As a Star Wars fan, someone who grew up on this era of gaming but owned PlayStation so didn’t play this till a couple years ago, and lastly ad someone who hates the Disney movies, I really enjoyed this game. The character creation and lightsaber customization is cool asf for it’s time, the fact you can single weird, dual wild or use double sided if I remember correctly? I also liked the way the fighting control works, very different from other games using the stick to fight. Button mashing one button gets tiring in some fighting games, this gave a change of pace. Lastly, given that I hate the Disney movies I like to pretend the light side story specifically is the cannon sequel to the original trilogy. I’m one of those who like to pretend Disney is non cannon. But on that note it is cool they even give you a option between light and dark side giving replay ability. If you took the gameplay from this game and put it in knights of the old republic I’d say those games are perfect where they already stand

Jeremy is the actual worst. I have a deep hate for that guy. I agree though, other than that and some public matching issues, this was a very enjoyable game.

Playing this at the moment brilliant game I loved the original too but I never owned it my pal did though so I played it a few times it used to creep me our as a kid

So I went easy on it it the review and only sort of hinted at it at the time. But on a second play through, and the more time I've had to sit with it. I really hate what they did with Red in this game.

just finished it the other day and i absolutely loved it. this is the closest to a playable "the thing" game i have ever seen. atmosphere, graphics, sounddesign and synchro are top notch. it is a bit too linear and sometimes a little to repetative, but the atmosphere alone makes it worth it. the industry needs way less live-support-sandbox-multiplayer-battle royale shit and way more games like this. in my opinion at least. i would love it.

omg this fucking abomination of the silent hill franchise gave me cancer. i love the original silent hill games. especially the first two. the atmosphere, art and sound design and this particular ps1 graphics and the limitations of the first game, surprisingly are perfect for the horror of a silent hill game. the second game is a brillant masterpiece, one can without a single doubt compare with word class literature, and how team silent implemented the fact that it is a game into the storytelling and the story itself is unbelievably brillant. and now look at this piece of rotting horseshit they slammed the silent hill name on it. you play some teenage bitch, who is complaining about losing followers on social media. fucking hell. i mean the franchise was getting worse and worse from the 4th game onwards, but this here is digital superaids. it saddens me what konami did with one of the greatest horror franchises of all time. i abborted it when i had to run away from that thing a third time and had to search for some collectibles while doing it. even for free this shit is raging me. they should have given me money to play it. sorry for the rant haha

I played through all of dead island 2 and both dlc’s. Haus was okay but too short (at least I got it during a sale). The story in Haus was confusing and not great. You finish the story with more questions than answers. The crossbow is great against common zombies but bad with apex zombies. The fury emitters are interesting and cool but need to be in the base game for them to be really good. I also played SoLa and I loved it. The new weapons like the ripper and saw blade launcher were really good and cool. There were some new weapon designs that were inspired by the festival theme. The story was really good with the new apex zombies. Overall I liked all of dead island 2 but Haus compared to SoLa is not great. Your review was really excellent. Keep up the great work 👍

"Hardcore gamer" here. I give the game a 10/10. Because I won't hold little things not being buffed or patched yet against a game that hasn't even been out a year. Its hilarious, it's cool, it's fun. And those are the only 3 things a game needs to be.

It's a 9.5/10 if you want a party game for casuals. If you're a hardcore gamer it's a 7/10 game that has some significant issues and the cracks are going to start showing everywhere the more time you put into it.

It's a full on remaster. Let me tell you as someone who played the original 1995 version on Macintosh, there was no "Free aim" back then. You had to use the arrow keys back then, this remaster is so much more.

Better a late review of a game that represents the one players are getting. Publishers are known to add cash shops and lootboxes and paid DLC only after their game has been reviewed. It's a disgusting practice.

Games can be a 10 on an overall enjoyment level without being a 10 on a developmental level if they do the things they do well exceptionally well. Many games from back in the day we would still claim are 10/10 games that technologically don't hold up anymore, because good design choices can overcome developmental gripes. As someone who always argued the FromSoft games were overrated for example, I respect them a lot because while they really aren't the best developers, their design choices are great at making their developmental gripes fit the game and the world, so they become less significant. Don't wanna make lots of NPC's? Put everything in extremely desolated areas and of course they are because "giant monsters everywhere are you blind?!" Don't wanna tie up loose ends on a story that doesn't tie together? Leave the ending ambiguous and let the player decide what happens. Smart design choices overrule developmental criticisms.

I have the original on N64... Really wanted to like it but hated it based on the gameplay and not being able to find the annoying dark souls. So I could never access L'Eclipser... and therefore the bosses were unkillable.

I don't it's bad, it's presentation is alright, the themes are good but it lacks subtlety. Imagine how satisfying to figure out her mother was abusive if we were willing to dig enough, or find the antidepressant by searching well enough or for those did Investigate they would be rewarded with the truth about Maya and Anita.

As it has long since past and I have played New Game +, I can say that it was an improvement. But I'm still kind of disappointed with what was released, the DLC should have been free. It also probably should have come out at launch.

*short comment as it's late for me and i soon want to go to bed, don't know if i'll leave a bigger comment on this video, but i want to say: The devs are very active on Twitter and Steam forums in asking for feedback and criticism and doing-- nevermind, you are addressing this at the point in the video while i'm writing this. That said, on Twitter there has also been stated interest in supporting the game for a while beyond only making it technically solid. There's been gifs of a combo counter work-in-progress, some images of boss intros, mention of full voice acting throughout the game (which depending on the quality of the voice acting may bring forth new ups and downs), and fans are talking in the steam forums of possible extra areas. But this is obviously very dependent on the game getting good support. Glad to see people being generally positive on this game while also critical of it. Wish you a good one and take care. Also, perhaps consider looking into the following games: - Clash: Artifacts of Chaos - Soulstice (these were both from early 2023 and late 2022, respectively) - The Dishwasher: Vampire Smile (you want a 2D game with flowing combat, THIS is for you) - Blud (upcoming game, also fantastically animated and bloody, can almost be seen as a younger sister or niece to Cookie Cutter) - Genokids and Enenra (both upcoming games, same genre as Soulstice) - Resistor All are worth talking about. man, that comment wasn't as short as i thought it would be.

I enjoy narrative-driven games, especially when they're this over the top. Thank you.
