrophes or Wakes of Vultures more than the other events on this year. Personally i think its a mid event with not much going around, and despite almost everyone claiming Jessica had some character development we don’t see much of it. I would say the most interesting part of that event were Woodrow and ‘Clip’ Cliff’s drama and showdown. And not by a huge margin. And the way the bank is so predatory and evil is so cartoonish. it’s too unrealistic. how people would still use their services from such an abusive institution. They portrayed these Davidtown people as not knowing better or being poor decision makers.

I plan on doing a full fledged critique of the Londinium Arc, and how much it doesnt live up to the legacy of the Reunion Arc just as you said, and the biggest problem regarding the characters and villains is how *inefficiently* they are utilized. -Horn is shelved starting from Shatterpoint and doesn't have anything meaningful for her up until Absolved. Which is a shame because she's the only character I was invested in *the most* -Dublinn is done extremely dirty, not just because they hardly appear post Shatterpoint, but also because the story doesnt take the time to adress the greater nuances of them, nor have the other characters offer their commentary on the plight of the Tarans unlike the nuances surrounding Reunion -Neo Reunion's subplot barely gets any breathing room to have any potential development, and its unnecessary to include because they have no real bearing on the plot. Their arc shouldve been a side story like Firelight. -Most of the time, characters come and go without ever leaving a lasting impact on the characters or the story. This is why Frostnova and Patriot are so beloved yet Mandragora or Manfred are met with utter indifference. These are just a *few* examples of this problem of course. And again, I will adress these more in depth at some point

ngl Ideal City was kinda ass, not very interesting for the most part and probably actively being a hole in a world building. Almost every time Sargon is mentioned be it event or something from operator's profile, it is always pictured as a heavily feudal state with local royalty oppressing common folk in every possible way. And then somehow they drop on us some high-tech utopic city of durins where dudes just get drunk all the time and engage in meaningless competitions. At least now their technology can be explained as being similar case to Aegir excavating tech of Precursors but the whole thing of that city not being raided by some lord ameer is not very believable.

I would be grading them on gameplay, myself. Tales within the sand is the most offensively bad game mode that I've ever played in mobile gaming. It goes from being stupidly difficult, because they withhold vital information to play, to stupidly boring once you get all set up and know the secret rules.

Path of Life is an S because finally papa Ulpi is playable in it. Everything else is F tier /j On serious note, I love Executor alter's story and new characters they introduce, not to mention the 'tism boy's alter form is super cool. I was really excited for him when he came last year but the event's mechanic......fuck that, I hated it last year, I hate it now. Grinning Valley is my least fav new event last year because to me, Warmy and Ray were just... okayyyy ish character. Maybe their designs which aren't my cuppa is part of why I don't like them as much. Unpopular opinion maybe... but imo Lone Trail is better than Babel story wise. The music, the 60s aesthetic, the story mainly revolving around loneliness, and Kristen finally achieving her dream, I'd arguw most importantly she achieved what we as humans wished we could: using resources meant to destroy many lives to pursue knowledge and sate our curiosity instead. Imo it's also more tragic than Babel, witnessing what Kristen gave up to achieve her dreams imo feels more real than what happened to Theresa. I understand why people love Babel more tho. 9:37 hahaha caption

For me, personally, Lone trail is still the best event in the game, keeping Babel at second. Yeah, plot in Babel is insanely good, and information given here is priceless. But it's mainly focused on Doctor/Theresa story, and while this part is great, other characters feel much less significant to it. On the other hand, in Lone trail there are at least 3 main characters, and each one has it's own plot and development. Even some NPC have they time to shine. And that's aside of some lore drops about Doctor, elves, Columbia's government and Terra itself. But maybe I'm just too biased

I might not agree with some of the positions in this tier list, some events I would raise higher, some lower...but I completely agree with one thing: "Babel" deserves its own personal tier and should stand above everything that happened last year.

