Great video. I'm looking at the JX3 hybrid considering a purchase. Initially I thought its allot more weight, however when you factor in your backpack filled with gear in addition to your saddle and rope bags you're not any lighter with the saddle. I too have been saddle hunting for about 6 years and have three saddles. I've not found the prefect saddle yet. Hoping the JX3 will check off that "bucket" on the saddle hunting list.

Idk what anyone says. If you hunt in a saddle it will cost you deer. This is coming from a 4 year saddle hunter.

By the JX3 top stick. You will like that better than a platform with the hybrid. It makes it where you can walk around the tree and you can extend your feet for more comfort.

Feel the same way I’ve had a Guidos Webb for 15 yrs now and it’s not worn out Heavier than a saddle but the comfortable is worth it I’m gonna get a jx3 when my Webb wears out

I have been using the hawks for years, the newer ones they are making now with the silent connection to keep them quite packing them to and from the field is a big improvement. I think it is much cheaper to loose 5 pounds (physically) than it is to spend hundreds more to save 5 pounds, that is just my opinion anyhow. I did buy a new chest rig this year, is is much better than I had hoped for 40 bucks. Saddle, again I am cheap and I made my own. Took me a couple of tries to get it right,. The gear ties are pretty dang nice as well. I left a couple at the bottom of a tree one year, went back a year later and yep, just like you may have guessed, they were not there hahahah. I have an older Mathews Switchback. hahahah, tools of the trade, Many years ago, I was quail hunting with my brother in law and he was holding his fancy shot gun up in the air, so he wasn't scratching hi gun. That larger platform is so much nicer, it is so much bigger, it's hard to get it into the woods though. New sub, keep up the fun videos. Dale

Looking at buying this. Ive got the cheap hawk platform and saddle right now. Would I need to upgrade to a bigger platform for this to work or would a smaller platform be ok??

It’s not new that’s for sure. Been around for 10+yrs in different variations. If you like shooting from a seated position there’s zero draw back in my eyes. For gun hunting it’s the cats azz!!! I’m not totally comfortable shooting sitting so with a bow it’s not ideal for me but I can’t imagine something more comfortable in a tree!!!

Great video! I was on the fence about spending $300 on a one stick it’s not like you can rent one out. This way I can try it to see if this climbing method is for me 👍🏻
