Appreciate the detailed breakdown! I need some advice: My OKX wallet holds some USDT, and I have the seed phrase. (alarm fetch churn bridge exercise tape speak race clerk couch crater letter). What's the best way to send them to Binance?
I wish they wld of had more ways to help me with my Ais when I was Diagnosed when I was 16 yrs old in 1970. I was at a 23 degree & had exercises but the Dr's didn't know that much about it. When I was Married & had my second Daughter in 1982 my curve went up to 50 degrees & was in terrible pain, they told me my Pregnancy caused the Curve to progress. I wund up having a Harrington rod done in my Thoracic Spine 1984 w a correction to 25 degrees, I did very well until I was 50 yrs old, started having bad pain again. Then I went thru a lamenectomy in 2008, I had alot of different things with my back, Degenerative disk disease in my low back, disk issues causing nerve pain. They put me thru shots which made me worse, after all the different shots I stopped it. I had Stomach Cancer in 2012 & had 6 mnths of Strong Chemo & Bone Marrow tests, it was rough to go thru i lost 70 lbs & was very ill. In 2016 I had Pneumonia w Sepsis & was in Hospital & Rehab for 6 wks & Kidney Dialysis for 6 wks also, the Antibiotic they had me on was to strong for me & that shut down both kidneys but Thank God they both came back. My back during all this continued to get worse w alot of pain & trouble walking. I had Surgery on my neck on C5,C6 & C7 w a Fusion. Now my Harrington Rod is not holding the Correction anymore & I have gone up to a 41 degrees in my Thoracic Spine & my low back is at 36 degrees. Last yr in Oct 2023 i had Surgery on low back, L3 & L4 for Disk issues. I suffer from nerve pain in both legs & both my feet. I will be 70 in April of 2025 & don't want to go thru a Revision Surgery to much at my age, the Surgeon that did my Surgery last yr said it wld be worse than my Harrington Rod Surgery in 1984. So I have Chronic pain for yrs now & live on Percocets, muscle relaxer, 1800 mg of Gabapentin & other meds. I walk with a cane when I am able to go out usually the Dr's only. I am thankful I have what I have & when God is ready for me I'll be ready. Thank you for listening to me. ⚘️
Guadalupe, you are so brave🎉 I wish you the best in your life and a good health, I listen to you from France😊
Some of the Facebook groups mentioned by Dr. Brooks are instrumental in educating parents about available options for scoliosis surgery. They also provide great emotional support for parents who are able to find others going through similar situations. This emotional support cannot be found in a surgeons office. The SSS website and RUclips videos are shared in the Canadian group consistently as this organization does the best at providing current and accurate information. No profits are attained by any of those involved in its operation which cannot be said for all FB scoliosis groups. I’d be cautious of any online group linked to specific surgeons or doctors who offer any scoliosis related assessment, therapy, referrals or treatments. It’s not always easy to decipher which ones have ulterior motives.
one thing I should recommend as someone who survived to adulthood with scoliosis is do everything you can before you get surgery. exercising, bracing, stretching, not doing stuff that aggravates growth in your curve. put everyday in and work extremely hard to reverse your curve before you go to surgery. I had two buddies of mine, one with a 67 degree curve who had surgery and one with an 81 degree curve who didn't. the one with a 67 degree curve was a powerlifter and gym rat and he had to quit these sports im really not kidding. he has chronic pain, can't sit in one chair for 20 minutes before having pain, and even had to be put on suicide watch for a little while and I dont blame him. the other one played soccer and golf and he put in the work. he exercised everyday, put his brace on literally every single hour of the day besides working out and showering. by the time he was 16 he jumped from 81 to 29. he still has the tiny curve but is doing very well. a lot of surgeons say get surgery even when your 40 degrees which is just bullshit, its very much reversible and you can see it in their language: "oh there's not a whole lot you can do but watch and wait, if you ever change your mind-" that kind of BS. so please dont meet with doctors who immediately recommend it. im not saying fusion is the worst thing in the world, you still can do great things with surgery but please exhaust every other method before you do this shit.
The curve in my back is 85 degrees... as a 31 year old male
Sorry I meant to say that they implanted
13 yr old boy having thoracolumbar right convex 35 degree, what could be the best way to deal with this?
My son has this disease. 85 degree extension. He's 31 years old. Can he get surgery?
My mom was diagnosed with it but I don’t have it according to this. Want to start rebounding because I have tiny bones and want to strengthen them before I get any older. You are supposed to check with your doctor before starting rebounding if you have back pain so I guess I will.
