    • @MascaratumBLF
      @MascaratumBLF 2 месяца назад

      Well, it is hard to explain without doing it, but I will try! I would suggest checking the diagram you find here: www.mtnelectronics.com/index.php?route=information/information&information_id=17 If you have a REVERSE CLICKY SWITCH: - Click for ON (starts "ramping" from the lowest output up to max and down again, if you don't tap); - Click for OFF - While ON: * tap the switch to stop the "ramping"; tap again, to resume "ramping" (up to max output and then down to lowest output); double tap to invert the "ramping" direction * after turning ON, 2 quick taps go to Moon (lowest output) (1 tap, starts "ramping") * from anywhere, 3 taps to go to Turbo * from anywhere, 4 taps to enter strobes (single tap to change the strobe) and battery check (10 blinks is full, less blinks mean the battery is not full). If you have a FORWARD CLICKY SWITCH (as in "momentary ON"), the explanation is a bit more dense, since the switch and the interface differ a little bit. The principle is almost the same, except that for turning ON the flashlight and to lock a certain output, it will be different. Let me know if this helps in some way. This is an older video, so I may need to do an updated one :x

    It was painful watching you struggle with the twisty control. I've come from using a Jetstream Jet-U twisty top for many years. It is the same length as the Lumintop EDC15 but less than half the weight and about half the circumference (thickness) with an aaa battery. I became very comfortable with the twisty. I've owned the Lumintop EDC15 for a few months now and haven't had any issues with the control. I believe that with twisty top lights, timing is important. You need to pace yourself, pause slightly, between light intensity modes. if you change modes very quickly with the EDC15 you'll probably end up in strobe mode. After a few times it becomes natural. I think that if you used only the EDC15 for a while, control would become less frustrating for you.

    • @MascaratumBLF
      @MascaratumBLF 3 месяца назад

      @ARobbieC, thanks for your comment. Sorry for making it painful to watch, but that was, and still is a struggle with this light! I am not sure if it is this sample, but I still have some struggles to make it turn on and change modes correctly. I have several olther twisty lights (Sofirn, Nitefox, Lumintop, etc) and with none I have troubles controlling it. Before doing the review, I tested it to see if the problem was mine or not. And although I admit I may not be the most proficient "twister" I guess it was not just on me. But, to each, its' own and I am glad you didn't have issues with yours☺

    • @MascaratumBLF
      @MascaratumBLF Год назад

      You would need some kind of spacer (brass, copper or aluminium), to put between the quad MCPCB and the pill. I don't have a notion of the measurements (diameter/height) of that, though. On BudgetLightForum, member "kiriba-ru" sells some spacers, you can check that in the thread: budgetlightforum.com/t/low-cost-copper-pills-spacers-optics-drop-ins-updated-23-10-2022/38581/1 In the USA, I am not sure if MTN Electrincs sells those spacers, but you can check in the store, as well: www.mtnelectronics.com/ Besides the spacer, you can also check the optic and MCPCB/LEDs there or in www.kaidomain.com (or other online sellers). Check this mod: budgetlightforum.com/t/what-did-you-mod-today/37376/10458 I hope the it helps! 👍

    I like these for small survival kits where space is a concern. 1 The flashlight is pretty small for AA size 2. I can pop in a primary lithium and dont have to worry about it for 10+ years going flat in storage with no use 3. In pitch dark even 20 lumens is a godsend and you will have that for 16 hours (lithium primary has ca 2300mah, same as eneloop) having more light is naturally better (120lm for 2,5h in high) but even mid mode 20 lm is usable light for a long time. 4. No button is one less part that can fail and i dont have to worry about lockout,- if its off, its off - no accidental button activation in the pack if were to forget lockout before packing it away like with switch lights. 5. i can get these from ali for app. 15-16 bucks, cheap but still a lumintop quality light. Of cause its not perfect, twist activation and UI is a bit awkward , doesnt throw very far (but I like the floody beam) and i would prefer a warmer tint. but for the intended role and what you get for the price its good. These are an upgrade from CMG infinity AA lighs (discontinued) in my small kits - which I still have and use (they do work well even after 20y... but were a bit underpowered, haha :)) We`ll see if these last as long... As an EDC keychain carry which is used daily I`d prefer something else though. Button operated, rechargable internal akkus or shorter runtimes dont concern me as much there. there is plenty of options in this category avaliable nowadays but for survival/emergency kit small lights with long runtime and replaceable battery - the pickings are much slimmer.

    It's probably not the best light, but for the price it's handy to keep in the car and versatile to say the least. I bought six and gave them to wife sons and daughters. It's great as a power bank just to get you out of trouble but don't fully charge your phone as it could damage it, disconnect around 90% and you should be fine.

      @nighthawkflyer Thanks for your comment! I on the one side I do agree with you that 10 clicks for lock may be too much, one can still lock the light physically by slightly twisting the head or the tail, preventing it from turning ON. I also state and agree that the UI is not perfect and is not for everyone, specially if the person wants a simple UI. But, still, the UI on this light is versatile and allows different configurations, which is something we don't get from many major brands. 🔦

This torch takes both the regular sized 21700 batteries and the slightly longer ones which not all torches can. It's also very compact and built like a tank. For those reasons and more, there are plenty of people who use this torch as their EDC light.

