the to-do list is too massive
overwhelming
ever accumulating
snowballing
i just can't bring myself
to-do anything
the anti-depressant/anti-anxiety pill
they put me on
made half my hair fall out in my hand
one sunday while singing in church
can't turn to a doctor
can't turn to a pill
i have been dreading this time
darkness brings cold
cold brings darkness
the clouds hang so thick
and so low
i can't even stand up straight
if i did that
my head would be up in the clouds
if i did that
maybe i could find the sun
and be able to tell what time of day it is
i finally have the sense to walk out onto our porch
into the cold mountain air
it is so quiet
i can hear a few fat rain drops fa...
