This one is for all of the Justins out there. You know who you are. In the order of when they appear, here are links to the videos from which I stole all of these clips: Song: Opiate2 ruclips.net/video/rD-f3uBKreE/видео.html Song: 46 & 2 from Ernie Ball's String Theory series ruclips.net/video/yj_xjzyAarA/видео.html Song: 10,000 Days (audio is from studio recording) ruclips.net/video/I2604NPR6F...
Yeti V9 sans flake V10 FA
Просмотров 3312 года назад
We went back to Yeti V9 after the fires but the glue behind the left hand flake had melted away. That thing was FLEXing. Even at 130lbs I was bending that bad boy back quite a bit. I wanted to get ahead of any breakage so I got the coveted FA pre-break. That is if the thousands of people who have come to thins climb haven't done this already... Please ignore me calling it V11 at the end. I was ...
Prying Open My Third Eye

This is an excerpt of a longer video I am making about the development of the Machado Boulders in Kirkwood. This is an FA Jimmy did that is around 8A. It was apparently not good enough to be named, so don't expect a long line at the base.
Seizure Warning Pt. 2: Swanky Sit V9
Просмотров 1012 года назад
My ascent of Swanky Sit V9, with audio from the gentleman Nicklaus Wilcots. This is my "look Mom I found the effects button" film. Drone footage was done by Jonathan Hsu. The other two people were just holding phones up. Trivia: I feel like I met someone there that day that I still talk to but I don't remember who.
Broke Ass Mofo V10

My process on Broke Ass Mofo V10 at Erratica in Kirkwood, CA. Trivia: The kneepad featured in this video belongs to Carlos Tkacz. His last name makes me shudder.
Beyond Life V10

My ascent of Beyond Life V10. This is the second, cleaner version of the film. Trivia: The Seizure Warning idea came during the 10hr drive back to Lake Tahoe from Joe's.
Academia V12/13 Flash Go

Here is my flash go of Academia V12/13 at Donner. I also filmed some of my thoughts on warming up, especially before a flash go. Trivia: From this video came the Push Me Through name and brand.
what in the world is he playing in the beggining
That's the intro of their new version of opiate
To me. The bass has always been there in music. But kind of in some aspects as buried. He is very unique with the affects. And his style. You gravitate to him. Take notice of the bass. It doesn’t hurt that he has a really killer tone too.
It looks so cool at 1:35 when that fog comes in right above his headstock. Looks like his bass is smoking lol
On the edge of my seat. Thought you had it.
Damn next flash go for sure
song name at 0:47 ? please
10,000 Days by Tool, enjoy!
that down scale riff fading out at the end, might be the best part....
I also like when Flea of RHCP plays music for the RHCP
Legend
Orgasmic happy birthday Justin!
I didn't understand what was meant by "Seizure Warning" until I actually got slightly motion sick watching this :p
Nice! I'm so proud of you for pushing through
... and Justin for all.
sT00L 0:46
I always adore the pretentious sanctimonious dicks that say Just sucks or "isnt a real bass player" because he uses a pick, meanwhile its clearly shown here he does both and using a pick certain times on bass gives it that crisp tone he gets, and i personally think its perfect.
Tool albums feel like fever dreams to me. That’s the beauty of it.
Absolutely beautiful.
Does anybody have the tabs for that first little tid bit at the beginning? I'm sitting here trying to transcribe it. I will try harder
Hey! Sorry it took a while to answer, but here is the link: ruclips.net/video/nbAzcRz404E/видео.html
Rad bro. Spiral out ☯️🕉✡️☸️⚛️
Just can tool bass of play
Justin went to my University
Justin on a stool by the pool looks pretty cool fool..... "][" ([]) ([]) ][_
1:27 you missed one of the best bass solos
haha I know, I'll save it for the next video
pass the goddamn butta
What is the name of the very first song? Like the intro playing? 💯
It is their new version of Opiate, just called Opiate2
I DIDN'T KNOW HE PLAYED WITH HIS FINGERS
For wings he does, I don’t think he uses fingers for much else
Never realised the intro to Lost Keys required Justin to move closer and further from the amp to get tonal variation in the feedback....I now love this song even more
I think he is using an EBow Sustainer and when he leans in he's using a pedal to change the pitch. Lost keys is a beautiful song to say the least. one of my go to favorites. Especially if you play it really loud before bedtime. It's a mood thing...
@@rayneysdad4069 and then "well, alrighty then"
@rayneysdad4069 some online forums claim he had an additional smaller pedalboard next to the amp during those tours, if i recall, an additional guyatone tube tremolo, sansamp gt2, and boss geb-7. i think he tweaked the settings to get that insane feedback, no e-bow to my knowledge.
Justin is so essential.
Justin - DUDE! You got the best gig in the universe. Both for you and for TOOL. Thanks for your artistry.
For me, the bass is an incredible instrument to listen to on a good sound system and is translatable to just about every major genre of music. Popular modern guitarists are more associated with rock and metal bands but bass players seem to straddle more genres.
Mr. Justin Chancellor...if you had to describe the bass sound in one word or two what would it be?
He's worthy to play with Danny. The shift from guitar driven to bass driven after undertow was phenomenal.
this vid needs a part 2, its unhealthy how much ive watched this...
Yes! I've always been a bad influence on the health of those around me, so I'm glad it's continuing. This video is a result of 15 years of watching Tool videos. It may take another 15 until I see enough quality videos of Justin ripping...
"Its time now.. my time now.. give me my.. give me my wings!"....
There are few bassists that can transcend how the bass is traditionally played. Justin is one of them.
what song was the last one?
The last one is Wings for Marie (Pt 1)
This is the least bass playing I've ever seen in a bass playing video.
Don't act like you don't love it
@@pushmethrough never was a major tool guy. Metallica, Zeppelin, Rush. I suppose Rush is a pretty close relative.
Justin Chancelor, bass player for the band Tool, playing bass in the band Tool in which he is the bass player who plays the bass for the band Tool, playing the bass (bass solo)
We all need to start a prayer chain that TOOL puts out another album. Or sacrifice something. Yeah …. uh, baby Jebus and all the saints plus abracadabra …. either way Justin needs to jam on. Some of the extended jams on Fear put me in a trance. Just raucous harmony man, like full on banging my ear holes dude. But while kissing my neck. Yup. Thanks Justin!
I know! I really hope we get another one.
@@pushmethrough we’ll get 2 more
0:10 Totally sounded like the intro to Pink Floyd's "Run Like Hell"
Tasty licks and harmonies. I can see why much of the footage he's sitting down. He's bent over like a old man while playing because having the bass so low while standing makes it so much harder to play.
I think he only sits when he plays 10,000 days. The other clips where he is sitting are part of the "String Theory" video of him in studio.
This guy did to many younger bass players what Steve Harris did for us older folks.
So glad I bought a Wal bass years ago because of Justin. Those things cost more than most used cars now.
Weird style
Justin Chancellor using his fingers instead of a pick?? 😳😳 that's the first time I've seen that, I always thought he used a pick exclusively
I think he only throws out the pick for 10,000 days.
My favourite bassist... in second position John Taylor and in third Flea/Tim commerford
Rick Grimes is killin it on bass
exactly what i thought 😂
I wonder what his practice regiment is like
Justin doesn’t practice bass, bass practices him
Sick videos dude! I feel like RUclips feels like we should be friends so keep killing it 👌
Justins a tool that plays in tool
to play bass you need to have the skill to go into the hypnosis state of mind. Justin has it all