      @@mrwan7010 it's a nice little light. Just annoyed with the UI. It's a versatile light. You can attach a tail magnet and the clip can be attached to your cap. My only problem is it needs extra attention when stored. 4 clicks is momentary and will continue to burst turbo as long as the switch is pressed. Dangerous to be left inside a bag since it only takes seconds for it to punch a hole through dark-colored fabric. 🙂🙂🙂

      @NoMercyInc Thanks for that information about the LED. This was the first time I saw one of these, hence my lack of knowledge about it. The Marauder Mini is a different flashlight, more complete and more complex, and surely can be used for different purposes. The Javelot Mini serves the single purpose of a "small" pocket thrower, although underpowered due to the 18500 cell. An 18650 or a 21700 in this format would be better in my opinion. Still, the price of the Marauder Mini and the Javelot Mini can weigh in the decision of buying one or the other, which is why this one still has a place in the market, despite the cons.

    does it remember the brightness?

    • @MascaratumBLF
      @MascaratumBLF Год назад

      I cannot confirm it right away as I don't have the flashlights, but this is what I wrote in my review on BLF (budgetlightforum.com/node/77842): "LEDs always turn ON on max output: it would be nice if they could be turned ON in different levels, which could be memorized" and " the front and side LEDs always start on their max power, independent of the last used level." So, I guess it alwways start at a pre-defined level, not the last used one ! I hope it helps ;)

    Is it ok with 1.5volt 1000 mah li lon AA batteries? Li lon battery

    • @MascaratumBLF
      @MascaratumBLF Год назад

      I believe that it can work since it is a 1.5V Lithium battery (not Li-Ion). But 3.7V Li-Ion batteries will probably damage the driver and/or LED.

    Does this has a momentary on tail switch?

    • @MascaratumBLF
      @MascaratumBLF Год назад

      The stock flashlight has a reverse clicky switch but if you want you can install a forward clicky switch that will allow you to have momentary ON . You can use the same tail PCB+spring, but you need to unsolder the reverse switch to use the forward switch. Also, normally these forward switches are taller and larger than the reverse so you need to "trim" the corners to make it fit. I hope it helps in some way. If I can I will make a video showing what needs to be done, but only in the next week!

      Following the specifications by manufacturer, it doesn't accept 14500 Li-Ion batteries. I didn't try it on the flashlight, only AA alkaline and Ni-MH batteries. Meanwhile I've modded the flashlight and I cannot test it with the 14500 cells.

    Are there any tail switch upgrades for this? I need a replacement and not sure which one to get.

    • @MascaratumBLF
      @MascaratumBLF Год назад

      Sorry, do you mean a switch replacement? If so, maybe you can contact directly OTR via the chat on AliExpress. Normally they reply to customers there. If you mean something different like a different switch, then you need to chose what you want and try to implement it. Currently I have a reverse clicky switch, but it can also take forward clicky switches like those bought at Convoy Store (AliExpess).

    • @MascaratumBLF
      @MascaratumBLF Год назад

      I can try that within some weeks, no problem. My point here was to compare it with some stock and some modified small EDC flashlights using multiple LEDs. Most of my lights have optics (single of multiple) but I can pick some that have reflectors and make the comparison, either they are stock or modded flashlights.

    Brother, your triple sp10pro, you took the mcpcb from fwaa? Did you swap driver as well or stock sp10 driver?

    • @MascaratumBLF
      @MascaratumBLF Год назад

      Hey there! Yup, the SP10 Pro has a FWAA MCPCB, but with some "trim" to fit in the head, as the diameter of the MCPCB is bigger than the inner diameter of the SP10 Pro head. The TIR is also from the FWAA. As for the driver, it is the stock driver from the SP10 Pro, that takes AA and Li-Ion 14500s. You can see the mod in this thread on BLF: budgetlightforum.com/comment/1865958#comment-1865958 I hope it helped ;)

    The zero air runtime chart shows that the flashlight held 600 lumens. I don't know what to think about that. I was thinking about getting the titanium model but I can't find any info.

    • @MascaratumBLF
      @MascaratumBLF 2 года назад

      I can't measure the lumens it holds after that 1st minute, but I can tell and it can be seen in the video that it drops a lot within that first minute and that it gets very hot. It you are going for the Ti version, think abour the TiCu version, where the Copper in the head may help to dissipate the heat better. I don't have any of the other editions, on Ti or Cu.

    Too big for a keychain? I would like to buy one as a gift for a friend - who is NOT into flashlights, knives, anything.... I cannot decide if he will think it is too bulky or not - for a keychain? (Otherwise, he simply won't carry it.)

    • @MascaratumBLF

      I would say so, it is quite big for keychain! I would suggest the Rovyvon Aurora (several lights) or the Rovyvon A23 (or similar) series. Those are smaller than this, better for a keychain use ;)
