Добавлен 13 сен 2020
Hello I am Samuels Locos and welcome to my channel, I am a model and mainline railway enthusiast posting model and real trains for you to watch, my videos will come out every Saturday, Tuesday and Thursday, hope you enjoy
Day at the Great Central Railway 1/2/25
Today I went to the Great Central Railway where all three GWR guest locomotives from the Winter Steam Gala were running, they were:
6880 Betton Grange
GWR 3850
GWR 6695
I got some good shots of each loco running around and powering through the countryside, and even saw some amazing departures by 6880 and a double header with 6695 + 3850.
I also saw some mainline action as well with locos like 66199 and 37601, enjoy.

Class 66 ews cool
The EWS livery is cool
Do you make videos with the South Wales train Spotter?
Depending on which one you mean as there are different accounts, do you have a name
Great running session.. Drew
Thank you very much
Including a derailment, lol. The goods shed is always separate from the engine shed, they are never next to each other. The telegraph poles ought to be on the other side, beside the main running line. Otherwise, how is the Signalman going to cross the track safely without tripping over one of the wires? Ever tried running a steamy with only two coaches? That would fit the length of the platform a lot better. By that I mean one corridor coach and one brake coach, like Thomas with Annie and Clarabel.
Everything has not been completed yet, still making, building and adjusting my layout and hopefully that will please you with what I have created
Top gala mate 👍
Thanks Josh
Great running session. Did not know you had a 14XX. I have one which I run up and down my layout with an autocoach. And yes, it's a Hornby one.
I have had it for over a year now and has proved to be a useful engine, mine is a Airfix model and runs really well
This Railroad loco has quite a fetching livery which makes it a worthwhile addition to the fleet! When making these videos, I recommend you to position yourself behind the camera so it picks up your voice better! Remember, the further away you move from the camera, the less well your audience will hear you! Thanks for reviewing this loco.
Hi Sam. Great looking loco. Runs very nicely. Thank you for your running session. Thanks for sharing. Thumbs up thumped 👍 ....Pete....
Great footage, especially the triple Growlers upstairs!
Thank you, it was an incredible day
Yes, it was a fantastic day, hopefully i can do more heritage railways in 2025
Hi
👋
She's a wonderful loco. I actually know someone called Margaret Rose.
Indeed, a fantastic loco when she is in her element
I hope you will have a Manor engine on your railway sometime. Gives me something different to request, because I don't want to wear Thomas out. I don't mind which number and name the Manor has, she can be a scrapped or preserved engine and she can be green or black. I prefer Brunswick Green. Show me a GWR Manor hard at work, and I'll show you how much I truly love her. Do you have something like the 108 DMU? I'd like to see him running.
I Manor would certainly be nice to have on my railway, I don't have a class 108 DMU or any DMU yet
Nice captures
Thanks
Nice shot!
Great layout. I don't have the space for a layout like yours, I have two make do with running locos up and down a section of track with a run round loop at one end on my bedroom floor. I have two new locos that I will be running at the end of Jan beginning of Feb.
I see, not everyone has space for a model railway, what locos do you have
@samuelslocos I did a couple of posts here on RUclips for @MistaOlivuh showing him my collection of model railway locomotives last year
I did a few posts last year for a RUclipsr who wanted to know what locomotives I had. I will be doing another model railway locomotives collection update video tomorrow afternoon and I am planning a 2 part running session video for the end of Jan beginning of Feb.
@@christopherbellamy639 Nice, I shall tune into the video
Let's hope for some smoother operations. I like the look of your relayed railway. Happy steaming.
Indeed, hopefully I can run longer trains without any derailments, especially with the longer wagon trains
Looking good, like the way you have created different routes and branches. ...Drew
Thank you, I was quite pleased with what I have created
Give me my coach back ‼️
When would you like me to return it to you
While I do like the Mk. 3 coaches, I like the Mk. 1 coaches more. I know I'm against stinky diesels, but at one time, the Virgin Mk. 3 coaches were not just part of a HST formation. A Class 47 with matching livery would haul them sometimes, if I remember right.
