Ok I made a big mistake. I got 4 signatures sewn together and have no idea how to do a cover. Do I start all over!
I tried this stitch, and carried the initial thread tail up through all the kettle stitches. It was easy to do and left only the final tail to deal with. Is there a reason why this isn't done?
Super helpful, thank you!
excellent explanation. Thanks!!
Great tutorial TFS 🩷
Ma non è finito ... Manca la copertina e il dorso
I am only watching this now, Very clear and concise directions.
cannt see it!
Thank you, Kathleen! Your demonstration was so clear - verbally and visually. I've tried coptic before but couldn't understand what the stitches were doing. Now I can see this after watching your video and hearing your explanations. Looking forward to trying this. Thanks again.
More tutorials please♥️
off camera too often
I appreciate your willingness to make such an informative video but most of the stitching was done off frame and I couldn’t really follow what you were saying.
Prático
Math explanation was confusing.
Thank you! I made one coptic stitch watercolor paper sketchbook with hard covers, but found that very intimidating! This method looks considerably easier and I just need to find a nice weight paper for the covers that I will probably glue together after binding for a bit of extra firmness, and I may even incorporate pockets on one or both inside covers. I'm thinking cardstock might be good.
I need to revamp these videos to include the things you are talking about! Originally, I put these tutorials online for my students during the pandemic--I am blown away by how many people use them and also like them. Thanks. I am so happy to share this with the outer world.
such a well-demonstrated and charming explanation. One that comes at the perfect time for me. thank you Kathleen 🐈⬛
Thank you so much for this video ❤

Wow! Great tutorial! You are an amazing teacher! Subscribed.
How very extraordinary is This! In your project 'Raices' one can feel the happy vibes! It is also so very inspiring! Thank you Sue Corr for having shared this video with me!
Wow, thank you!
you are so very welcome@@kathleenoconnell8219 !
This is absolutely wonderful. 😍
Thank you so much!
This was a great tutorial. I completed my very first book yay! I restarted twice as I confused myself by flipping. I then got a knot on a third of the way but managed to carefully maneuver it through and luckily the knot landed at the station point (I'm a bit precious with the waxed thread) This was so relaxing and I know I will become obsessed! 🙏
i second this emotion
I had to watch you twice and because of your patience and guidance, I found your teaching wonderful...I'm making Christmas books for my nieces who love to just jot things down..Thank you so much..
So disappointing that a lot of what you are doing is out of frame. Frustrating
Such easy explanation! thank you!
Well explained and demonstrated. Sliding the awl to make the holes - far better than my usual "stabby-stabby" technique. Thank you.
I love this! It's so helpful thank you :) Would you be able to share the GSM for the paper you used?
thanks! great tutorial❤
Love the stag handle on your awl!
wow...ive been looking for a clearer instruction...and boy...you are just so clear..that i was confident enough to do my book...I DID IT...thanks mucho

Hi Kathleen you were my teacher at OCAC. So good to play this video. Nice to see you. Really like this binding. Take care
Pam! Every semester I teach my students how to thread a needle the way that you taught me-pinching the thread. Hello and take care!
Great tutorial. Thanks!!
Kathleen, is this the same as Origata binding?
Please stay in the frame, very frustrating
Thank you for sharing all the detailed techniques! I've learned so much from your video. I've been doing the kettle stitch on my own (I don't even know what it actually calls) just to make both ends of Coptic stitch looks prettier, but never know if it's the right way to do or have I've been doing it all wrong. So thank you for the instruction🥰
Wow, a fascinating method
Great tutorial... the spine is amazing! Does this book open flat? If it does, it would be wonderful for pop-ups.
Seems like a good teaching video. Not being able to see what you were doing is not only very frustrating, but also, a lot of good teaching and information was lost on me.
Thanks for this! It is an easier way than the one I've been doing. I appreciate your clear instruction.🧡
Exceptionally clear and precise instructions. Thank you.
Wonderful!
