Excellent outcome! Great job!
Good job, but two observations. First, I would suggest not rimming the carpet until after it's glued down. Second, I wouldn't be working with lacquer thinner over your newly carpeted piece.
Well done.
Very,Very nice work! How many Compound pads and Polishing Pads did you go through?
Thanks for the note. Great point about pad consumption. I have to keep telling myself that these things are consumable and it’s ok to eventually throw away.
Beautiful. I wish i have the knowledge , skill and time to restore my son's (12Y) 1946 CJ2A same as yours. Congratulations!!
Well.....a year later your video obviously had a lasting effect. I finished my full restoration on a 1995 RRC and could not be happier.
That’s great! Congratulations!
Congratulations on the purchase this is my dream plane I’m looking to get my ppl and hopefully my cirrus g3 soon I’m looking for a mentor I noticed you live in the Richmond VA area also if you ever need a inexperienced co pilot im your guy lol that would be a dream
Hello. Thanks for watching my aviation videos. I’d be happy to chat with you sometime on the phone and hear your story and goals. It’s possible I could provide lessons learned or some ‘pro-tips’ even though I’m not a pro. If you would like to chat, let me know the best way to get in touch.
Hi I live in Richmond VA my dream is to get my private pilots license and own a cirrus sr22 if you ever need company on a flight that would be awesome
Brilliant result. You're lucky the owner collected parts too. I am the second owner of a Wimbledon White Fastback myself, and I have been using the same approach to preserving it. I've enjoyed driving it for 27 years now. I put over 200K miles on it and it's nearing 400K total. Next, it will get a new engine and a 5-speed manual so it can drive some more! Drive them to the ground, I say!
Great to hear about your Wimbledon White fastback. Love your approach to restoration, keeping it in service and using it a lot. My last three things on my list include addressing a PS leak, getting the AC working again and dealing with a carb issue. Once those are resolved, my whole list will be complete and it will be a lot easier to drive often without hesitation. Have a great summer.
@@Paul355c I got very tired of maintaining the steering, so I installed a rack and pinion system 15 years ago, along with a beefy sway bar and stiff springs. Keep up the good work and make nice videos. Next, I will work on paint chips. It was repainted once, in 1986, after a minor fender bender. It had chips I have been tending to all along the door spear, but it's time to do a better job, as you did. Thanks for the inspiration!
Hey great project , was this gloss black or metallic black ?
Hey, thanks for the comment. I went back with the factory color of Beluga Black. I had the paint shop look up the formula. It doesn’t really have any metallic so it’s more a version of gloss black with a hint of pearl. Safe travels.
The jack in the spare wheel tool holder needs to be upright otherwise it will leak oil. The holder has an arrow on it indicating "this way up". A rubber ring secures the holder in the wheel well, wrapped around the screw handle and a brace across the holder - if you get my drift.
Thanks for the helpful info
Even with the old paint, it's a beautiful car, nice work with the paint. Love the timeless styling of the '67 fastbacks.
Operation save the paint, wow genius how long did it take you to come up with that
Thanks for choosing Houlton for the Eclipse Experience! It was very nice to meet you and your brother. Thanks for sharing your experience! (We met while you were parking, I was driving the white van around)
Matt! It’s fun that you found this video. It was great meeting you as well. You and the Houlton Airport team were great and hospitable. I hope you’re happy with how things went. It sure seemed like a success to me. Have a great weekend.
@@Paul355c Thanks. Yes, it was a great day. Exceeded all expectations for sure. Totality was amazing! I’ve seen partial before, but totality is exponentially another level!
Nice Video!
Totality cleared out Waco to see all of it which was nice
Awesome that you can travel like that. Here in Cleveland, we got lucky with clouds. It was incredible. In 2017, we traveled to Nashville and saw that eclipse.
Thanks for the comment. I’m glad you had success for the event!
How's Operation save the paint coming along Paul?
Ha! I didn’t think anyone was paying attention. I completed that task months ago and I just need to cobble together the video and get it published. The finish turned out pretty good as a 10-foot car, if you know what I mean. Thanks for poke. I’ll try to work on the vid soon.
Much appreciated. I love watching your videos and you have inspired me to restore my 1993 Range Rover Classic. All the best - Mason @@Paul355c
Did you have to deal with the sun visors? Mine are puffy and terrible
Hello. I wish I could provide some advice. I also had some puffiness but since I had two vehicles to make one, I just picked the best two from the four. They were probably a 7.5/10 in terms of condition. Good luck with your project.
Did you prep like the floor pans job? What paint did you use? Looks like a satin finish? Turned out great. Bought a 22 gallon tank. Will install when weather warms up.
Hi. Yes I prepped like the floors. I think I used a satin rustoleum enamel rattle can. I need to rewatch the vid as there a quick clip of me spraying. Maybe we can see the car label. :)
The aftermarket deluxe instrument bezel is $150 now. You saved money and it’s probably better quality. I rebuilt my instrument cluster last winter. Put a mini tach in the blank/clock spot.
