Exploring an abandoned underground tunnel complex at the historical port town of Cavtat, Croatia, on the Adriatic coast near Dubrovnik. It’s a real labyrinth inside, and kind of creepy when you're alone and get lost! Is it a relic of the Communist era? Or a leftover from World War 2? There are lots of remains of coastal fortifications nearby, bunkers and gun emplacements pointing out to sea.

    It's fucking laughable how the Japanese Korean and Chinese always fight for who is superior who is better at fighting blah blah blah. Why don't everyone just shut the fuck up. Look at the 3 countries today. 1) China is a shithole now because of communism, sure there's a lot of rich people but completely lost its culture, while the rest 90% of the country is still dead poor. Confucius what? Next to no morality. Taiwan is what a democratic China would look like, too bad it's so small it is insignificant and forever will be. 2) Japanese people, fuck your own pride. You got fucked by the Americans in the most embarrassing way. ALL Of your aircraft carriers were destroyed by the Americans.. ALL of them... You make cell phones the entire time, yet it is apple who changed the cell phone industry, a company that never made cell phones, this should be an embarrassment to your own ingenuity and creativity, just like how you wanted to fight America using conventional warfare when you were destroyed by 2 nuke bombs your emperor barely had time to react. You tried to invade the mainland thousands of times throughout history and you fail each and every time. They say a smart person only make a mistake once. Seems like your race is extremely dumb because you keep making the same mistake for a thousand times. That level of stubbornness is borderline retardation. 3) Korea, sorry to say but without north korea united, you are also insignificant in this world except for some entertainment, and that is only because you copy black people better than other Asians. Your government, still, cannot make a single decision without the influence of America. And from what I understand, the government is still corrupt as fuck. The only good thing that happened to you is Christianity, and that is not even an Asian thing. SO how is Asia great right now? It' s a slave to the western nations. It is divided, it is confused, and there's absolute no alliance between Asian nations. This is so dumb. Do you know how strong Asia could be if the powers in place just learned how to unite and work with each other? Europe has the European union, what the fuck does Asia have? Just a bunch of stupid people hating on each other for some stupid shit that happened a few thousands of years ago. Let's move on please, any more lingering of preexisting hate is an embarrassment to the entire Asian race..

Dad was helping with Sprit 1 before the verticals stab was installed and before me as well. My mom and “the girls” made lunch for the guys while working on the car in Craig’s parents home garage. Craig decided every body wants fried chicken so mom and the girls went out and bought everything for fried chicken. Mom had the most money at the time so she bought the chicken,$12.31. Mom never saw that $12,and well into the 2000’s she reminded him of that. Craig saw it as a sponsor expense,mom asked where her name was on the car?

