Are Marigolds REALLY Magic? Pest Repellant? Healing Powers? The Truth...
Просмотров 9258 месяцев назад
I have talked to a number of people who love plants. What's more, I've worked with plants quite a bit myself. In conversation, I often hear the phrases, 'I love my marigolds! They keep the mosquitos away.' Or, 'Marigolds are good in tea.' Or, 'Plant marigolds with your tomatoes! It protects them from hornworms.' I began to wonder, do marigolds really do all of those things? Since I was curious,...

    Try making refrigerator pickles with those cucumbers. I slice them into rounds and add some sliced onions . I add white or cider vinegar and a little water. More vinegar than water and you can use straight vinegar. I add a tablespoon of sugar, some pickling spice and salt. Let sit for a couple of hours at least but they last about a week in the refrigerator . Usually are all eaten before a week is ever up though. I also pick my cucumbers smaller unless they get away from me. And here in California I have to succession plant cucumbers because the vines "peter out " rather quickly in our heat. I love your videos. Your new garden beds are going to be wonderful.

    Your garden looks great and shows all of the work that you put into it. Although I am way older than you 😁 I only started gardening 4 years ago. The first couple of years I was frustrated. My plants looked great but they just didn't produce the amount of food that they should have (not even close!). The third year things started looking a little better. I had perfected some of my skills and enriched my soil every year like you are doing. I started feeling more optimistic. This year, my 4th year, my garden is looking great and is FINALLY producing like I always heard that it could. Keep going, you are doing amazing! 🌱 🍓 🍅 🫑

    Wow you are the first person I have seen (besides myself) who gets mystery peppers! I start all of my own plants and last year my rainbow bell pepper seeds grew ornamental bell pepper plants! This year I bought new Rainbow Bell Pepper seeds from a different supplier - different brand - and this year I got hot peppers! I am so disappointed. We only like sweet peppers in my house so when the plants show themselves to be making hot peppers, I pull the plant and put in compost. I cant waste the water and fertilizer on growing what we will not eat. I don't know what is going on with pepper plants. I had decided next year I will buy pepper plant starts rather than seeds....but i am thinking that you bought pepper plants right?

    • @savvydaughter7368
      @savvydaughter7368 6 месяцев назад

      Oh no! That's frustrating. My Dad actually started my pepper plants from seed over winter. We started several hundred in our kitchen to sell in the nursery. I kept a few to plant. That's one reason I'm baffled about what they're doing.
