My luck for the week ran dry! #tmctransportation #tmc
I have family in Phoenix too and lived in Central Valley California for 30 years, now live in Texas working for TMC
Looking forward to starting this Monday 9/30/2024. Hopefully you're still there!
My question is. Does tmc travel all over the country or just certain parts. Or just depends on what state u get hired.
Tmc got hard hats well I have to have hard hats made for my company that is a Good Idea and I can write it off since I’m actually a company owner of my own business but you gave a girl a Great idea Thank You 🙏🏻 💖💖💖 Poptart
Happy belated birthday Big Homie!!!!! I’m glad you and your trainee got to visit family, you did the same for me in Texas……..Still a solid solid Dude 💪🏾 Take care and be safe out there!
Do they give u like the jackets shirts and stuff?
Thanks for the video, we never knew how it was done, great job 😃
pssst you know you can make an edge protector pole from some pvc for probably 20 bucks. right? Damn he was just going to up and vanish with out saying a word to you thats crazy. how long do you typically have a trainee on the truck start to finish?
My question is; who signed off on the delivery, where they didn’t accept on Friday’s?
Perez Gary Thompson Charles Wilson Linda
Wish TMC would have hired me lol
Me too! Sorry man! :-( Hopefully in the future!
Hey man! Question about orientation. I am supposed to go to IA in October for orientation, and I was just curious if you’re allowed to go home for the weekends or stay there the whole two weeks? Love your videos, part of the reason why I leaned towards TMC!
Excellent job. The best job I've seen strapping a difficult load.
Thank you big homie! :-)
As a new driver to flatbed, plus I have a bad back & knees, im over weight, not very active (extremely lazy), AND a chain smoker, im not looking forward to having to fold these. 80,000 lb lumber loads requiring 2 lumber tarps per load, 2-3 times a week for the foreseeable future, this is going to kill me
Yikes! Tough times ahead! Hang in there big buddy! Take your time and please don’t die!
@whitecollartrucker I appreciate the kind words and I'll do my best, lol. I'm from Ontario, Canada and will be running quad axle trailers of lumber to Northern parts of Ontario & Quebec. Tarping, from what I've been told, is mostly in the winter months due to the salt and grime on the roads. I've pulled heavy loads many times in my 20+ years of driving as well as driven North. I just haven't run heavy flatbed loads up there, especially in the winter. They can get a couple of feet of snow in any given day, so the roads are gonna SUCK!!! There's also wild life year round and the highway is mostly 2 lanes (1 in each direction) and have very little civilization between small towns. Not to mention the hills. It'll definitely be interesting. If tarping doesn't kill me, the roads and wild life might. I'll just do my best
Geez! You are going to have your work cut out for you! Hopefully Mother Nature can keep the pesky animals out of your headlights and you live happily ever after! :-)
@@whitecollartrucker That's the goal
In training rn
Awesome! I hope it’s going well!
@@whitecollartrucker thank you man stay safe brother.
Hope you didn’t train the bonehead that on his way to get his first load got hit by the train in Brownsburg!!
Great information man how is the work schedule there
Everyday is different man! Only consistency about truck driving is inconsistency!
Wow Paul not me but two trainees what a rough week I would of been a bit upset about that but you had an AWSOME bounce back great on you buddy
Yeah man! Bouncing back like a basketball! :-)
Skylights for walmart or buildings like it
Yes indeed! It exactly what they are!
The money is ok for a mega carrier but it actually is not great money for the amount of work and sacrifice. $250-$300 per day at the absolute best
When all said and done for the year 110k-115k is good enough for me.
Understood sir but was training your replacement and giving up a year of your life really worth it? Is your 34-35% really 34-35 % of the gross of the load? Hmmm Have you ever seen a rate con?
@@jmb5742 TMC takes their cut from the load gross. They have tons to pay for new trucks, office employee salaries, fuel, truck insurance, building insurance and probably so so much more I can’t think of right now. So when I get dispatched a load. I know the load gross isn’t the whole load gross. TMC has overhead it needs to pay for.