    So in a Standard Atmosphere (15 C or 59 F) the Speed of Sound if 761.4307 mph. It drops by 1.358mph for every degree C the temperature drops. If the reported that the air temp at the time of the run was below freezing (-6 C or -21 F) the S.O.S. (Speed Of Sound) would have been 741.097 mph if it was O C (32 F) and 732.963 mph at -6 C. I think I remember watching this wayback in the day as a 10 year old kid. The Budweiser rocket car had the proper background and lighting. It is an absolute fact that the Mach Shockwave, if present, would have been captured on film for all to See. The Camera Geometry was Good. In Fact, the camera location was Very Good! No Boom was heard at greater distances either, in marked contrast to the runs of ThrustSSC, which generated extensive and well attested "Sonic Booms" over a wide area and a "Clearly Visible" Shockwave. It just simply Did Not Happen Period. IMHO, the Budweiser rocket car failed to generate any evidence whatsoever that can be used to Validate the Official Mach 1 Claim. And Close Don't Count...As they say, "Close only counts in Horseshoes and Hand Grenades!" None of the land speed record sanctioning groups was present for the run, nor was the run duplicated within any particular time frame as required by most sanctioning bodies for official recognition of a new land speed record. No accurate measurement was taken of the car's speed, which was announced as having been calculated from radar tracking data along with accelerometer data which has not been made public. The FIM (Fédération Internationale de Motocyclisme) nor the FIA (Fédération Internationale de l'Automobile), the official speed record certifying bodies, recognise the record attempt, the speed purported to have been reached or that the vehicle ever attained supersonic speeds. The original Budweiser Rocket was donated to the Smithsonian Institution, but was Removed. Certain questions concerning Mr. Yeager's understanding outside the realm of aerospace come to bear with some relevance in the light of the many other facts regarding the entire Budweiser Project S.O.S. effort. One possible explanation is that Mr. Yeager was provided information which appeared to be correct "without personal analysis and confirmation." He may have been regurgitating information that he believed was true then. An interesting item is the nose mounted pitot tube for measuring the vehicle's air speed. Other than one minor mention of its data in published reports, this sensor is left out of the whole picture. The reason for this can only be guessed at. It may be noted that given all of the other areas that the team neglected to calculate for it is quite possible that they did not anticipate the extreme vibrations that would be transmitted to the pitot tube from the vehicle's interaction with the bumpy track. In aircraft applications these devices work predictably and are quite reliably. On the car, its readings may have been too erratic to have provided reliable data. Yet the Mach 1 event is an aerodynamic event and this device was the only instrument on board that could have captured the dramatic pressure shifts at the nose of the vehicle as they occurred. Instead the team resorted to accelerometer data to verify the final speed. What then is the value of having a celebrity who provides testimony which should provide approval and validation of a claim if he is out of his element? He does demonstrate how easy it is to claim something without ever having to provide the evidence or documented proof, nor require it to become convinced. This does not apply to Mr. Yeager as it does to all of those who have perpetuated his incredible story without any evidence other than the Air Force says he did. Something to think about. It was the Military who told the world that Mr. Yeager broke the sound barrier first. I wonder if Mr. Yeager would be able to look at the Bell X-1 data, perform the apparently complex calculations, and arrive independently at the conclusion that he broke the sound barrier? Would Stan Barrett be able to verify the claim similarly? I do hope the Military was able to solve these calculations in less than eight hours back then. I Speculate that Mr. Yeager was actually quite comfortable in his endorsement because in essence the Military did the same for him too. That may be the way it gets done in the Military, but here in the civilian world "we rely upon independent verification which is provided by a sanctioning organization." His argument might incorporate the idea that nowhere in automotive racing and sanctioning organizations is there a qualified group capable of setting up, recording and rendering an accurate finding of the results because of the extremely technical nature of supersonic aerodynamics. The Budweiser team paid their people to perform this vital function, though it appears they may have overpaid if the results are any measure. Any organization can hire qualified experts. The issue is impartiality and accuracy. I will acknowledge that Mr. Yeager may have acted in good faith without any intent to deceive the public. But It is very difficult to imagine anyone endorsing this Caim "which rightfully should stand on its own merit without celebrity endorsement." Any record is exactly that, a matter of record. It reflects that there is specific qualified evidence that proves the claim and this evidence is recorded in a format by regulated officials for the express purpose of proving that the claim is based on fact and not speculation. (IMO Any Record that requires an endorsement by a Celebrity is Doomed, because this type of Endorsement is in Direct-Opposition the Whole Record Process.) On a final note, let us again be reminded that the goal of exceeding Mach 1 on land is in fact an aerodynamic event, one that is transient in response to subtle changes in atmospheric conditions. It is not so precise an event that anyone should expect to easily claim victory while attempting to do so at a speed so close to its mathematical demarcation line, as the Budweiser team had tried to do. Any competent aerodynamicist would have been able to establish a network of sound recording devices appropriate for the conditions that would have captured not only the signature of the passing shockwave, but the velocity as it passed from station to station. The results would then be easily viewed on an oscilloscope so that it could be compared to the expected pattern the Budweiser rocket car would generate, based on wind tunnel evaluations. Microphones could have been placed above the track by being suspended on a wire, should there be any ground attenuation effects which may not have been foreseen. As a result, the Budweiser Rocket Car is not officially considered as the first vehicle to have broken the sound barrier on land, and very few people believe the car to have actually done so. Case Closed.

    Well this was a interesting video. If I may this man and his machine has always been a part of my childhood and into my teenage years. I am the oldest of 4 siblings, and as we grew up in Akron, OH. This is my story we moved from off of Arlington St. and Welbeth rd to S. Arlington st. to Sypher rd.off of Krumroy rd. Finally in the suburbs in the country that's when my 12yr old mind started tinkering with anything that had a motor. The I started hearing load roaring sounds from time to time and my new country friends said Aw that's Mr Arfons working on his jet car, well that did it for me I was on a quest to find out more. Well I found out The names involved in the jet car mystery..Art and brother Walt and an address of Pickle rd. Because later in Shrop Jr High was down the street to Mr Arfons home....I just remember the tall wooden fence about the property, but it did nothing from keeping the sound from coming out. And later I discovered that Art's mechanic lived down the street from us on Sypher rd. He always had a mechanical project going and we always had mini- bike or bicycle questions, and he had a motorcycle hung on the wall, it was Old Harley Davidson Sprint. We dreamed about that. I believe his name was Ed...Ed Groff or Goff..But I remember Ed...As time passed I did not finish middle school at Shrope Jr high we moved again off of Copley rd. And finished high school at Buchtel high school but kept my country friends in contact. I was a motor head loved engines, changing camshafts. More Cubic inches and performance mods....anything motor. I acquired a 1969 Ford mustang with a 428 super cobra jet 4 speed from a kinda wealthy friend from High School, he knew I wanted that car and We worked out a money deal over the winter. It had spun around bearing and I spent time talking it apart and taking all the pieces to now was "Art Arfons Speed Shop" I had met both Arfons and was a regular customer at the speed shop.At that time the Green Monster was in the west window of the speed shop. And was retired at that time...And the part I remember most was I was picking up some engine parts that was being machined one afternoon, and as I was talking to Art, he said come follow me into a old storage room and we approached a large metal fabricated dolly with a large piece of canvas draped over it. He reached over and removed the canvas cover and there before me was a 427 SOHC cammer complete engine with 2-4 barrel carburetors that he said that Firestone used to test his tires during that time period. He said to me that he would make a deal with me to buy this complete engine and if I did not have all the he would take cash payments to payed for...he just wanted me to have it.....I was overwhelmed with the offer.....I did not buy it and I always regretted that day wishing that would have taken him up on that offer, but I was only 18 yrs old and money was tight but yrs after I always remember that unbelievable engine. Then I moved to Arizona went to Trade school and watched AHRA Winternationals at Beeline Dragway. And redone a engine transplant from the 428 Super Cobra Jet to a Boss 429 to run Pro Gas. But I have always been thankful that I heard that Legendary Roar of Art Arfons Green Monster as a young boy.