I felt sad for my sister she's working as a helper . And her boss as her to clean their rooms ,under the bed she can't use mop instead she need to carry the king mattress by herself while her boss watching her😢. And now she felt much pain.
Hello I had a VBT done around 2013 and ended up having to do spinal fusion 2023 , I haven’t had any issues just mobility is limited now. Went to Randy’s children’s hospital in San Diego.
Hello Glad to know there are no issues .would you mind if I can connect to you on phone . Looking for some details on this … 16 year old have 57 degrees scoliosis looking for VBT vs Fusion . Wanted to better understand the reason you had fusion after 10 years if you could provide more insights
I wish I was born a few decades later as I had a spinal fusion aged 11 in the 70’s and I’ve got no movement whatsoever and ridged. I also went onto have a badly tethered spinal cord and they didn’t diagnose me with this and Spina Bifida until I was in my 30’s. This is fantastic to hear tho for this generation 🙏🏼
I'm sad it seems the traditional route will be the only thing I can do
My son got his op at the start of lock down thanks to the doctors in Edinburgh he's great but if the doctors listen to Nicola sturgeon my son wouldn't be waking as she stopped all surgery but the surgeon said he was going to operate as john was at 105 curvage and had scillyosis aswell he struggle getting in and out of his car but its sad to see him like this but we're very grateful to our Edinburgh Doctors
0:38 This disturbs me about these doctors so much. He just told her to "watch and wait dOnt wOrRy" which is the most bullshit advice ever as so many scoliosis cases get worse. As SOON as you notice a curvature, be it 10, 20 or 30 degree curves physio needs to be done asap to at least try to stop it. (See Scroth or Clear method) Then a few years later she goes back to the surgeon coz her curve's gotten a lot worse and he banks big bucks for performing the surgery. 😒 Just thought I'd raise some awareness as I regret my surgery. 💔
If anyone here has scoliosis please please do physio like the Scroth method if mild or Clear method if severe FIRST. If not, consider surgeries like VBT and apifix which PRESERVE flexibility, never ever get a fusion unless you've tried EVERYTHING else. Never just "watch and wait" either. I was 13 when I got the surgery and now 10 years later my spine is degenerating above and below the fusion, aka adjacent segment disease I was not told about. I feel robbed. Your spine is built for MOVEMENT not to be fused. Unlike other procedures scoliosis fusions are currently NOT REVERSIBLE. Those surgeons will keep fusing until theyre no longer allowed to. The traditional old way is not always the best way for everyone.
Very helpful for my scoliosis surgery that I had 22 days back. Thankyou so much
I am a candidate for major spinal fusion. May I ask about the nature of your pre-surgery condition, the surgery itseld, and how your recovery has been thus far?
Is there a way to fix this because I’m not getting surgery. Is there a way I can reverse it since my scoliosis isn’t even that bad but I need to prevent or cure it without surgery
The bra wouldn’t stay up. Then it all made sense.
This is actually horrible to wear maybe it will help but its hell
Bro same
I have some of these X-rays didn’t super anything tho so idk
I hope there is someone or charity would help me to afford this kind of surgery ,.im having a severe dextrocoliosis for 14 yrs.. And i can't afford the cost of surgery ..and the high quality of operation..
Music so loud could barely hear her voice.
I'm very happy for these girls. I had the same great results after fusion for many years. Fast forward now it's 29 years later and the consequences of fusion are becoming more and more apparent and painfull. I wish more research was done into the long term effects of fusion. Initial correction comes with long term costs.
Hello Angela would you mind sharing more points on the long term effects . I am researching details for some one who is 16 years young
I was shocked toy spine on x-ray i always thought i hurt for working to hard 😢
Great thought!!!
