Phantastic! In the 1980s, I got a Renault 16 'Mauvaises Routes' (220) which had been successful in managing a daring escape out of Ceaucescu's Romania by using field, wood and mountain paths over the Carpathians. It was a 1966 model, but with an implemented 1,6L 65hp R16TL motor and various interior modifications - good craftsmanship by a Romanian car mecanic;-))

Brings up memories.....we liked our Renault 16 back in the days when 75 HP on such a heavy car seemed like a powerful car

I grew up in a green metallic R16 in the mid-70s, fond memories. This example is a great colour combination, blue on red. My Romanian is very rusty, is this a Romanian barn find?

I bought a used Renault 16 in 1971 a year after we were married . Wonderful car ...spacious with front wheel drive. Had trouble with the ignition system later that no one seemed to be able to fix or we might still have it .

I remember we had a renault 16 tx back in mid 80's. It was our dad's first european car since most of our cars then are japanese brands. Renault 16tx was kinda odd looking car in the Philippines at that time but I could say that it is one of a kind at that time and was really a head turner and the suspensions are superb.