Excellent work. Really like you showing the physical work. Before the inside frame spray paint, did you clean that out? Flush with water or blow out with air?
Thanks for the comment. Yes I ‘shot’ compressed air in multiple holes until it all came out dust-free. I’m not sure but some of those parts might be galvanized so not likely to rust. However, I need to research that because I’m not sure. Good luck with your coupe!
Congrats on the find of this car in this condition. We have a similar journey. My 67 coupe is mostly original and needs TLC.
สวยงาม ครับ รถยนต์ สวยมาก
This is amazing. I would love to have this talent. @paul355c - can you please share a parts list? Thank you
Hello. Thanks for comment. Unfortunately that was about 20-years ago and I never made a parts list. However, I did all my retail purchases from www.vintagejeepparts.com/ And I found that guy to be nice and helpful. I hope you have a fun project to work on.
Hi Paul! Great build! I was wondering if there’s any way to get ahold of you to ask you some questions?
Hey Paul! Great build! I have so many questions - is there a way to get in touch? Best, Adam Clark
Hi Adam. I’m happy to talk on the phone. Would you be able to share your cell or email and we can exchange phone numbers?
@@Paul355c trying to send my number and email but I’m guessing youtube is restricting it?

beautiful car I like your videos nice calm and informant I find some other channels to loud and hyped up which is not for me I have a 67 fastback s code im restoring right now i could use those door panels if there for sale
Hi Mike. Thanks for the comments. I’m happy to give you the door panels if you could just cover shipping cost. I’ll look for a box that would work for them. Let Me know your zip code sometime so I can find out about shipping. Are there other things you need? I’m happy to sort through my spares.
Looks great! Normally I really don’t like raised white letter tires, but they look okay here. Nice job!
Always enjoy your videos and attention to detail....already looking forward to the next one
I watched your video just to see where you had the advance when you fired it up haha. Great video!
Great video! Do you have a suggestion on how to clean lenses like that without leaving the scratches?
Hi! I don’t know for sure but in general, plastic is soft so your best bet would be a soft cloth like microfiber and a fluid that lubricated and less like a harsh detergent. I’ve had luck with using quick-detailing spray on plastic. That’s the quick detail spray that would normally be used on a paint finish to clean up between washes. Good luck!
Sounds like great advice, thanks!
you can buff them out with small dremel buffer wheel
Cool project! I really like your restoration approach on the GTA. I am doing a similar restoration on a '69 Cougar XR7. Keeping the patina and getting everything working like it came out of the factory with a few subtle mods. Similar to your story my first car was a '68 Cougar so it has been fun working on the '69. BTW if the radiator is the original the top tank will have a FoMoCo stamped on it.
@springman1740 thanks for the note. Your Cougar sounds great and it’s fun that you had one before. I love the XR7! I’ll check my radiator soon. Safe travels.
Nice always good to save the original trim mine was bad im gonna order new
NIce ive been building my 67 fastback for over 5 years im so close to getting it done
Nice work, it looks fantastic!
Thanks a lot!
WOW!!! What a labor of love! I love the how she came out in the end!! 💗
Did you paint the dashboard? If so what color?
Hello. I didn’t paint the dash but I hear of others doing that. As with most paint, prep is key. It will have plenty of texture already so you shouldn’t need to abrade it much if at all but make sure it’s clean if any oils or vinyl treatments by people in the past. Good luck.
Well, I sure wish you would take some pride in your work! Just kidding, of course. You are doing a beautiful job!
Originally subscribed for Land Rover content. I was pleased you snuck a L322 into this video. Nice looking out for the LR fans! I like your approach to things and I’m looking forward to this series even if it’s a Ford!
Paul, as usual, I’m really looking forward to watching this project! Great work!!!
Super excited for the upcoming Land Rover content!
Thx, what about the inside metal and rost protection? If there is only one part of it it grows. What's the technic said a yr experience!
Hello can I get the contact for the original stickers for my build
@Paul355c 1 year ago I said New York in the video but I remember now that it was New Jersey. I found then on eBay. Hopefully this link works: www.ebay.com/itm/184727304490?
Just bought a black 84 (England, very rusty, been standing outside for 22 years ) nice to see how good a black one can look.
9.5 landing 🤩
What a super looking aircraft! Being a PPL (H) I prefer to stop, then land 😊 I hope you enjoy many hours of fun.
What a delightful motor car. For 1923 it looks much older, we have cars from 1922 that look much more modern by comparison. However she does look magnificent, and sounded lovely running. I hope she will be used regularly.
Thanks for the new video, I'm restoring a 93 Range Rover and often revisit sections of your resto series. It's a great reference, Thank you