Your correct, 47 hauled trains would consist of MK3s then the job was handed over to 90s and 91s with the MK4s
Enjoyed the review, great locomotive, I like the streamlined version. but the rebuilt ones are growing on me. They were built for the main lines to the southwest of the Southern Railway (Later Southern Region of BR), famously the Bournemouth Belle. The Light Pacific (Battle of Britain and West Country Classes) locomotives were built to permit use on a wider variety of routes, including the south-west of England and the Kent coast. They were a mixed-traffic design, being equally adept at hauling passenger and freight trains, e.g. the post WW2 Devon Belle ....Drew
Thank you for the information
I was gonna go there today
Nice, Tamworth is a great trainspotting location
I think I might have seen you on the railcam lol 😂
You may have done so
Better than driving a stinky diesel, wouldn't you agree?
I would certainly rather a steam locomotive than a diesel locomotive, this was an incredible experience
I wonder what's happening with these drags. 465915 and 465920 were already dragged. I wonder if any more will be dragged.
I think more will be taken down to Ely for storage
@@samuelslocos They were already stored at Worksop, so I wonder why they are going to Ely? 465912 was repaired there a while ago so idk.
@@SolomonClarkeTrains-nw1sf Maybe to create space at Workshop possibly
@@samuelslocos Probably.
@@samuelslocos No more have been taken down to Ely yet
Great video Sam 👍
Thank you
Good to see some steamies. You would have done a lot better to capture heritage railway Santa Specials, no main line action, which has by now wound down for routine maintenance to be carried out. Diesels hardly ever run in Wintertime, so those 66s should have been in bed. Next time you create a compilation like this, whittle it down to a few steam engine highlights, 5 minutes long. It shouldn't last nearly half an hour.
I understand, that's a good idea, speaking of heritage lines on Friday I will be doing a driver experience at the NVR.
You're very close, when BR produced the Air-con mk2 coaches they were going to class them as mk3 coaches but due to the fact they were still based on the mk2 design they were sub classed as a continuation of mk2. Mk3/4/5 being of completely different designs.
Thanks for the info
Hi Samuel. You migh have got the coaches wrong, I would probably have done the same. But it doesn't detract from how nice they are. Thank you for the review. Have a great new year 🍾🍾 Thumbs up thumped 👍 .... Pete....
I was told these were MK3s at the time of filming but didn't realise that they were MK2s until after I made and posted the video, you have a fantastic new year too
Is that Biffa class 66 owned by them?
It is owned by GBRf but sponsored by Biffa
@ thanks
These are in fact MK2 Coaches, more specfically mk2f's. They are not related to mk3s in anyway.
Are they now, obviously the person that my friend bought them from thought they were MK3s and not MK2s, thanks for the info
Very efficient with loads of containers onboard
A lot of deliveries to made 😂
cool!
Thanks, first one I have seen with a name plate I think
Nice catch!
Thank you
😎
I need Percy and Toby to go with my Hornby Thomas
Good locos to collect
Percy is just as bad as Thomas for being cheeky. However, the two are best friends deep down inside. Merry Christmas.
Definitely, two best friends together at last.
Nice locomotive! As a Percy, it looks just a bit long, doesn't it?
Yeah it does look a little too long, will have to look at the original Percy to see what is different
Was this recorded on a phone ? Great vid but poor sound quality
Yes this was recorded on a phone
Great review 👍
Thanks! 👍
Mk. 3 coaches won't ever be seen in my collection, but I do have the smaller Mk. 1s. How about purchasing some BR Chocolate & Cream Mk. 1 coaches, and a Great Western Manor engine to match? Santa Special time. Merry Christmas.
A Manor class is certainly on my collection list, some more MK1's will do nicely especially in that chocolate and cream livery, Merry Christmas to you too.
Put in a Video Description maybe?
Ok, I will do that a D for future videos