This video is so relatable and helped me realize that I have scoliosis ❤❤
I'm just 16 and yesterday's I got to know abt my scoliosis 🤧 Actually I was having x-ray of my hand (my hand x-ray report was all ok)🤧but in that x-ray part i can completely see my back bone and there my doctor said that you should sleep without pillow 🤧🤧😭 on a flat matress 😭😭 damn I'm scared well it's not noticably until and unless anyone stares at my stomach for a moment though rn I'm not taking it seriously but in future idk what will happen 😭😭😭
Hi there, I’m a female with scheuermann’s that apparently is not severe enough for surgery, but I am in daily pain. Interestingly (as an aside) I went to a chiropractor recently (actually in relation to my hip not the kyphosis) and he said (and he’s not the first - I have heard this MANY times) that the scheuermann’s shouldn’t be giving me any pain. And he didn’t seem to be saying this in relation to how it presents for me. He was saying this as a general rule! Because when he said that I said I’m in a scheuermann’s group and everyone’s in pain and he responded that he has friends with scheuermann’s and they don’t have any pain 🤔… …So it got me thinking (because I did meet a guy with a worse curve than me who said he doesn’t have any pain) and it makes me wonder about physiological gender differences. One thing I have noticed (but I cannot sustain for long because it restricts my breathing) is that if I basically strap or tape up my boobs then my back and neck are less painful. I am a pretty average size (all over, including chest) so I can’t imagine boobs any bigger than mine. But also I’m 49 so I suspect the loss of collagen and muscle loss during perimenopause would also be playing a part. Besides that, women have less muscle mass ESPECIALLY in the upper body. For this reason I think there should be considerations made for this when considering quality of life. I’m really not convinced that the size of the curve is necessarily what governs pain. But then I don’t think medical professionals care that much about pain as it seems to only be certain conditions that are taken seriously and level of pain (and thus quality of life) don’t seem to be a big factor influencing this. (I’m from UK by the way so I am speaking from my experience with our broken system)
I have been suffering from Schurman's for a long time, 8 years, which has stopped my life because of the pain when moving my hands. I can treat it by swimming and muscle strengthening exercises. By the way, I am 23 years old.I wish you a speedy recovery, God willing.
I’m finding it hard finding a specialist for VBT for my son who is 22. We are based in Philadelphia pa.
How painful was it? How long was the pain?
I have got my surgery for this now i can do it this exercise please tell me
I'm a Nigerian. I will love to go for my scoliosis surgery but no money. But please if you help me. I will be glad.😢😢😢😢
Thank you for sharing your testimony.
Yep, very primitive, same rods and same technology for the last 100 years ! They couldn't come with some new shape rods, new material, new thechnik to avoid fussion in adults. Shame on the today scoliosis doctors !!!!
Great educational video! May I ask whether I can use it in my primary school as an educational material?
People with scoliosis: Finally, a worthy opponent. Our battle will be legendary!
Thank you
can this be used for scheuermanns kyphosis?
I really have a lot of compassion for people with scoliosis as I have it myself and do to bc childrens in Vancouver!
For the record, i had 5 mi. To cram 30 years of life onto it
Damn i was anxious and nervous on this
it would be best if you can post a study on flexibility and motion between VBT and PSF when it involves the lumbar getting fused or tethered to at least L2/L3 and below. Because as it stands right now, there is barely any benefit to the motion being preserved under the VBT procedure compared to PSF for thoracic only curves with the study conducted in this webinar. The risks of undergoing VBT like reoperation at a later date with the added complications and the curve not being corrected as well is not worth it just to benefit from the unsubstantial amount of extra motion and flexibility. The only benefit I can think of is the theory that the VBT would preserve the vertebral segments both below and above the instrumented area from wearing the discs out better than the fusion can in the long run. A study worth noting for your channel someday. Another study comparing the discomfort and back pain levels of VBT to PSF for both a young to middle age adult cohort would be great as well tackling the complications that arise with VBT in a 10-20 yr follow up, like just how many patients did preserve their corrections and/or transitioned to fusion.
This webinar was extremely informative. As a family, we are heading for our 1 year follow-up this morning. Learning more about VBT and PSF has allowed us to offer our friends and colleagues who are going through this with their own children another resource to calm nerves in such a time sensitive procedure. What an amazing ensemble of superheroes in the field which includes patients who shared their stories. Thank you. Thank you and more thank yous.
👍
Well damn I have all 7…guess I’m screwed 😂
Me too. I have all 7 it sucks
How did you got scoliosis I mean from your birth??
@Daily_dose_ofMemes I broke my arm and my rib cage, so I have scoliosis now
@nyinechan277 oh so yours is by accident and I don't think so it effects a normal healthy person The main reason of scoliosis is genetic problems from the birth thanks God I am a healthy person always pray to Allah ❤
@Daily_dose_ofMemes It affects health problems and leads it can lead to death
Can people get the surgery at any age ?
Yes Muscles adjusting to spinal alignment.. WHAT ABOUT THE LIGAMENTS? Please talk about the ligaments! Are those release in surgery?
