Spring Plant Tour pt.1
Просмотров 3,7 тыс.10 месяцев назад
This is part 1 of my Spring Plant Tour. I cover all of my alocasias, anthuriums, begonias, hoyas, philodendrons, and epipremnums plus one scindapsus. In this video I will be showing each plant followed by my spring photos so I can see all the growth that happened when fall comes to an end. I show the good, the bad and the ugly. Some of it is quite laughable so I hope you find the laughing bit a...

Absolutely stunningly gorgeous!! The plants are cool too!
Do you just pop the alocasia corms in the substrate and they sprout? ❤
@@mrscurtis0801 yes. Perlite or moss. Cover to keep the humidity.
Love me a plant tour video ❤
At 1 hour 10minutes the philodendron you are showing with really red leaves may not be a prince of orange. Those should have very dark orange leaves coming in. It might be a sun red philo as those leaves are supposed to be very red. I have been trying to find a good video showing all the orange and red leaf self heading philodendrons but haven’t been able to yet
I’m really struggling with my hoya gracillas. It keeps getting root rot and I have it under a grow light and can’t seem to figure out what it wants for watering. I had it under really high lights and it got really yellow prior. I did get 2 new shoots coming off but those are being rerooted
I highly recommend lechuza pon.
@@sailingkeao9531 thank you. I’m going to put my 2 cuttings I have rooting in perlite in pon soon. I do have 1 rooted in soil and I’m going to keep that and see what happens. Thanks again
At 43 minutes is that a Hoya fungii? The newer leaves are kinda fuzzy and a lot of bright light will yellow those leaves
That is an interesting guess. It doesn’t have the visible veins like the fungii. But it could be. I really appreciate the suggestion. When it blooms, it may be easier to identify. 😀
@@sailingkeao9531 it could be a cross of 2 Hoyas. I’m seeing those more and more
Ooo. I suppose we may never know then. Got any punny Hoya name idea to give her? NoID bores me.
How do you care for the Aurea? It’s amount and pattern looks exactly like mine yet my half moon leaves or patchy ones keep browning off whenever a new leaf starts forming… it gets the same exact care as my highly variegated albo and Thai which have not grown ever lol
I have heard about people using silica but have never tried it. I might give it a try too
Zo mooi he je planten collectie. ❤❤ Mij planten groeien iet Zo goed. Ik zie dat bijna al je plantenbin hydrookorels zit klopt dat? Veel groetjes uit Nederland ❤
I have just changed 2 of my plants to semi hydro and they seem happy. In your opinion will this cut down on pests? I hope so!
It cut down on the fungus gnats. I never see them anymore. I used to think it cut down on other pest, but I just found spider mites on one of my alocasias so… Yeah, I will go ahead and say that it cuts down on pests. But I’m constantly treating and checking. If I even get a bad feeling about an imaginary pest, I usually go bananas and spray everything. 🤣🙃🤣
Semi hydros the way to go. 10 out of 10 would recommend. Knock on wood, but it definitely increased all of my plants potential. It takes all the guest work out. You can see the root health. You know exactly what you’re fertilizing with and you can see exactly how much water you’re giving it.
Great Florida Beauty!
Thanks sis! ❤
I like the Dragon Scale plant!
How is Lecca .. do you fill only with water 1 inch and not more?
Yes, I keep about an inch or 2 of water.
@@sailingkeao9531 ok that's interesting. so after they prop in water I can just toss lecca in and reduce the water and that's it? They won't wilt?
I usually add about a 3 inch layer and then put the plant in. That way I can just have a reservoir at the bottom. And if the roots want to go down there, they have that option. It’s also super important to fertilize with liquid fertilizer to. I feed all of my plants with General hydroponics three part fertilizer. Except my carnivorous plants. I like this brand because I can add extra bloom to my begonias and Hoyas.
Wait, what is leaf melt?! I think that's been happening to some of my leaves. Also, why did some guy pop out of the bushes like that?!!
My ac was at 72 for too long and my silver sword had a leaf melt. I put it in my milbo greenhouse cabinet asap.
lol, that’s my kid. He is trolling me. He thinks it’s hysterical. I don’t know why my leaves are melting, but I got a philodendron white wizard that kept melting one time and I do believe those were temperature related. I agree Jacqueline.
@@sailingkeao9531 Absolutely. My sword has been perfect for months and the one day it gets hit my AC at 70 and boom. Melt down.
Awe that’s a real bummer. I’m a little too familiar with those tragedies. 😢
how was your experience overall with plant con? was it overwhelming or fun, expensive to go as a regular person vs a content creator, did you feel like you got some good deals or that things were overpriced etc?
Plant con was a lot of fun and there were so many plants that are only available online around here. It was not overly expensive. I definitely felt like I got a good deal. Even though my queen anthurium didn’t have roots, it was fine because I know that I can root it. If I had purchased it online, it would’ve been twice the price and probably wouldn’t have had roots either. I don’t remember how much I paid for early admission but it wasn’t that much more and I got to enjoy myself before it got busy. I had so much fun that I didn’t even pull out my phone to record but a few times.
@@sailingkeao9531 thanks!!
Has anyone noticed a funny surprise between monstera leaves? 😂😂😂❤️
Yes… he is trolling me 🤣 good eye!
Please ID name for part 2 next time

Very beautiful. Very nice video==The choice of plants for gardening is good
how many your collections? they all great in your hand 💚🤘
The black velvet has purple backs, so i think yours is somerhing else🤔 The scalprum looks more like a platinum😊 Beautiful collection❤️
I bought it as a scalprum but it beginning to look more like a bisma.
And thank you 😊
Hey, love the video. I think your alocasia scalprum is not scalprum, looks more like Bisma maybe, not sure. But is much too wide and much too silver to be scalprum. Florida beauty is only veriegated, if it has no variegation it means it is a normal Philodendron Florida.
Hola, perdon no hablo ingles, siempre mantienes el mismo nivel de agua, como las abonas?...te pediria un video sobre tus cuidados en hidroponia.Gracias
