does WM range reforge affect ice WM?

You are really making me think to swap from DD Giant to EK when I have the funds for it (hopefully). I mean, DD is fun for me as it get the job done cheaper (I practically only have my Demo staff and Link 9 and I feel I contribute quite decently for tech HM runs. But your EK gameplay looks way more fun, ofc I know you probablly have maxed or near max end game gear maybe just missing extreme min/max in certain aspect which will be couple of billions from where I am but a man can dream lol

The EK changes finally have arrived! I meant to get this out earlier but my internet was failing me :( Heading into this, I estimated I would be roughly getting a 20% increase or more damage in solo DPS (Rage Impact +20% for all EK + Close Combat skills, +4% Instill Max, +20% on Shattering Windmill + Dynavolt Smash combo, and don't forget 8 music buff from harmonic saint and inspiring rate changes c:). Seeing as how my runs were on average 30 seconds faster, it's probably somewhere around there. In party play, I feel that it will actually be even more, because it was very difficult to Rage Impact your own Dynavolts (especially with other EKs, but even without any other EKs, there'd be other things that took it off, like chain blades, knuckles, pets, etc.). Previously I felt like I did no damage if I did not Rage Impact and Crit my Dynavolt Smashes, and felt terrible whenever that happened. Changing it to a duration improves party synergy, while also making damage more consistent, and more importantly, better overall. The new Shattering Windmill is amazing, and even accounting for Dynavolt Smash's slight drop in damage, the two skills combined deal 20% more now, which is a noticeable increase in burst. I was still able to pull off 1m+ Dynavolts in this clear, so the drop in damage is pretty minimal. Under the same conditions, Shattering Windmill also dealt 400k+ damage, so the two combined were a 1.5m burst of damage which is very nice! Rage Impact being changed to a duration also helps the Time Shift burst a lot, as previously I would be lucky to Rage Impact two Dynavolts with the rest being unbuffed, but now all Dynavolts are Rage Impacted :) Also, the updated Rage Impact hitbox is a huge improvement as previously I had to stand directly on top of the boss, which is no longer the case anymore. While I did get a huge crit reaper Dynavolt Smash, I think it just balanced the fact that I only crit 1 out of 6 Dynavolts prior to that which was a bit unlucky. I actually did not crit a Dynavolt again until the very last moment during Time Shift, which I suppose is when it mattered the most though hehe :) P.S. Audio might be a little quieter because I'm trying to make the audio more consistent for the future.

Darkmage is powerful enough to make other arcana look silly, but it's not as fun to play as it should be. It's easy to play with just fireballs, but it can be a little boring.

Huge text post, TLDR at the bottom. Hey everyone, I created this giant on June 18, as I wanted to experience what it was like to play a giant EK. I maxed out most of this character with the Masterplan buffs, and have also been practicing it in Techs and Glenn Hard for a month, and Theta the past two weeks. As a result of learning from past clears with my human and elf, investing in gear, and racial differences, this clear was a huge improvement on the previous ones. I wanted to get a more experienced clear out to compare against the EK buffs anticipated soon. For example, the highest Dynavolt Smashes I reached in the previous videos were 670k on my human (mainly because of the lack of experience with EK and debuffs falling off frequently) and 732k on my elf. Now, I am regularly beating those numbers without Support Shot and even reaching 1m at times (rng permitting - knuckle ego lucky strike, eclipse proc), which I failed to do this in this clear because I was being a Cute Noob and forgot to Death Mark the entire last minute (...) I hit 770k without Death Mark, so it should have been around 1m c: This clear probably would have been closer to 3 minutes, but it's nice to show there's always room for improvement. It was likely because the stressfulness of losing Bash stacks entirely while debuffing was in my head. There was also my habit of using Smokescreen every time, which I think is a DPS loss (unless it's Time Shift, or until the debuff duration increases come). The 2 seconds spent on Smokescreen means the other debuff and bash timers go by, and instead I could be getting an additional Smash+Bash in that same time frame. If we go into the gear, at first, I tried using the NB Vanguard and it was unbelievably easy to stay alive, so I decided to use the Cooking Pot for more damage. It was still easier compared to my human or elf, since I was already doing more damage, and intentionally tanking hits to even further improve dps. While the Smash 10 Thames boots and dual roll Warlord might seem a bit excessive, this EK gear should have similar damage output to a more accessible and commonly used 3 piece smash setup with the hat, shoes, and despair shield (sorry humans and elves), with creepy haunted smash accessories, as I am still missing quite a bit of max damage. +40 max Cooking Pot vs Despair Shield +21 max equivalent Hyperion Diadema vs Smash hat (roughly 1% average dps, assuming 2100 base max) +40 max dual rolled NB Warlord vs. -86 or less max missing from creepy haunted pair -25 or less max missing from body and shoe enchants When Glenn VHM hits, this set will be around 400 max off the best in slot gear (with Soluna), which means around 30% (?) more damage is attainable, so with the EK buffs in mind it'll be in a great spot, even without a Soluna. I wasn’t too sure about the uptime on the Hyperion Eclipse effect for EK heading into this, but the ~7% bonus damage applying to even arcana skills was too large to ignore. I'm glad I went with it as it's noticeable, even if it’s not up all the time. Since the EK buffs will reduce Shattering windmill’s cooldown to 9 seconds, the uptime will improve because it should check 4 out of every 9 seconds by itself (initial damage, two ticks after, then defrost). It's still RNG, but I don't feel EK is that much worse than an AS since Rage Impact, Smash, and Bash fulfill most of the per second checks. Fun fact, in my AS video, I actually did not proc Sun until after 2 minutes in :) Anyways if you made it this far, great effort reading LOL :). I'll likely upload a couple more EK clears, both on my giant and human, to compare the racial differences more fairly, and to see the differences after the EK buffs. TLDR: Giant EK is on a completely different level to humans and elves, and a high skill ceiling exists for EK which is demonstrated by the huge improvements in clear times as time goes on.

