(As a mail sorter i was getting $42/hr for night shift, its the only shift too, cos its a giant tin shed... In australia... You do know that the reason many of the large corporations are going with an unlimited PTO and no specified accrual of PTO is to avoid paying out unused PTO when laying off personnel or firing them.
Id rather have 4 10s than five 4s an 8 and a split 12 like I deal with currently. No day off in 6 months and job hunting is difficult when your car breaks down so you ride a bicycle to work 6 miles each way. All I'm saying is that perspective matters, I'm almost homeless but there are those worse than me so I'm tired of listening to people that are better off whining about their lot. Do something about it or shut up, but for the love of whatever you may believe in please stop freaking whining about it to me and others who don't care, it doesn't help you, it just makes others slightly more annoyed with you.

That does depend on the state though, a job i worked at i would get overtime after 8 hours clocked in in a day and after 40 hours clocked in in a week. I think one week i had 8 hours (7:30 because of a clocked out 30) 6 days a week. Another time i had a 9 hour shift (8:30) and got 30 minutes of overtime. Both times my employer wanted to say that i should have clocked out sooner, as if she didn't assign me the work and told me to work until the last customer was gone. Obviously she just wanted me to work while clocked out, which of course I'm not going to do.
being fired for giving a 2 week notice is retaliation and is punishable by a 100,000 fine from the department of labor

Most companies and states in the US don't pay out unused PTO.Use your PTO BEFORE you quit!!!
how about my old situation? 60hrs/5days approx. 12hrs/day five days straight, no breaks allowed, no eating unless time allowed it (never did) and my contract stated 37.5hrs/week maximum...
About this time last year i had to wait for my final check almost a month and a half. Wish i knew this was a thing and would have been way better off instead of calling and ran around..
Depends on your State. In California that’s unpaid overtime. Didn’t sue my employer, let the Department of Labor handle it.

Overtime isn't real for the working class. I was working 90 hour work weeks at Walmart. 7 days a week, up to 18 or 19 hours consecutively. My pay? $14.50/hour. I was basically just picking up extra shifts, and that legally isn't classified as overtime. Company says I'm only allowed to work 40 hours, but management scheduled me batshit crazy hours. I worked night and day for 2 months and I was still a "part time associate"
All California employers should make operating a fork lift a mandatory requirement for every roll. F your laws California.
