@@angelicamunoz1308 unplug your battery. Sorry this happened to you. As far as the lock cylinder they are easy to replace, but might have to buy a new one from triumph
No good it must be brigh not dark or dim .
@@florencioarias5639 thanks for watching
great viideo dude
Glad you liked it. Just here to help.
What is the ecu model number please .I need to replace mine
Thanks man . Good video.
Question? I put the #4 allen key in turn left & right & it spins freely, is that suppose to happen or is it only suppose to turn so much before a spring stops it?
The little piston in the EGR valve should have some resistance but it you snap it closed and open then you will probably see alot of carbon. Also side not you might have to do this process a few times maybe 2 or three taking the piece off the car cleaning and putting it back on because my system had huge chucks of carbon that broke loose after I cleaned the system that got the EGR stuck open again. Also I sold that 07 vehicle and picked up a 2012 same one but more luxury options. It's got about 190k on it now and I've had no problems with it.
@henrymatthews9365 thanks for the quick response, I'm just not sure if mine is broken or what because it keeps spinning, it has zero resistance, that's normal?
What is your top yoke please??
What do you mean by top yoke?
If you're referring to the triple tree it's the one that came stock on the bike.
Very dizzy watching the video.
So i guess when you spray from under the valve cover IT Will go down where you rénovémed that thing
Yeah I guess you could spray the other way too. I think I did both ways. I don't have that acura anymore I upgraded to 2012 now.
Use synthetic oil to cut down on the carbon you see in your engine. All this carbon is a biproduct of combustion and the less the engine makes the less is recirculated back into it through the EGR and PCV system. Before OBD when they used the sniffer in the exhaust, if you failed the sniffer you could go change your oil to synthetic and it normally would pass the test. Less HC's less carbon buildup.
This was very helpful! I have 2 questions for you. 1. How many connections are under the fuel tank for when i have to take the whole tank off? 2. Is ECU the part on the bike which is used to cancel a check engine light? And am i supposed to use a OBD2 tool for it?
There are 2 connections attached both I think on the tank. 1 is the fuel pump connections and the other is the fuel line connection goes from the pump down to the rail. 2ND YES if you have a check engine light you need a scan tool to clear it or find out what's wrong. Typically on these it's the exhaust valve code.
I use a program called tune ecu to make the bike forget about the exhaust valve and leave it wide open. Also I make my intake flapper valve open at a lower ecu.
@@henrymatthews9365 thank you. I have one more question about my motorcycle but it's unrelated to the gas tank. If you can, please answer it: I got a check engine light because of a faulty o2 sensor. I got the new sensor. When i change it, will the check engine sign go away on its own?
The obdII port is under the seat near the battery.
Tune ecu also come with an obd2 cable connection to USB you plug into your computer and download and install the program to communicate with the bike. I have a video detailing the process but haven't released it because the video quality is not good
I have the same vehicle and mine won't start it cranks but won't start would a bad egr cause that.. I bought a new battery & the fuel pump works but no start any ideas ?
Sorry man just getting back to you. I've heard that some of these have bad crank sensors. Also it does have a timing belt so hopefully it didn't snap. If a vacuum leak is present in the system it would run but run badly.
Hi I have same code but I have miss fire on alll cylinders 123456
Did you do the service then get the misfire or the misfire codes are stored along with the egr code? Before you tried the service?
I haven’t done anything yet It has code for the EGR in all the misfires and all cylinders I scanned the car and as with the cost they came out . Thank you for replying back
@@gerardogarcia52 no problem there is a guy on yt who had the same issue. If you search for the problem on the 07. He fixes it with an valve adjustment.
Thank you Henry
The piece that you referred to as having to do with the vtec system is not related to the vtec system that piece is the intake manifold tuning valve actuator and is controlled by the pcm to manipulate the air flow through the intake manifold.
Thanks you for the correction.
Thank you for the vid, very helpful!
Glad I could help these are popular suvs and I love pulling back the curtain abit on what stealership charge us for.
Sorry for the sniffing. Was in my garage in winter with no heat.
What is the mileage?
The mileage was around 95 k. But I traded that blue 2007 in on a 2012 probably a few months after I posted this video. Thanks for the comment.
Hope this video helps you save money. Sorry about the sniffing it was cold in the garage.
No dual stage intake? Thought all mdx had that.
Good info! Man that’s a lot of carbon your air hose blew out. On a less positive note, please blow your nose before filming. You were snorting as much as a rock n roll star.
Lol yeah it was cold in the garage and I was doing to filming myself and not a camera guy just a tech helping people hopefully save money and find out why things break. Lol glad this vid is still helpful all these years later. That one got hit shortly after the video in Putin Bay so I had it repaired and traded it for an 2012 MDX.
My 675 keeps dieting once it gets hot... Cant find anyone that knows what's going on...
You should test the circuit for the crank position sensor and stator. Last season mine was dieing intermittent and wouldn't start (would turnover but not start) I had it diagnosed as a crank position sensor but they wanted almost 1500 to do the job so I did it myself. If you do end up trying to get the crank position sensor it comes with the stator attached so you have to pull seat, battery ,tank, left fairing , airbox and upper wiring harness, coolant hose and , stator cover, sounds more complicated than it is. Good luck with the repair.