    The reason of Ming's late reaction to send the troops to Korea was because that Ming could not believe Japan attacked Joseon and Joseon was defeating. Back then, Japan was called as a "Wae" by Ming and Joseon, and it means "small, tiny and insignificant". Actually, Wae was not even a name of the country, it just meant a kind of barbarian. I saw an old map you used several times in your video in which the territory of Japan was portrated very tiny, probably 1/10 of its actual size, which is indicating Ming and Joseon people's perception on Japan back then. They thought Japan was very uncivilized barbarian land (not even think of it as a country). Thus, when Ming's emperor was reported the Wae(=Japan) invaded Joseon and Joseon was defeating, he and officials of Ming couldn't believe it easily and even thought that Joseon might betrayed them and was on the side of Mongol and it might be some kind of tactics to deceive them. They would not believed it even after they reported again by the official who was sent by themselves to Joseon to confirm whether it is true or not. That was why Ming's reaction was late. They just couldn't even imagine that Joseon was defeating by barbarian like Japan because many invasions by Chinese previous dynasties before Ming to Korea were all failed.

    2:13 it was not easy like that. It is true that Yi Sun-sin was way older than Yi Uk-gi, but, Yi Uk-gi was one of royal family, relative of King. And Cholla Right Navy is bigger than the Left Navy, and the official hierachy of Cholla Right Navy was upper than the left one. However, Yi Uk-gi knew who Yi Sun-sin is because he had fought together with him against northern enemy when he was deployed to the northern side of the country. He knows Yi Sun-sin's ability and the fact that Sun-sin has more expriences than himself. So, Yi uk-gi volunteerly waived his right to become the senior commander to Yi Sun-sin.

    Korean clowns always make me laugh. Yi Sun-sin, the most worthless hero in history, of whom South Korea is proud, was ultimately killed by Shimazu soldiers and had little impact on the war, merely attacking Japanese convoys as guerrillas. In the invasion of Korea, the Japanese army attacked South Korea with 150,000 troops, but the total number of Japanese troops was 600,000. The number of 150,000 people corresponds to 25% of the total military force. Don't forget the fact that these 25% captured Seoul in 3 weeks and advanced to Pyongyang, North Korea, within 3 months. The power relationship between Japan and South Korea has always been one-sided and has never been an equal power relationship. It's not a relationship between Germany and France, it's a relationship between Germany and Poland.

  • @hiroono1
    @hiroono1 2 месяца назад

    Why do you fabricate history? Answer me. The damage that the Korean navy, including Yi Sun-sin, caused to Japan was very small. The evidence is that most of the Japanese navy returned safely to Japan. Meanwhile, the Korean navy, numbering tens of thousands, including Yi Sun-sin, was almost completely wiped out. The Chinese history book, Ming History, states that there was no chance of the Ming dynasty and its vassal state (Korea) winning, and that the fighting ended only because Toyotomi Hideyoshi died (due to illness). Japan took Seoul just three weeks after the start of the invasion, so there was no need for supplies by sea. It is a completely illogical lie to say that Yi Sun-sin interfered with Japanese supplies. Only fools and Koreans would use dangerous sea routes, depending on the weather, when supplies could be safely routed by land.

    Around 1970 I was working at Hurn Airport, near Bournemouth, UK when Art Arfons brought Green Monster in an attempt to break the 0-300 mph record. I recall he didn't quite do it, but it was still one of the most spectacular events I've ever witnessed.

    I just have a question in regards to your theory that Japan could conquer China with such a numerically smaller force, re: In comparison to the Spanish in the New World. I think it's pretty commonly held knowledge amongst historians than disease played a major component in weakening the Aztec population when the Spanish conquered them, as well as being a civilization who had many regional enemies due to their cultural need for human sacrifice. This drove other groups to ally with the Spanish against the Aztec. How do you believe those two factors could be replicated to support your argument for a Japanese victory?

    If we had Iwo Jima (since the fourth plane of the 2nd wave landed there) why didn't we launch from there, cutting down on flight time, crew stress, and possible interception?

    Why weren't the callsigns encoded since we basically did the same frequency thing before Midway and should have known better.

      I used freesound.org for a lot of the audio effects in this series. You need an account (free) to access the site. That particular snippet of drumming is a recording of a Buddhist festival in Japan. The recording is entitled "Oeshiki parades of mandou festival." Here is the link: freesound.org/people/Ignat/sounds/202966/