@@whitecollartrucker brother I am on your side make no mistake about it. But think about what you just said. Your really only getting 20-25% of load gross
.65 per mile is your pay would be my guess
I loaded those sky lights last week out of SC.
That’s what they are skylights! Could not think of the name of it for the life of me! Thank you :-)
That’s what they are skylights! Could not think of the name of it for the life of me! Thank you :-)
I met you at the terminal in Gaston. Was talking to u about watching one of your videos not long ago. I’m new here. my first solo run with the company was them skylights like u got on the trailer. Picked it up behind fugu film in green wood sc took it to a Walmart store.i live 30 mins from there
Oh heck yeah! That’s exactly where I’m going to a Walmart store in Iowa. Did you deliver to a Walmart in Iowa? Got to tell you this is a great first load to get by yourself. Nice and easy no tarp very light on the trailer.
@@whitecollartrucker I took mine to a Walmart in NC
I lasted 3 months the first time I went otr. This was 2 years ago. This year I am otr again and so far I see life differently and my mind is clear and no stress. So as for now I am 4 months otr and looking forward to being otr until next year when my fiance gets to the states. Good money. Sometimes hard to make the long drives but when I get my check on Fridays I am ready for the next load. This life isn't for everyone.
Yes sir I couldn’t agree more! I’m glad things are going well for you. See you on the road. Don’t be shy and say hi! :-)
Do they hire driver live in Houston ? Have my cdl 5 years dry van. I just need flatbed training.
Yes sir we sure do hire in the Houston area. Since you’re experience driver, you have the option to do two weeks of flatbed training with your trainer or three weeks. I would recommend three weeks to get 15 loads of securement training. As opposed to only 10 loads of securement training with two weeks. Before you fill out an application, please shoot me a message 818-457-1771 so I can enter your information in into our Driver Referral portal and I would get a bonus when you make it through orientation
@whitecollartrucker Thank you bruh, I will definitely.
Go get them buddy. You’re killing it.
Thanks ninja!
Great video. I always love the TMC fleet black and chrome if I could drive. that's where I would go.
Heck yeah man! I try to get my truck washed every Sunday! :-)
I worked for tmc for about 3 months by myself and 4 weeks with trainer but i had to quit because i had to get some personal stuff done that i just couldnt get done while on the road...will they accept me back?
Yes, I believe so! I mean, that is if you left on good terms.
@whitecollartrucker I remember seeing you in Des Moines when I was in TQM class...you were there for safety meeting...wanted to say hi but didn't want to bother...thanks for responding
Can you send the link to the edger protector pole ?
amzn.to/3X6VHXz
I have a question for ya. I applied for TMC and received a message and some emails from a recruiter names Nikki. Each email says to call. So i have been calling. Never get to talk to her its always a voicemail. I leave messages and send messages and ive yet to hear anything from her. Any advice? TMC has always been my top choice
That is odd! Shoot me a text 818-457-1771 and I will give you another phone number to call to the recruiting department.
When you're empty, do you always get a choice of loads?
No, we don’t always get options. Most of the time we just get dispatched they don’t want to give load options especially the new drivers because maybe the best paying load is not always the best paying load because it could put you in a bad area and worst case put you in an area where you might be able to get home
Does TMC allow you to buy your own "little giant" ladder and keep on the truck?
Yes, there are some people that have little ladders on their truck. I used to have a stepladder hidden away on my trailer, but I forgot it in a trailer and now it’s gone sad face.
Do you have to know how to drive manual? Or are the trucks you guys drive automatic. Or both?
Thankfully, the trucks are automatic! :-)
TMC looks like a good place to go. I saw that they don't have APUs however. Do you generally just have to idle overnight to keep cool when you are staying in really hot climates? Is there any way to run a TV, xbox etc without idling?
