      @@OctopusH2O in terms of material, and what Bruce was actually doing. What Bruce’s martial art IS and not others whack interpretations of it, Tommy is the man. You can check out Bruce Lee’s fighting method book, also you can check out wrath of the dragon: the real fights of Bruce Lee by John Little. He’s the only person to ever be authorised by the Bruce Lee estate to look at Bruce’s writings. I have videos on my channel of him talking. Anything from John Little is pretty good stuff, very well researched. The problem with Bruce is there is a lot of outright lies and misinformation as well as disinformation about him out there and it can take a lot of time to sift through all the bullshit like this concepts mixing stuff together crap and it’s “whatever you want to be” don’t bother engaging with those people online. It’s just a waste of time that never leads anywhere. When you look at these other guys move you can tell they don’t have a clue what they are doing, but when you see Tommy move it’s clear he ain’t like the others. It’s because he actually trains like Bruce and follows the body mechanics and principles. You can also check out the channel the kung fu genius, he’s got 3 interviews with John on there which are pretty interesting. But to be clear, John isn’t a source for JKD as such. He’s not qualified, and seemed slightly bias towards wing chun, and keep in mind Alex, the host, is a wing chun guy, in one video is says JKD is “long range wing chun” lol when it’s nothing alike. The footwork, body mechanics are totally different. But it’s a good channel for real Bruce Lee information. I’ve had my own issues with Alex, I think he can come across as very arrogant, but the interviews with John are great, very informative. But keep in mind Alex doesn’t know what Tommy does, hasn’t spent the time learning JKD like Tommy has and also doesn’t seems to like him, Tommy seems to have a lot of haters, but it’s because he’s sick of the nonsense from frauds and other people talking nonsense about him. From what ive seen and heard from Tommy, it seems to me like he turned jkd into a style. He turned his interpretation into a 'gospel truth'... He says; this is what jkd should be like and nothing else. Sounds to me too ridged...

    • @axelstone3131
      @axelstone3131 27 дней назад

      @@BakkerSamuel no. The principles are the blueprint. The body mechanics, footwork, structure are what make JKD work. You take the most effective way of doing something instead of doing something because you “like it”. It’s about what efficient and direct. The progressive weapons chart helps with this. Most JKD guys don’t even know what the progressive weapons chart is when Bruce himself developed it to explain JKD’s approach to combat. I suggest you do further research. Go to Thomas Marx JKD channel and ask him. Tommy is his instructor.

    • @axelstone3131
      @axelstone3131 27 дней назад

      @@BakkerSamuel I would suggest looking more into how Bruce trained and what he actually did. Not his quotes. There is a big disparity between what he said and did and listening to what he said won’t help you understand what JKD is. JKD is “stopping the enemy at the gates” as Bruce said. The highest level of JKD is being able to preemptively stop a fight from even happening to begin with. At no point did Bruce Lee say “do whatever you want and slap the name Jkd on it and call it your own Jkd” Jkd has specific principles. It’s its own thing. Fencing footwork is a large component of what makes Jkd as effective as it is.

    • @BakkerSamuel
      @BakkerSamuel 27 дней назад

      @@axelstone3131Well I dont agree completely.... the problem I see with Carruthers and his students, is that they all seem to use to same techniques. They go blind on only practising the same jab and sidekick. Carruthers and his students look like clones of eachother... Thats what I mean that JKD has become a style, the people that practise it all look the same, they punch and kick the same... You talk about using the most effective way of doing something. But this is highly dependent on a persons body, ability, and the situation he is in. What is effective for you might not be effective for someone else in a certain situation. And you cannot express yourself in a free and complete way if you only know a finger jab and a knee/groin kick. Simplicity does not mean you know and use only one finger jab and one side kick. Simplicity means you are able to use that which is necesarry in a certain situation. Bruce Lee trained his body to be able to use whatever movement, punch, kick, parry, etc. he wanted. And Im sorry but Thomas Marx is not really skilled himself... Im sorry but as a martial artist I cant take him serious... For example, he completely lacks any basic footwork....

    • @BakkerSamuel
      @BakkerSamuel 27 дней назад

      @@axelstone3131Well yeah, thats just what many other martial arts try to do, to prevent a fight... Jkd was developed by Bruce to fit his own physique and ability. Through his study and background HE came to fencing and using those elements. Those are his own personal findings. Doesnt mean you should do exactly the same... The way Bruce Lee trained and how he expressed his JKD was purely and uniquely his own way and he kept changing and changing his ideas all the time. It just goes against Bruce his approach if we all try to look the same as Bruce and take his methods as a definite and finished structure for all people.

