I currently have 5 pens inked, which is pretty normal for me. I never ink up more than 6 pens. I think the maximum I’ve ever had inked at one time was maybe 8? I just can’t imagine ever having a reason to have more pens than that inked at one time, even if I designate each pen for a specific purpose (notebook/journal, work, purse, etc.). But everyone does things differently. There are people who think the number I have inked are too many. To each his own.

I thought you said less pens!!!But I love the rainbow of color and can't wait to see how you use them. I tried your floral border on two of my pages and it came out pretty good.

I bought the Hot Toddy in Oct/Nov and still haven't opened it. I cant decide on an ink for it so it takes the pressure off cause it's still im the box 😮

🌹Thanks for the shoutout love! 😍 Your palette, altho too many for me I lvoe cause it's filled with rainbow colours. Unless I have a specific thing I'm doing (like my Currently Inked Blues Edition last year) I like to have a multitude of colours to choose from and write for the month. Do you recommend a really crazy shimmer purple that I could put in a medium nib Kaweco sport? Or a medium nib Kakuno? That’s all I got so far lol hopefully sometime soon I can procure a Lamy Safari with left handed medium nib. Thanks for sharing!!

Great video many thanks for sharing your top 5.. I have 5 Twsbi Ecos and love how easy they are to maintain. I recently got a pilot kakuno in a fine nib just to experience a Japanese fine vs a non japanese fine. What a difference and I like both types of nib. Have you tried the Kaco Master? It's one of my favourites😊😊.😊😊😊😊

I am grateful to have discovered you! I love your wonky brain because you have given me more peace about my wonky brain. I love that you are not a planner perfectionist in that you DO use it and it inevitably gets messed up! I have come to actually like it when my planner is less than perfect. There is probably a clinical tag for that. HA! I couldn't do your tracking system. I don't keep up w my simpler, shorter trackers but I love your idea of tracking which pens you use most regularly. I, too, struggle w inking up too many but then I just keep refilling a bunch of them because I end up loving having them handy. Some weeks are more successful with "wins" than others. OH well. Which TWSBI nib are you referring to as a Size 5? The nib for the Eco/Mini or the Diamond 580? How do you transfer that nib?

Are you a member of the Reddit PenSwap community? I traded someone for a different Pilot Vanishing Point nib unit because they wanted an EF and I HATED the EF. That way all we had to pay for was shipping, instead of the full $90+ for a new nib unit!

I love Archer and Olive, and bullet journaling 🥰🥰🥰🥰 yeah i noticed i had 19 pens inked up so in February I want to challenge myself. I think I might do a theme and ink up like 6 ( this doesn't include two inked pens that stay inked up) I understand the pen thing. I started in October and went ham...i have 23 pens now. I told my hubby, i just want a benu euphoria in a fine and medium nib, and a Twsbi Diamond 580 in a medium nib, then ill be good. 😅😊 Happy Writing!!! ❤❤❤❤

💕 I am relatively new on the fountain pen/ink scene but what I am quickly discovering is that I am obsessing about research before I purchase even one ink bottle or even a sample? I realize they all have different formulas and properties and behavior and this can vary from paper to paper. I also know myself and that I will naturally gravitate towards certain colors. What I am doing my best to avoid is having 5 different inks (insert any color) that basically look the same on the paper I mainly use when I write with them. This excludes the super special inks that you can visibly see the difference on paper due to shading, sheen, etc. But for the colors I tend to use most often for a daily writer….the grays, the browns, the blacks, the purples….I am paying very close attention to all of the different brands and see if I can visually tell a difference on paper between them. Yes, of course I can see the difference in a swatch, but how much of a difference can I see when writing on paper? And if I do see a difference, which one am I most drawn to….once I have established this I check the reviews and what people are saying about the ink and I watch the videos that show the difference or I check one of the blogs that cover them in detail. After all of that I will create a list of the colors and order a sample and if that goes well purchase a bottle of the ones that I absolutely love how it looks when I am writing on paper. I might be the most boring person when it comes to inks and all of the research up front seems like a lot of work but I would rather do that research up front that costs me nothing but my own time rather than purchase inks and do the same research after I have spent the money only to then find out that some do not work for me? If that makes sense? I discovered this the hard way with blush, like for your face. I am drawn to plums, pinky browns, etc. when I look at my collection of blush today I have multiples of one color that basically looks the same on my face. Again, if that makes sense. Sorry for the long rant but due to budget restrictions I really need to make every purchase count in a major way. As for pens, I am still in the TWSBII Eco price range or under on what I can spend. That is just my reality of the moment but not having a super expensive pen right now has to be okay because of budget restrictions. It still doesn’t take away from the happiness I feel when I write with what I have at the moment? Sorry for the long comment, this has just been my approach when I had to put on the brakes wanting all of the inks and all of the beautiful pens. Love your videos! 💕

🩷 I get the overspending on pens and inks. There's so many beautiful pens and inks out there and I want them all.... 😍 I try to remind myself "self control" but it's definitely a struggle. 🩷

I have Wearingeul Pride and Prejudice and haven't found it to get crusty on the nibs. But I have experienced this with other inks. It has never posed a problem. I just wipe it off and continue to use the pen.