Yes, we have inverters that you are able to have your TV and Xbox/PlayStation playing without the truck idling. You are able to idle while in very hot weather, but TMC does frown upon it and it does affect your MPG’s negatively which could affect your percentage pay.
It's Anthony
Hey Anthony! That for watching! :-)
Holy smokes dude, way to go
I know right! I’m no where near that now though!
Glad you’re no longer MIA and you survived The Big Apple…
Yes indeed! :-)
What's with that nos? Lol
Hahaha!
Hey Paul you must be busting some ass trying to be #1, you haven't made any video's lately. Keep it rolling and be safe.
Yes working my little tail off!
Good job
Thanks big homie! :-)
Can't wait to start training on Monday the 22nd hope all goes well and I can get a trainer like you or maybe even have you as a trainer
You might be in orientation with my new trainee.
Would be so awesome if I got you as a trainer
That sure would! I’m all booked up. Finishing up with a trainee this week and have a subscriber starting with me this Sunday.
somebody went to SSAB love picking up loads from that place
Hahaha
I think it's spelled coils, not coals on your video title.
Hahaha wow! You’re so right! Thanks for catching that! :-)
How can i run freezer/fridge if no apu and cant idle truck?
Inverter
I heard TMC offers home time every weekend. Is that true? Are the miles consistent even with how the freight market is right now?
Yes. You get home every weekend if you want to. I’ve been with a company for roughly 3 1/2 years and there’s only been one weekend that I wanted to go home that I was unable to get home.
I heard TMC will not provide microwave or a fridge , but they put a satellite tv in the truck. The first two are essential , satellite tv is not, and don’t cost a ton of money but they will not provide them. Also, they don’t provide APUs …. A shame! The recruiter lied to me and told me they do!I could care less about their satellite tv. How do you supposed to sleep if there is 100F outside ? Means inside it will be 120F. Or how about -20F in Canada? It just doesn’t make sense to me! I have signed up for their training program but the more information I get about them, the less motivation I have to move forward with them.
We do have bunk heaters in the truck. You can survive out here without a refrigerator and a microwave. Microwaves are very inexpensive at Walmart. If you want to get one I do have one myself. And I do have a cooler to keep waters cold. I do not have a refrigerator. I do not need one cooler works just fine. You are allowed to idle your truck when necessary. It is frowned upon and will affect your MPG which could affect your percentage pay. Last I heard the satellite TV is no longer an option. A lot of the newer trucks have smart TVs. I use my Amazon fire stick.
@@whitecollartrucker Thank you for your answer! I see, I guess I had too big of an explanations for TMC and I’m sure they are a still a good company to work for. And I have one more question if you don’t mind me asking : When you go home for either your 34 reset or just in general, where do you park your truck? Can you take your tractor to your house and leave the trailer at the terminal or they both need to be left at the terminal ? If that’s the case, it will be a deal breaker for me as the closest TMC terminal for me is 4 hours away
@@Lovetrucking no problem! When you go home, you will take your truck and trailer with you. You will need to find a truckstop or a big lot or big parking lot where you could park it near your house. You could also try to get permission at a Walmart, Home Depot, Lowe’s or Menards. The parking lot where I’m gonna be parking for the weekend. You’ll go home with the load on Friday and to be successful at TMC. I highly recommend you parking up Sunday nights which means you get to the receiver of that load Sunday night by 9 PM.
Thanks for your response! And one last thing- TMC trucks have manual or automatic transmissions ?
@@Lovetrucking you’re very welcome! Automatic!
Loving the content since I'm working on getting my permit to go to TMC CDL training
Thanks! Have you filled out application yet?
@@whitecollartrucker yes I'm going Thursday for my permit test then I gotta call them when I pass that then they will get everything going

Congrats
Thanks big homie!
Did you deliver that to a Boise Cascade?
No I took it Hammond, LA
How’s it going brother I’m in CDL school currently on track to finish in September and am going to TMC!! Are you still training? I would love to be trained by the best congratulations aswell!!!
