Although, video is a few years back, you did an awesome job demonstrating setup for a chain stitch. I like no cuts your video, which demonstrates what could happen during a mistake when threading the serger / overlock. Most important, you explained where the threads need to go once threaded; needle, looper, by demonstrating the threads need to go behind the footer -excellent job. I encourage you to make more videos for the Singer Professional 5, demonstrating many other stitches for the serger and cover stitche too. Well time spent watching and learning -please keep up the work. I subscribed.

You know, you shouldn’t have to put a sticky showing what these dials are. They should be printed on the case. Ridiculous. They are complicated, I think. So thanks for the video. I may have another go at using this machine. I have two other sergers and they are so much easier, but they don’t do all theses stitches. I seriously have a sewing machine addiction...lol

I find it best after you are finished threading the machine, go back and reset the ATD because it is easy to bump those tension levers while threading and knock it out of the correct auto-tension. You did a great job with this video and the camera work was really good! It takes practice to get it right. I like the labeling--I've done that on my serger, too.

I loved your video. I've never had a serger before and have been sewing since childhood. I heard they were hard to use and let the fear of others block me. Well at 60yrs old I got this serger. I love it! It took me and hour to really understand the treading. Chalk that up to ole eyes..lol Now thanks to you and a few other RUclipsrs I feel like a pro.. BTW I intend to copy your idea about the disc.

I am in love with this sewing machine✏>share4.photo/sSewing?16p It makes me smile just thinking how great all the features are. My previous Singer machine could handle thick fabrics and I was happy with it. But once I played with this machine - it's definitely a Porsch version when I now compare to other machine. So quiet. I dont have to test tension, machine does it for me. So far no bobbin issues, hasn't bonded up in the casing. The auto cut feature is divine. I have so many feet - at least 15 of them. What could possibly be missing? The extended table is larger then my older one and I can tell when doing my free motion sewing. I can even sew without a foot pedal. I can embroider words which means I can make tags. I know there's more I love about this machine. Such a great price.

Hello mam loved your video demo I am owning a singer ,xl 580 can you please suggest me whether the feed dogs are to be raised or lowered while doing embroidery in connection to the computer . I as a beginner did embroidery lowering the feed dogs it did well but for the past one week I find the frame not moving and the thread gets entangled under the needle plate.pls do help awaiting for your reply