    • @axelstone3131
      @axelstone3131 27 дней назад

      @@BakkerSamuel you’ve obviously got your own opinion. You have the same argument all the other naysayers have. Nothing I haven’t heard before, I’m not going to debate you on this. You guys seem to have this idea you can blend anything you want because you “like it” and call it JKD. Bruce was actually pretty specific about what he was doing and what he was training. There’s really no debate to be had, but here we are 50 odd years later with hundreds of different interpretations of things Bruce himself was pretty clear about. It’s seems to me people don’t want to actually look at how the founder trained, why he trained those things and what his approach to self protection was. You basically want to want to train a martial art but call it something else. It’s like someone training karate and calling it judo lol. It’s ridiculous. You don’t even want to follow the principles of the founders martial art. MMA is popular now, people have this idea that it’s all about blending styles. Bruce was doing thousands of finger jabs a week by the 70’s, even John Little the only authorised Bruce Lee historian by the estate says this, he’s seen the training diaries. Jesse Glover Bruce’s first student also said Bruce would go for your eyes if he felt his life was in danger. It works, it’s extremely effective and no, it’s not all he trained. You’ll see what you want to see at the end of the day, I skimmed your message. You aren’t saying anything I haven’t before. If you wanna train hundreds of techniques and hundreds of styles you do that. But when the shit hits the fan you will only be able to use what you’ve trained the most and you more than likely won’t even have time to execute that before you aren’t training by taking into account reaction lag time or closing the gap quick enough. You guys all have this odd interpretation of JKD. Tommy follows Bruce’s principles, he literally trains the way Bruce did, that’s why he’s the only person to ever even faint attributes and movement like Bruce. Instead of debating your further, you will either understand by watching this clip or you won’t but I’m not really interested in having this back and forth with you that will lead nowhere. Wrong again, Bruce Lee didn’t start with this ability to move the way he did or do any of the things he did. He trained a specific way to acquire these attributes, new flash, you can also get these attributes if you follow his method, but you won’t, and others won’t, because you have this idea you can’t do something you’ve never even trained and are completely unwilling to train how Bruce did. Yeh you might not ever have his speed or power, but it’s literally like saying “I can never ride a horse” without getting on a horse to begin with. It’s illogical what you are saying. You don’t underhand that Bruce went beyond style but simply looking at how people moved and how can he use superior body mechanics to neutralise that movement, that’s it. That’s literally JKD. The difference is Bruce threw away things that were overly complicated and weren’t direct enough. You have a fundamental misinterpretation of what Bruce was doing and saying and aren’t saying anything I’ve not heard before. I also suggest you look up the XYZ letter Bruce wrote to Jerry Poteey about NOT mixing what Bruce taught him with karate. You have some major holes in your understanding. I suggest you watch this, since Jesse knew Bruce probably better than most I would take his opinion over someone like you who never knew Bruce to begin with. ruclips.net/video/czFHzwDLnzo/видео.htmlsi=HzEQkXVhR0neCxbm

    Axel when were you born ? if BL was a real Martial Artist and had schools which he had not .why would he have few patato heads like inosanto who was in fact student of ed parker like richard bustillo. why only few bums ? if BL was a real Martial Artist and teacher where was his hundreds of schools in hong kong and in usa ? where was his thousands of students ? BL had none of that and why ? Because I was there and in Hong Kong and he was not a real teacher and had no certification and authority to teach anyone . he was in hostess clubs drinking and sniffin coke.. he was found dead in apartment a mile away from his family home he rented and paid for by li tang mei aka betty ting pei and I remember that day very well I dont know who is the john little and matthew fatso but I eally wanna catch this john little and fatso matthew these two BL story con artists. im in korea now and i ll be in Hong Kong in September... look what kinda con artist john little saying . he says why would a world champion train with BL if he was not real . dumb ass BL was the one approached them just appearing in martial art torunaments as a celebrity guest and asking to them to act in movies together , look at what he says bl was deadly and didnt wanna kill aynobody hahahaahahaha hahahahahaaha i cant belive this jerk...BL was a soft like a gay doing his cha cha dance and we used to watch him god almighty these people are nuts ...

      The only potato head here is you. You now nothing about Bruce Lee. Bruce Lee had 3 schools and hated teaching. If you knew anything about the man you’d know this but you don’t. Teaching wasn’t his goal. It was a side job to make extra cash. He made movies for a year and a half from 1971 to 1973 and only started taking cocaine from that point. Stop making him out to have been a drug user his whole life. He wasn’t, and stop trying to walk over someone who accomplished more than you ever will. You’re a nobody and you talk like an idiot. sure buddy. Nobody makes any money from Bruce Lee. There is no money to be made by being associated with Bruce Lee. Are you dumb? You think anyone ever got rich saying these things? 🤦‍♂️ most people under 25 today don’t even know who Bruce Lee is. People like you included thinking he was just an “actor” when he only made movies for a year and a half from 1971 to 1973. Did you even know that? Probably not. All this information comes directly from Bruce Lee’s own students including Jesse Glover who you probably have no idea even is.

    Respect to John Little! Someone had to step up and defend Bruce during today’s fad people are trying to establish that he was just an actor and couldn’t actually fight. When Bruce was alive, people either stayed quiet or got their mouth shut by Bruce one on one. Now that Bruce is gone, suddenly everyone seems to be better than him… However, you can see that a lot of the people who knew Bruce personally and are still around today, give him the due respect. Those people include Dan Inosanto, Benny The Jet Urquides, James De Mile, Kareem Abdul Jabbar, all of his students and many others.