Hmmm, regarding Il Siracusano, I understand your thought about Zaaro but it also feels... Misplaced for me? He never quite appeared to me as anything other than a last minute obstacle, he's barely there throughout the whole event (Appears once at the start, once for Vigil at the mid of the story and then only at the final leg for Bernardo's suicidal gambit + fighting everyone at the end) It is very much a story about Texas' return to Siracusa but it's also about the politics and traditions that have taken root in it and how Siracusa won't ever break free from its cycle/system of returning to the famiglia or a similar state to it without major change, hell, Penance's whole participation in the story can be boiled down to tried making a difference by playing into the system, had to face the reality of that decision when her vision seemingly didnt align anymore with Bernardo's and she only managed to take a meaningful step forward when she was no longer constrained by the same thing which benefited and let her make those fake steps towards justice. Anyways im rambling here the point of the comment actually was to say that I think it deserves a B because Zaaro is just there to be a punching bag and there's no main antagonist but rather various different factions and individuals with different intentions affecting one another while none the wiser to Bernardo's machinations, Signore dei Lupi and all really is a side irrelevant plot in the scheme of Il Siracusano when compared to how all characters are affected by the famiglia system and reach their own conclusions of destroying it for a chance of a better Siracusa in their eyes. I could ramble more but im afraid im spewing bullshit at this point but honestly would love to discuss with others about this event, maybe except Lappland and Texas bits in depth because I still need to grasp those better. P.S. Emperor's line about making a broom with Zaaro's fur is iconic

The only event in this list that i actually read it and understand and quite like it is only gavial event which is the only D tier event in this list lol, maybe it's because i think ak event and main story is too long and too hard to understand for me because english is not my first language, there some event i tried to get in to like ling event but give up like 3-4 chapter and just play the event,I wish this game has more silly event that kinda easy to understand and not too long to read to the end.

Love the Come Catastrophes recognition. The Babel + Ch.14 wombo combo eclipsed it a bit, but it is truly a fantastic story. Out of the "self contained, low scale" AK stories, it's probably my favourite. It made me pull for Jessica alter when I had no plans to.

Lake Silbenherze just showed how war can quickly shatter the peace,thats why it was so great and Harold was such an underrated antagonist.He tried to avoid confrontation at all cost,but once intel came and he had his orders,only thing mattered was fullfilling those orders and protecting his men. They were prepared to kill everyone.Every last soul in a place where everyone was nice to them.Because they were not there to play nice. Victorians had a strong.loyal and expereinced warleader in the event.But wars are not nice.

Finally got to play this event and what I really like about the writing really is how the whole thing is captivating from start to finish. It barely waste a story section to do exposition lore dump so you understand more of the setting, instead it let the character interaction and their disagreement do all the work and our man Federico right here is just here to go "Stop lolly gagging and wasting word counts". The chapter never stop setting up new "Oh shit" moments and resolve them before it escalates too much so the one who never really got involved personally and has to be spectator watching everything "fall to ruin" being the final big bad is very fitting. Delfina getting shot was probably the weakest moment in the story for me. She was written to be overly emotional and annoying from start to finish and was doing the good ol "You're my friend Tuna, can't you suffer like the rest of us?" so it's kinda expected something gonna happen right after the gun being fixed scene. While that scene is there to show how strict the commandments are, I would have given Fortuna the title of a saint for getting rid of her.

One thing I am most surprised is how direct the Aegir people are and well, how they go straight to the point in communication. I was bracing for the usual political squawking ritual like one sees in say Victoria and leithanien during Gladiia's tribunal but no , just all parties doing Q&A on their specific concerns and all the experts actually askinh their queries. through the lens of their profession. Which props to them thats one of the many chips that backs up their arrogance. Still it is arrogance that will blow up in their face lol.

honestly, i feel like this event is a setup for future events. while in this event we barely had any issues(pretty much easiest event if you have at least some built units), the next event will be built on top of this one(also remember the "building" mechanic of this event, kekw) which will result in truly butt clenching experience(kinda like stultifera navis was back when it originally ran) maybe we'll even get someone from church of the deep to join rhodes island(Aulus? probably. maybe someone else) just for some more understanding of their perspective

So, and this might be a bit reductive, but the Aegir are this setting's version of Elves? The comparison is not 1:1 but I feel like them being more advanced than and isolated from the rest of Terra, combined with the arrogance and idea of them being the true successors of the precursers lines up with that. The other comparison I'd come up with are vulcans, as they also seem to value reason and logic in their sociatal discourse.

I loved this event. It was the first time I got all the medals and actually cleared out the whole shop. For that AH appreciation. I then read it fully afterwards. I agree that the CotD cult has got to go already. I thought Ulpianus was decent, I'm rly curious what's going to happen with him from now on after that ending. Irene was great as usual, I also liked Underflow quite a bit and their new friendship, I need to E2 her. I rly liked Horatia's announcement to the world. Those moments make the world feel much more alive it's like when sth big happens like in One Piece and the world reacts to it. Nice to see Mumu. Too real about the nice NPC designs like Tullia only to kill them off lol. Also, the Seaborn definitely makes for a good antag. You know when he recognises Kal as AMA-10 and Doctor for who they are you gotta be locked in. Hopefully they add it to Intermezzi for those who miss it. Very nice review as always and keep up the great AK content.