More than likely your crank sensor is getting hot then creates an open so you bike stops running there are a few videos on RUclips of how to check for a bad crank sensor on Daytona 675's.
I just did that on 2001 cl type s . I gain another 60 miles on a quarter tank. I lost one bolt on top plate. It whistles now. Have to get another 10mm bolt. This cover has a metal gasket.
question for ya, is there a little bit of wobble once all put back into place? Not a lot but just a little
Nah no wobble for me the two Allen's at the top should be flush if you do have a wobble check to make sure your fuel hose isn't pinched everything underneath should clear the belly of the tank with ease nothing should touch
Sorry just getting back to you hope this helps
Henry Matthews hmm, I checked everything, seemed like all was clear. I'll double check. if not ill post a video of wobble
Derrick Marks is it wobbly while all the bolts are in and it's this the tank your referring to as having a wobble or ECU or air box housing
hankmatt1 its wobbly after all put back into place
Thank you!
No problem I hope the repair went smooth for you with basic tools you can accomplish just about any repairs.
Hey man, my name is Jonathan Weaver. I'm on columbus riders or if you could text me I have some questions. (614)787-6353 Just bought a 07 daytona 675 . Thanks brother.
What's up you can email me your questions hank_sno@hotmail.com
how much time would you estimate for the job
Took about 2 hours
Michael Kummer most of the time was spent cleaning the parts. also you might have to clean it and clean the actual egr valve and if you are reusing the old egr run the vehicle at highway speeds then take the top off again and the egr out again blow some compressed air through it and make sure there's no carbon stuck in the egr.
This car is a 2007 acura mdx
Ummmm Car in title might be useful.... Why is make model year as hard to get from people as their social??
Car was a 2007 Acura Mdx
FYI it doesn't matter if you have a full tank of gas, it won't drain out of the line once it's disconnected.
Great video man! Will put this to use
Awesome glad you enjoyed the vid
I dont believe they changed the bike that much so many of the bolts probably are the same. Also that is one sexy beast. Can't wait to see your updates riding and modifications
Could you do a video on the ECU. And what you need to do to remove and replace it.
Sure the program is called TUNECU. and there's no removal required
+Henry Matthews my ECU went bad. I don't got the money to take it to the shop so I wanna do it myself.
Ok its super easy. The ecu is located under the gas tank right on top of the air box. You take the seat off there's a long 10mm screw holding the tank to the frame. Then take the 2 allen bolts at the front of the tank. Be careful cause the only thing holding the tank at that point is the hose connected to your fuel pump. At this point you can choose to deal with this connector it will be on the right side towards the back of the tank underneath of course. Or you can do what i did ill make a quick vid
+Steve Francis new videos up
Sorry no i do not. Call any triumph dealership
Do you remember the part number for the spark plugs ??
Then compressed air a nozzle and a towel kind of covering the open port so carbon wouldn't get blown out into my face. after letting the carb cleaner sit in the tube that's the best way to get it out
I had to get creative with a long very slender brush to get into the egr tube
Yes alot of carb cleaner maybe 3 or 4 cans
Did you use carb cleaner or any other product to clean egr valve and/or port?
Stay tuned I'm going to post a detailed video of how to use tunecu to get rid of trouble lights and tune the daytona a bit. And maybe flash a map on the ecu
Great video!!
Sure its about time to check it again
Can you post a future video about the air filter? Thank you!
Sure no problem
Henry Matthews I have the same bike and couldn't find any videos to help guide me through the maintenance and yours was extremely helpful! =)
That's awesome these bikes are nice and easy to maintain.
Awesome video. Thanks for the upload. Im looking into getting a 675 and was wondering what needed to be done service wise since the closest dealer to me is about 110 miles away. It does look a bit simple to work on. Im not a mechanical guy (never tried anything ever) but my lawnmower broke down yesterday so i got out my tools and disassembled the engine, carburator, and fuel pump amd was surprised how simple tinkering is if you remember what comes from where and have enough smarts to say "oh thats how that works" after seeing a couple things that were just not looking right and moving a couple parts to where they looked like they should go, i put it all back together and beginning to end in 2 hours or so ot started right up and not onky saved me about $200 in repair labor but runs now better than the day i bought it -must have had a small issue to begin with that finally went real bad- Anyway, i figured a bike couldnt be too hard to do since its all in a small area and this model really speaks to me. Does the service manual say all the things that need to be done and when? Or is there a general consensus as to what should be done to all bikes on a regular basis? Im new to biking so im learning on the fly. Seems like sparkplugs, oil, coolant... Any greasing that needs to be done with a bike like cleaning the chain. Do chains get loose and need replacing? Any info is greatly appreciated. Once again cool video, thanks for the informative walkthrough!
Yup pretty much as you said. Maintenance on her is not bad just gotta move things out of the way normal hand tools are needed when doing normal maintenance.
thanks for the tour :-)