You seem to be using an ultrawide monitor. It seems to help a lot with the grandeur of the game, but does it cause any inconvenience to check skill cooldowns or press them by hand?

Is fireball preferably compared to thunder?

Since a few people were curious, here is a Ruin Staff clear. Like my wand gear, my staff gear lacks a lot because everything is the same besides the reforges on the head and accs. Made a couple of mistakes like in the wand video but definitely could have played a lot worse, so I feel that this is a fair run. I find it difficult to make conclusions since crit rng is a huge factor, as well as not really knowing how to compare damage. But instead of looking at the clear times of each run, I feel a good place to start is by observing the burst in short intervals, like one Thunderblight phase? For example: With the ruin staff, I crit 2 out of the first 3 Shadow Flares, and had full dps uptime during the first Thunderblight . With the nb wand, I crit 1 out of the first 3 Shadow Flares, and scuffed the first Thunderblight by barely fusion bolting, and turned on Exploit Weakness and Polar Vortex late. I still pushed to the 70% zombie spawn faster with the wand, which to me sounds like Fusion Bolt with the wand carries a lot more weight compared to Fireball with a ruin staff? The Shadow Flare numbers are obviously far higher with a ruin staff, so with high enough casting speed and Vivace it should have a more powerful Time Shift burst, assuming Dorcha has been managed well. Feel free to share your opinions or correct me if I'm mistaken c:

So other than the casting speed reforge, do you feel that is enough or is erg needed as well for that type of speed? Of course ping plays into that, I played around with a high casting speed wand but couldn’t fire off as fast and didn’t have the money to erg50 to test out the speeds

Back to fusion bolting, I don't really have a passion (?) for Dark Diviner and it clearly shows in the lack of effort I put into my gear. If you look carefully in the video when I swap to my wand there's no 2nd title because I did not even realize I unequipped the Theta 2nd title so -47 MA right there as well :) I'm missing close to 300 MA, few levels of the hat reforges, 2 pierce from bells, 2 pierce from hydra echo, Hebona or Hyperion set effects, casting speed from gacha enchants/titles which would support BFO, 14% from combo card, all of these probably add up around 50% more attainable damage, before even considering the 40 ping gap. Oh and as always I forgot Ladeca again :) Gameplay wise I started off slow and messed up my first Thunderblight, otherwise I would have hit 70% with a single Thunderblight as I've done in the past, but the rest of the run was fine. So the room for improvement is immensely high, and in the right hands the damage will be on an entirely different level.

Which echostones do you think is the best for EK? I'm still new to echostones and such!

I realized it's already been 8 months since my first AS clear video. Along with most of my other early clear videos, that was a first time clear and had many mistakes, so I'd like to revisit them and showcase recent clears. It was very difficult pulling off the first time clear, even with help from Voice of Vitality and the Special Imperial Knight Armor for tanking hits. Now, with better gear and experience I can pull off faster and consistent clears without either of them. That being said I forgot to use Ladeca again so this took a bit longer than it needed to :)

I am currently playing an EK Elf also, but I have gone another route. I went the hammer shield route. I am slowly building the NB enforcer but I feel as though the NB shield isn't worth the investment at my currently point in the game minus the extra 10% damage reduction compared to the Perseus one. Do you feel that it would be able to get close to this level?
