Bud Shootout Qualifier & Bud Shootout NASCAR Winston Cup Series Daytona International Speedway Daytona Beach, FL February 8th, 1998 Oh I know someone uploaded these races (I'd argue downloading a compressed copy of those from my own suspended channel), but if they are in better quality or can make them be in better quality (sans-VHS hissing noise) then I'll upload them. I won't upload every rac...

1996 Sunoco Ultra 94 Trans-Am Classic
Best Indy race in history Villeneuve was sensational. 2 laps down and wins. What a driver.
Enjoy the satellite feeds of these races
1995 indy was last cart/champcar chassis due to spit!
24:22 race start
Love the bickering between the ansouncers during commercial breaks, glad you left it in.
I've watched every Indy 500 race since the late 1960s, and this was the first time that the officials completely destroyed a race. The 2 lap penalty to Villeneuve was horrendous, all the horrible stop and go penalties that never would have happened in previous years, and then turning the green light on but then costing Goodyear the race because the freaking pace car didn't get off the track fast enough. This race, even though I was Canadian and loved watching a Canadian driver win it, just about cost me my love of Indy racing.
The only thing that makes up for it a bit was that basically every contender got USAC’ed at one time or another, and so I’ve come to enjoy rewatching this one because it has a little bit of everything. But what a joke of a way to run a race. Really drove home the fact USAC in this era only officiated one Indy car race per year as the level of amateurism was palpable. And really made it that much more of a joke that Tony George wanted more of that (at least until mid-1997 when he also kicked USAC to the curb after the Texas scoring debacle).
Thanks for sharing this video Brian! Getting hard to find these great races from the mid-90s back. So, I appreciate your time!
Carnage for all!!
The last 500 before the split.
All the comments about Dale Earnhardt and his lack of performance. Most seem to have forgotten how uncompetitive Dale was for a good long stretch in the 90's. NASCAR was trying to phase him out but he was hard headed and stayed in the seat to long also his son coming up as a serious contender added life to Sr career. Other than Daytona and Talladega Dale ran like Dog shit for several years in the 90's . His death and the perfect rise to fame by his son made him much more popular in the end
Nice to see that year of cars again.
So cool! All the different cars and our fantastic broadcasting team! Bob Varsha was one of the greats and the best American commentator ever! My apologies, thank you for making this race available to us, very appreciated!
Forza Ferrari! So happy to see Moretti win, he truly deserved it!
Daaannnggg, they cheated Gordon bad!! He did the right thing! Rusty was so scummy in all his interviews, he knew what he did!
Cry just a little bit harder
1995. My favourite Indy 500 of all time apart from many others.
What a fantastic race! So many cool cars. Every single car is awesome. I had no idea they raced the CanAm cars at the Daytona 24. Love the Panoz and the GT1 Porsches! Also I meant to say that Bob Varsha was the best racing commentator the US has ever had! Good job Bob!
Rusty Wallace won a IROC race at Daytona in 1989.
Paul Page is the 🐐
Look for the dorky looking guy in the brown and white sweater after Jeff Gordon's interview... Fox's very own Bob Pockrass before he was famous!
Bob Pockrass is not famous
I have experienced the worst weather over the years at the Rolex. Fog, rain, freezing, wind, flooding, that’s what makes the race!
My son was born here almost. Wife went into labor 4 hrs. in.
Genial carrera👌👏
Rodriguez curve? It’s been the hair pin since I was born 55 years ago!
I really really want to like this track but it as if the only place to run a motor race was in a football stadium. It's so short and so repetitive I think I'll just go watch football.
Ridiculous
The Ferrari 333 SP was a fast and beautiful racing machine 👍
Crux of the problem, plus funny off air commentary 1:13:30 JV to the lead. "I have an opinion". "he flipped a bird". 1:14:20 pace car flagging poorly. 1:46:09 pit foul, 1:49: 27 JV 3rd L 42... 1:54:58 announcement "so far he hasn't broken any rules" 1:56:00 Bobby says the truth and on it goes. 2:21:27 S Goodyear stalls after "smooth" initial pit-work! 3:31:06 race save at pit in
1:07:55 1:38:44
1:13:46 Jeremy Dale predicts 2020. Sadly, minus Dale (Earnhardt, that is), the Cup Series finally did run the road course that year.
Race cars and race car teams have come a long way in 20 years. All the high tech seemed like low tech and unreliable back then.
This was Bob Wollek's last race before his was killed. RIP Bob Wollek.
FYI. The infield is massive and is packed tightly with people. They have to turn people away. It’s a great time.
This was a great era . Here are Daytona 24 1997 ..focusing on winning Riley Scott n0 20 . Good sound 🤩 ruclips.net/video/7dQVcaQAuAw/видео.htmlsi=IKEGC80Cj5K6nazY
Dale earnhardt see you later
Jim Downing literally predicted the merger of Grand Am and ALMS in 2013. And since 2014, we have current IMSA
I was there for this, but can you imagine being in one of those 2 Porsches still racing and you come upon a massive parade procession of cars crossing the checkered?!!!
21:45 “this metal is slicker than shit” 😂
I would love it if all sports broadcasts offered an alternate satellite-like broadcast here where you can see all the stuff that happens during commercials here. Hearing all the chitter-chatter of getting stuff together when coming out of the break with the pit reporters is really fascinating (even the small talk at 2:44:18 of ribbing Bobby Unser was entertaining) all while production racks up replays to spot different things like debris or when someone cuts a tire. Also WILD on that Stan Fox crash had his legs dangling out of his car after the wreck and Bobby Unser is worried about all the debris on the track.
4:08:53 4:17:15 4:21:37 Oh ! No Goodyear's over pace Retire 😔😥
1:57:00 ~ ~ Wonderful and Powerful Sound ! So Memories
I was there. Great race
@3:46:50 new pilot changed just missed shift, and cuple second after he made the sign of the cross, what a weird thing !! We don't see things like that nowdays... These cars was very powerfull and really hard to drive..
Villeneuve for me barely 13 at the time growing up in Montreal watching a guy from Quebec dominate racing all the way to the F1 championship was a wild ride. The quick fall was also epic. Thanks for the ride Jacques. Highest of the high to lowest of the low. Should have went to Mclaren after williams.
I love the last comment. Mclaren was mighty 1998-1999.
Should have gone to. 😉
He also beat Schumacher at his own game, which not many, if any had done up to that point.
BAR was so painful after those 4 years of being one of the best/most famous on the planet. His career management could've been wayyy better after 1998, obviously. 2nd place at LeMans was tantalizingly close too :( I got stuff signed by him. He's Canada's best ever anyways.
The Great Gary Gerould Journalist! Now calls the Sacramento Kings games! 3000 & counting
RIP Stan Fox who died five years after this horrific crash.
Chip Ganassi: "I'm coming back here every year!" Press X to doubt.
I was at this race! Big sentimental value. Thank you for posting this!!
When I first watched this race i was rooting for the Mosler raptor and that huge ass engine , loved watching it dominate the Kudzu hawk WSC car early on.
Really like hearing the commentators talking during the commercial breaks and seeing the additional video as well. Very unique.
Start 21:46
Great job, Jacques Villeneuve deserved the win that day by driving calmly and methodically, coming back from 2 laps down, by overtaking the pace car before the green flag on the final restart, no wonder Scott Goodyear threw away his chance of winning the race, he should have come in and served his black flag stop and go penalty.
