I think you ended up on Joe Rogan because he has been hanging out with Shane Gillis A Lot, who is a history buff.. the good kind of history buff that gets annoyed when people start saying stupid s*** about history. They understand the media machine well enough to know that if they pull some big name somebody out, that person will get written off as part of "Big Archeology" trying to sell more Archeology... you're also hella approachable, which helps when some people are intimidated by academics.

The accusations are obscene. I'm still confused about immaterial evidence. Civilizations that could build such megaliths without technology we'd expect to find is confusing as always. These civilizations obviously excelled with construction, travel & transportation. That missing technology required to construction surely isn't understood. In spite of the chaos, it's extremely interesting as to how it's possible without our initial assumptions for human metalurgy as a prerequisite.

Well Dibble, you are just a minor character in today's failed institutions, regardless of type. ALL science, archeology, cosmology, medicine, ... institutions are run by people who simply protect the dogma. NOBODY is allowed to have an alternative view/idea that can threaten the flow of grant money to these institutions. And to get a piece of the pie, everybody, just like you Dibble, has to fall in line or you won't get even that meager teacher salary. Why do you guys think the entire West is falling behind China in all areas so quickly? Because we started blocking new ideas in ALL areas.

@@falkooo002 I've been interested in archeology for the past 40 years. I've studies the mainstream archeology and and alternative ideas all this time and compared results. That is my education. Evidence? Sorry but education or knowledge is NOT a simple link or a pill I can offer you that will open your eyes. It takes years of effort and research and you do it only if you are very interested in the subject. There are NO shortcuts to knowledge. I used to think science was humanity's last bastion of hope but then I realized ALL scientists, archeologists, medicine researches, ... are humans just like the rest of us with self-interests, careers to protect, mortgages, families, bills to pay, ... why would you think they are above it all? It's basically as corrupt as any other part of society. But they are damn good at selling it as the savior of humanity. Where there is money to make, like engineering, we see quick results. But as soon as you enter cosmology, archeology, ... that are based on very little actual science, it's all interpretations. I know, it's too much to accept but it took me decades to accept it too. It's a tough one.

Your presentation on Rogan was one of the best advertisements for institutional archeology, and even the greater academic pursuit I've seen in recent memory. I do hope it doesn't frustrate you too much to talk with people who don't see it as clearly, but have a chip on their shoulder. I do think it's the cross that teachers bear, though. Love you!

While I am loath to defend Hancock, I think his point was that the indigenous Americans _couldn't_ have been easily hoodwinked. He's implying that the Spanish account of Quetzalcoatl being a white bearded dude had to be much older than the conquistadors' arrival, substantiating his theory of Quetzalcoatl as a historical Atlantean survivor. This, of course, is wrong since they were conquered, and their mythological narratives were changed into something that the conquerors would find more comfortable and useful to their ends.