Have you tried a nib swap, I think there are several groups on FB or Reddit that do that sort of thing, postage is cheaper than a new nib.

I'm having the same struggle with my vanishing point. Turns out that I prefer fine nibs but I got a medium to try it out and it is just not impressing me. And it is hard just to buy the nib unit where I'm at so I would have to buy a whole pen just to get a different nib size 😬

💖Such a cute notebook! I especially loved the painting of your pups. You're so talented. I don't know how you had so many pens inked at one time. I get overwhelmed when I have 5 pens inked at one time.😅 But I do like your system. It's the one I've liked the best so far and trust me. I have watched a lot of currently inked videos. I enjoyed hearing your thought process about what's working and what isn't. I really appreciate you being so candid. Something to think about? Don't feel bad about cleaning out a pen when you don't like the ink or the ink-and-pen pairing. Unless you've eyedroppered a pen or you've inked up a pen (like a TWSBI Eco) with a large ink capacity, you're not going to be "wasting" much ink. Most converters do not hold much ink relative to the amount you may have in a bottle, especially if you have as much ink as you say you do. Pens with large ink capacities don’t need to be filled to capacity every time you ink them up unless you plan to use them for an extended period of time or you plan to use them for long writing sessions. Additionally, depending on the pen, over time, pens may dry out and are more difficult to clean when they've sat unused for too long. Thanks so much for sharing!💖

Pretty pen! I have a couple of the nautilus models and sadly I will no longer be buying anymore, even though they are super pretty to look at. I’ve had issues with the pistons so just be careful to not twist the piston filler too hard or too much because it will pop out completely. I had to send mine back to the company to fix because neither I nor my husband could fix it ourselves.

Before you explained your process I felt that I could never do this! But after watching it, I feel empowered to try this out in my journal. thank you for sharing! Side note, I have the same Jurassic Estie. I recently dropped it and the cap split at the gold o-ring😢 I replaced the cap but UGH!

I'm such a sucker for a rose gold trim on pens. I have the TWSBI smoke with RG and I just love it. I want to get the 580 also in the same trim. I just love the combination. I just got my first Narwahl it's a clear demonstrator with a bronze clip and nib. It was a coffee themed pen and I've been enjoying using it. I would love to try a nautilus. Enjoy your new pen and congrats on finishing up some pens. Out of the 6 that I had inked I one more to go before we ink up for February..all pinks and purples inks and pens.

+1 to having issues with Nahvalur pens. I am still relatively new to the fountain pen world, but my Nahvalur pens are the only ones I am consistently battling with. I own 2. I've replaced the nib in my Nahvalur Voyage Spring and I love it (when the ink is flowing nicely). I am still struggling to find a replacement nib for my Nahvalur Original Plus (with a vendor-exclusive resin). I would tell my past self to think twice about buying a Nahvalur pen, and to only buy versions that have a long enough lid to accept a full-sized Jowo #6 nib. Nahvalur makes some of the shiniest, prettiest pens. But sadly, it feels like they've prioritized form over function.

I get what you’re saying about the document ink. I only put my document inks in my Kakunos, if the ink dries on any part of the pen body, nib/feed, or in the converter it is REALLY hard to get off. I don’t want it to mark up or stain my more expensive pens. Plus my Kakunos get lots of love with journaling and sketching, they are easy to replace if there is too much wear and tear or if they break.

My Natutilis burps out ink like crazy.

Vacuum filters absolutely rock. Love them!

Have you tried Pilot Iroshizuku Tsutsuji? It’s such a vibrant and juicy pink. I’m usually not a pink person but I’ve been using this ink almost non-stop since I discovered it.

I agree with you fellow lefty. I have trouble with Twsbi medium nibs and shimmer inks. Also agree that the smoke and rose gold diamond 580 has the smoothest nib, much better than some $300 pens I have

🌛Nice selection. I’m more of a pilot fanboy. The Kakuno and Explorer are my to gift pens. My CH92 and C74 are my home pens. But my most used are my TWSBI Vac 700Rs. I’m new < a year to this rabbit hole and still have a lot to learn. Thank you for your videos.
